To clarify things, lead designer of season 4 confirmed on reddit that despite the game writing being complete, only episode 3 was 'far along… more' development, suggesting episode 4 has not begun development. He also confirmed that the walking dead team has been fired and the remaining skeleton crew is only to finish the Netflix Minecraft deal. They have no means of completing the game and also cannot legally release the script for the game. Sorry everyone...

Most of the work is done for those episodes, I don't see why EP3 won't release but it all hinges if Telltale lives long enough to be able to release them.
This is in direct contrast to the words of the Lead Game Designer of Season 4, who said Episode 3 was only 'Far Along', with no word on the development of episode 4. There seems to be serious conflicting information.
Still, without a team to wrap up development, the episodes cannot see release. If by some miracle, they do get released, even in an unfinished state, I would be overjoyed.
So this guy confirms episode 3 is also pretty much done then, if he really is from Telltale, that could be good news but we'll just have to wait until they give their official response and see how much these fuckers will give us.
The same developer from the AMA linked above stated "Voice Acting, animations, QA, etc." were left unfinished in the remaining episodes. So they are not as far along as we might think, considering all lines have not been recorded as of yet and the developers in charge of animations are gone.
Man, This is unbearable. I've been awake since last night. Gone from shock to depression, even accepting this disaster. But all this uncertainty is killing me. PLEASE telltale, esp 3 and 4 are cancelled or they are going to be made? At this point I just want a confirmation. Do we really have to wait until Monday for this? Please stop torturing me... I'd rather receive the bad news already than stay in this tension.

For some reason, it looks like most of the main devs from TFS are staying silent and not releasing any news regarding TFS. They might have been told to keep quiet for a bit until they could fix things or something. It's not very likely because I assume that the devs are just looking for jobs and don't have any time for tweeting, but it could be something to keep in mind.
A random anonymous ex Telltale employee showed up on reddit and revealed that most of the work for the season was completed over the summer … moreand they expect it to be released. They also revealed that they worked on Wolf s2 and it was shaping up to be their favorite Telltale game ever.
"There's a lot of confusion based on their role and how involved they were in production. All I can say is that the remaining portions of Ep3 and Ep4 that are unfinished are not impossible to finish with small teams." From a former telltale employee with unspecified role. Interpret this information as you will.

Likely a developer who wishes to remain anonymous. He sounds credible, and talks with confidence that the remaining episodes will see release, but I can't imagine he has more insight than the lead game designer himself (who said not to expect the final two episodes)
I was thinking this was another possibility, but sadly it means episodes 3 and 4 will probably be a fucking huge downgrade. This whole situation really sucks
Well, look at it this way, guys. Trust me, I feel you all in regards to the fact that Telltale is shutting down, but there is still hope.
Again, while the situation looks dire, we do not have OFFICIAL confirmation that Eps. 3 and 4 of TFS are canceled. You guys have to remember this; this isn't just an IP Telltale made on their own...this is THE WALKING DEAD, one of the biggest franchises in the world right now. I find it very hard to believe that Robert Kirkman will just let this HIGHLY BELOVED series die. So whether he personally sees to it that the skeleton crew finishes the last two episodes, or he has the story written in some novel, comic, or video, I believe that in the end, we will have Clementine's ending.
And to those of you still bummed that we may never see a game like the way Telltale made games see the light of day...hold on to those memories and build something with it. As an Media/Film/English major in college, I wanted nothing more than to join Telltale once I graduated. I wanted to write brand new stories for them, maybe even help write a Tales or GoT 2 if I got lucky, so you can understand how gutted I was to hear about this yesterday. But Telltale lives on. It really does. Every single fan, every single developer still out there has months and years of experience and lessons taught by their time at Telltale. If we all, as a fandom, really want Telltale back, it has to be up to us to help create a spiritual successor.
So come up with your own ideas for games! Write more TWAU and TWD fanfics, learn more about cinematography, come up with other IPs you'd wanna see be made into a Telltale-esque game. Telltale was made from the remains of Lucasarts, so who's to say another company won't be made from Telltale's? As Gandhi once said, "We must be the change we wish to see in the world."
I for one would LOVE to be a part of the next generation of adventure games, a genre I should say, I particularly had no interest in until I heard of TWD. I want to help keep this genre alive, and clearly, lots of other game developers do too! Whether it be Dontnod with Life is Strange, Quantic Dream with Detroit: Become Human, Supermassive Games with Until Dawn and their upcoming Dark Pictures series, it's clear gamers are still loving these kinds of games, and I would love nothing more than to help be a part of the adventure genre's next generation, and help further bridge the gap between gaming and serialized media.
Tl:dr If TWD TFS does not finish, Robert Kirkman will definitley see it through somehow through a comic or so on, people still love the adventure, episodic branching choice genre, and it's up to us and other game developers to see the "new Telltale" come to be.

When it looks as if Telltale FINALLY got their shit together so you buy the season pass.
That really does give me a lot of hope

So uhhh if anyone was expecting a Wellington patch, they sure as heck aren't getting one now.
Voice Acting, revisions, QA, etc that is what said that needs to be finished. So I am very hopeful right now.
Oh I totally forgot about that

if this turns out to not be true i'm gonna eat my hand

Yup very very hopeful right now.
If that's actually in the second episode I'll buy a hat and eat it...

Oh my poor stomach with all the ups and downs about the news

They gonna pull an Evangelion final season type
I would rather not have Episode 3 and 4 than get Episode 3 and 4 but they suck.

Hell yeah
skybound stories are doing their own take on the episodic adventure series! Come on Kirkman!!
