Since when did people feel negative about The Final Season?

This entire forum was acclaiming and overhyping the first episode, and now just because some people think Episode 3 is "bad"

suddenly people prefer A New Frontier over this season, what is there about "A New Frontier" to prefer it over The Final Season?

At least in "The Final Season" you can choose to be platonic with Louis and Violet. Whereas in ANF it's either you have a relationship with Kate or you choose your brother and if you choose your brother, they still force that fight scene with David and Javier even if you sided with him every step of the way and pushed off Kate's advances towards Javier.

  • Since the first episode. The only reason I prefer ‘A New Frontier’ is because of its cast.

  • What cast though? The knock off Abraham aka Tripp, the random Joan, shitbirds known as Gabe who either calls you a pussy if you take the deal with Conrad or betrays you and rats you out to Tripp and Eleanor for killing Conrad.

  • I don't think episode 3 was "bad" i think it was pretty good also anyone who prefers A New Frontier over the Final Season is absolutely insane just saying.

I'm kinda tired of repeating myself over and over again,so i'll just say that i think the plot is too basic, and Lilly was just wasted, not enough screentime, too much evil, and gets killed at the end of the episode, bringing her back was pointless,in my opinion.

I wanted to see the real Delta camp,i wanted to know more about the people the Delta are fighting against,it seemed much more interesting that what we got.

But they wasted too much time on pointless scenes like the party scene, like, don't get me wrong i loved the party scene but remove it and literally everything is the same.

I guess i just wanted a better plot and a more complex antagonist, but i don't hate the episode i really enjoyed it.

  • But isn't this the same forum who begged for similar scenes like this in the last two seasons? A lot of you complained we didn't get enough time to spend and get to know the Cabin Group before Carver came in.

And we got that with the Party scene in Episode 3.

  • I would say most people really liked it up until episode 3's 3rd act. I also really liked the season so far (and still do) but the ending to episode 3 in my opinion wasnt very good and has me a bit worried about episode 4. Main problems would be how Lilly was wasted potential and just how in general episode 3's ending doesn't really give off a great picture for whats to come. There isnt really a goal or a real hook for the amazing season finale. To put it into perspective, these are the best Telltale games (imo) and how they handle their penultimate episode:

Walking Dead Season 1, ends with Lee being bit and Clem taken. Theres a lot of drama and tension now, and knowing that Lee is basically marked for death is making you want to see the conclusion in the final episode. Wolf Among Us ends episode 4 with us finale coming face to face with the crooked man as we are surrounded by his goons, setting up the finale for us to finally start getting some answers to the mystery we were solving the whole game, making us eager to find out more as well as building up that tension of finally meeting crooked man and being surrounded by the bad guys. Tales from the Borderlands ends with Jack taking control of Hyperion and leaves us knowing episode 5 will answer why Rhys and Fiona split, what happened in the future based on the past. Again, lots of tension and lots of plot strings to look forward to for the overall plot.

Then this episode for the final season determinatly ends with Lilly killed, and then non-determinant the Delta base destroyed. There just isnt much there for set up of an amazing finale, it feels like we already did what the game was leading up to. This most likely means episode 4 will be a lot different in terms of the plot and where its going because we already kinda completed all our goals and there isnt any new ones presented at the end. Granted it can still be really good, but its just not the best feeling when it does seem like theres not gonna be much of a strong hook or theme on the last episode.

  • Why is Lilly “wasted potential” when you have the fucking option to keep her alive. People complain just to complain my god.

I am concerned that episode 4 has a lot of bases to cover and may go too quickly even in a 2.5 hour episode, because we still don’t know who the delta is, we still have to deal with the after effects of the bomb, the horses/supplies, and everything else. I hope they consider a 5th episode or prologue sort of thing because I don’t want the fourth episode to be rushed or feel too fast paced.

I honestly think they're gonna skip over the Delta thing. It's obviously too big of an antagonist to properly deal with.

I reckon after the explosion and Lily's incompetence the rest of the Delta leadership will mark the attempted Ericson capture as a lost cause and ultimately a failure, and won't find it worthy to fight against Clem and her crew and will just let them go to be unbothered. The Delta will see it's more work to recapture them and that they're also better off getting kids somewhere else.

Otherwise the only other conclusion would be an all-out war with the Delta and they obviously cant fit that in a finale that's intending to be 2 hours long. It's also impossible. Clem is not an avenger, she can't fight an entire fucking army.

On an actual realistic level, Clem and the Ericson kids should be dead by now.

They're gonna get let off the hook.

It doesn't matter now,her being in episode 4 won't change what they did to her in EP3,she'll get 5 minutes of screentime, maybe if we're lucky we'll get another shitty sob story about Larry and then we'll kill her.

Yeah like we got 5 minutes of screen time with who you save in episode 2. Makes sense.

    /sarcasm

If TTG in the middle of faltering can make two entirely different episodes for Batman, Skybound can too for TWD

I have absolutely love tfs. I am in love with Clem and AJ and all the school kids. The only thing I hated was how Violet behaved when you let her get taken but that was my alternate playthrough anyway and I'm going to hope that gets settled in episode 4. I am excited for episode 4, I just think 3 left us all hanging, not knowing what to even expect from episode 4. While at the end of episode 2 we all had a pretty clear idea of what we thought would happen in 3. 4 is so up in the air we're worried it's not going to satisfy us. I just try and enjoy every little interaction I love and hope for once they end a walking dead game happy, maybe...?

  • Dude, Gabe and Eleanor are in that game though. The best part of ANF were the Kenny scenes

  • The base? That was just a boat where Lily kept the captives.

You think the entire Delta faction consists of 8 raiders?

  • Are they? I know some people were disappointed with aspects of Broken Toys, but I haven't seen that many people shitting on the game itself.

  • Pretty sure you asked me this same thing the other day what Im saying is that the rest of the Delta isnt going to appear in episode 4. This specific Delta base that has been going against the protagonists has been wiped out. They arnt going to bring even more Delta in the final episode, it would cram up the story too much.

Yeah I'm betting they're gonna get rid of the Delta being a real problem in episode 4.

Too much convolutions. The story would basically turn into a whole army going against Clem and a handful of kids. Clem and co. would obviously die. You can't defeat an Army. I'm curious how they'll cut off the Delta plot aside from them just not caring to go continue hunting Clem.

What you're saying is right, but you've got to remember we shouldn't lose faith in Telltale writers. We haven't really been able to see the Neo-Telltale writers' full potential, I guess you could count Bman S2. They can come up with good ideas, and so far even if this plot is really really simple, they've still come up with some interesting things that I wouldn't be able to come up with. Now, what I am annoyed with is Telltale's rewriting/polishing. How did Lily in her state go through rewrites and polish? How did the all the James stuff go through? How did Minerva being really rude to Violet at the beginning when she was her girlfriend go through?
