I dont know, it has been said that the staff who was working for TFS has been fired...
Maybe the episodes 3 and 4 were already done and they dont really need a lot of people to polish them before the release.
Presumably a lot of the assets and script elements were already finished. I doubt it's a matter of "polishing" though, one of the outside sources made it sound like Episode 4 didn't even start actual development

He was correct about Telltale going bankrupt and having a skeleton crew before or around the time it was first announced. He is also a Forbes contributor and his source seems legit.
Then I think it is unlikely that we will ever see the last 2 episodes if they are still unfinished.
I mean everyone who were working for it have been laid off, how can they even finish this season without them in time?
The story and writing is basically done. The graphical assets, character models, etc. are already made. Hopefully a lot of the voice work is done. It isn't infeasible to assume the skeleton crew can finish things up, although perhaps at a lower quality.

All of the writers were laid off but we already know the story is done. I assume that the skeleton crew is very competent or else why keep them around? So like the tweet says it seems they could still be planning for this crew to finish up the season before dying.

I really hope so, but why TellTale didn't say anyhing about TFS future? They're avoiding to talk about it for some reasons.

If u guys really wanna see if they will continue development on TFS keep an eye on steamdb. Last update was 24 hours ago, regarding ep3, before the storm. Which means no development had place today on TFS.
EDIT:
Now I noticed, an update did took place on TFS steamdb about ep3 a hour ago... not sure if this confirms it but keep ur eyes peeled on the steamdb.

I mean, a lot of the times steamdb told us stuff. Why not bother again check it. Even better by checking how many changes ep2 had we could've made estimations how many changes ep3 needed to be finished.

This all happened very suddenly. I mean, they knew they were in financial trouble for awhile now, but they assumed TFS would generate enough profit to keep them afloat. They were wrong, and they had just put off the inevitable. They hired new people as early as last week, one even moving across the country for this job! Hell, they were still posting teasers 4 hours before the staff was officially laid off. I think right now they're trying to fully asses the situation and see if they actually have the means to go on with this season. That and/or they could be scared of backlash and possible repercussions from not finishing this season.

@Robert Morgan if I don't get another chance, I would like to thank you for all of the insightful posting you have done over the years. It has been a pleasure reading your speculations and insights into the events of whatever episode the community was playing at the time. I wish you the best.
I want to hold on to every shred of hope there is, I don't want this franchise I've loyally followed for 6 years to just fart out and die in the middle of its final act.
Telltale, if you're closing for good, give your fans and customers what they deserve and finish the story of the character who has essentially become your mascot and icon.

Yeah if it really did get canned there would be zero activity from here on out wouldn't there? After all why bother, god I fucking hope they finish it, even if the quality won't be as good.
If they need some extra cash just to give the final two episodes some extra polish, they could set up a GoFundMe campaign or something. No prizes or extra nuggets, like on Kickstarter. Just seeing episodes 3 and 4 completed in the highest possible quality would be enough.
Who cares about quality, after all that happens, we can only play the last ones and it's already too good and it does not have to be quality. After all this disgrace happens with our TTG

Nope. Both episodes are unfinished. Episode 4 moreso than episode 3, but still.

Which was yesterday afternoon when everything started going down.

Would be nice if they just told us already, this blows.

TBF they weren't specific about Minecraft or Stranger Things or anything else for that matter.

I mean wouldn't the backlash be getting sued for all their bananas for not delivering on what the season pass was supposed to deliver
Can't sue a company with no money...
Please, Telltale. At least bow out with grace. Finish Clementine's story.
How about the guy who was in charge of all this the CEO or whatever
This gives me hope
