I don't think that Rick was ever ruined. Pretty much his scenes were the scenes that make Seasons 7 and 8 watchable. 7x08 Rick and Daryl reunion, 7x16 "I'm gonna kill you", 8x08 fight with Negan and 8x16 speech.
It's best that Clem stays in the Comic/Game universe. Gimple couldn't even get the main show right and ruined a lot of characters including Rick himself, I highly doubt he'll do Clem any justice.
Clementine is from Comic Series universe. Besides due to choices it is basically impossible to introduce her. And she wouldn't be anyone important in TV Series as there are simply too many more interesting and better characters than her.
And improved others. Carol in the comics is shit compared to carol of the t.v. show. I'd prefer to see it and judge rather than just assume it can't be done.

They ruined him by giving him the persona of Jekyll & Hyde, one season he's calm & rational, the next he's an unstable lunatic, total opposite of his comic counterpart where he's a better leader and level headed, it seems Gimple didn't know where he was going with Rick wheter he was turning him into a villain or a man trying to do right.

Yeah, the show does improve some characters (even if they are overrated) but that doesn't mean they should ruin fan favorites like Tyreese, Abraham, Jesus & Andrea. I've seen it before & judged.

Actually people seem to like it. Angela Kang is doing an awesome job of bringing a new light to this show. When I watched the promo of 9x06-9x08 I already knew that I'm going to watch this. The new world's gonna need Rick Grimes... but there is still a world without Rick Grimes

I’m personally of the opinion that if a show focuses on a character from the very beginning of E1, that character needs to be there to the end. It’s [b]their[/b] story, wouldn’t really make sense to me to kill them off.
The only way I would have been okay with Rick dying would have been if he had basically passed the torch to Carl. Once Carl died, which was a mistake imo, obviously that went out the window.
I would have had serious doubts about continuing to watch the show if Rick had died. Now, knowing that he will return (albeit in movies), I’ll definitely be sticking with it.
