What's going to happen to my purchases?
Hi ,
With the studio closing down and the rest of the crew gone (sniff), I'm wondering what will happen to my purchases. I bought most of my games via the Telltale store. Will the website be shut down as well so my games library becomes unavailable? Will the in-game downloads still work? Will Telltale provide Steam keys as a alternative?
I think it's time Telltale gives us some clarity about this, so please do.
I'm going to miss Telltale a lot. Thanks you Guys, for all your excellent work!

Telltale no longer has support or public relations, so they're unlikely to respond. It's suggested you download any classic games you've purchased directly from Telltale before the site goes down. There's a little more detail in the sticky thread https://telltale.com/community/discussion/122147/psa-classic-ttg-games-purchased-via-telltale-store-have-updated-drm-free-game-launchers .
As Warpspeed said, it's probably for the best to download any games that you would want to hold onto. The good news is that the classic games have DRM free launchers as of a while back (meaning no online verification/log in process is required to boot up the game anymore).
Offcource I already downloaded those classic installers. But what about the ingame downloadable episodes of the newer games? Where can I find those for download (legally that is).
I could install all games, download all episodes from within the game and then save the datafolders, but come on. There must or should be an easier way.
That really sucks.
Both wolf among us and walking dead 2 still require a login to activate (maybe a few others too) and the installers don't have the rest of the episodes.
Well, they told me not to buy into the whole digital distribution method, but did I listen?
Yeah best to download them i know someone who bought the games through the store have put them onto a flashdrive
I'm feeling a whole lot better about getting that glorified DVD-R backup they called the signature edition of these games. They're DRM free and contain the whole game at least.
Still no news about what's actually going to happen to our owned games. Will the download and authentication server stay up?
It would have been fair if Telltale had officially communicated about the issue instead of the non-official FAQ.
This is why Steam is Great! But yeah...that sucks.
Nobody knows when they might stop being available for download, but they're DRM free. Download and back them up now.
Only the classics are DRM free.
I tried a fresh install of Batman Season 1 from GOG today. GOG is known for opposing DRM. It did do an initial scan for DLC, and I don't know what the game would do if that scan didn't work. It did allow me to proceed and start the game without logging on to a Telltale account.
