What is all the fuss?

I found the episode slow-paced and boring. Why am I reading some comments suggesting that it is ‘one of the best episodes made’? Please enlighten me.

However I did really like the episode as a whole, I just found the ending to be pretty bad, they kinda messed it all up.

  • I prefer my episodes slow and character driven, not break neck and Michael Bay produced. One of the many reasons I prefer this season over ANF. The episode was great.

It's not one of the best episodes ever made, but it's not a bad episode either,i still really enjoyed it even if they messed up Lilly's character in my opinion.

Like i said in my opinion, the first two acts of the episode were awesome, and the third (the last act with lilly) is the one i didn't really like.

  • The slower episodes have always been my favorite ones and this was no different. As a person who absolutely loves these characters, it's the time we spend with them that I cherish the most which is why the party is probably my favorite scene in the episode.

But you can't please everyone. That much we know.

  • I can sorta that.
But if anything, I'd say the earlier stuff was oddly fast-tracked event wise and that the episode is actually relatively good until the third act.

  • ‘A New Frontier’ is greater than the final season. Let the challenge commence!

Because it's a good episode. One of the best? Maybe, maybe not. But as for penultimate episodes, it's definetly one of the better ones.

The only thing off about it is the pacing, though that's a problem throughout the whole season and not exclusive for that episode.

There were some fantastic character moments and tense action scenes. I also really liked the siege of the boat and everything happening on it, with the exception of maybe the last confrontation.

Looking at it as a whole, it's just really great what they've done with this season. There are some of the best emotional beats of the entire franchise in it and you can tell that they wanted to actually revitalize the series after a couple of minor-to-major missteps. Sure, it's not perfect but nothing is and to be honest, it's so much better than what I expected to get out of it. Just like the tv show. One season nearly killed the franchise for me, the next one pulls me back almost immediately.

I'm just glad it even exists. Just think about the possibility, where the game series died with ANF.

That's also one of the reasons why I don't really want to complain about the game. I know about the pacing issues, the couple of underdeveloped characters etc, but I don't really care about these specific things, because the game actually exists. Though I DO love to read what other people think about these episodes regardless if they like it or not. As long as their criticism is honest and thought out, of course.

  • Give it a week or two. Let the initial impressions and reactions to the most recent episode play out.
    And THEN you strike!

    When?

Yeah right, confrontation with Lilly and the whole thing on the deck, it was all happening so damn fast. I thought that Tenn & James were done for really, it was pretty intense. Good I picked the 'right' option at the end and didn't ruin my whole experience

  • I really liked it. Especially showing the problems with Aj and therefore Clem. Also the whole James thing, discussing what it means to be human was very interesting for me. AJ telling you that hr would get bitten and that kind of stuff made me tear up, and the final choice was propably the hardest one in The Walking Dead for me yet.

  • Lol.

  • For all the wait that we've had, it was a good episode. The only problem it really had was the pacing, as it did feel to drag on a bit too long at some bits, but I feel like it had a good amount of content with the different branching paths that you could take.

Thankfully, it was also relatively lengthy, not like those episodes from ANF, so it's nice to be re-assured that Episode 4 is very likely to be another lengthy episode.

Finally, this was one of the first episodes in a long time that actually had me on the edge of my seat. Some people said that the ending for Episode 3 was kinda crap (mostly because of what happens to Lilly), but I feel that the final act of the episode was one of the most tense parts of an episode we've had so far.

    It was worth the weigh-wait.

  • Just finished it and I really enjoyed it, found some of the choices much tougher than usual to decide on. Also seemingly one of the few people who like Lilly the superbitch... ?
