  • Thanks Blind, all five of us appreciate your outside-the-box thinking 🫶

  • I'm noticing something that seems to help stability is logging into account on the main site, then when your on the games section (that shows choices etc) clicking forums from there. Otherwise, I'll often get errors or stuff doesn't load.

Something more interesting I'm seeing is if I don't do that I'm occasionally redirected to https://telltale.com/account/login?rd=community which is a 404 page, so maybe related?

Also if anyone else had issues logging in, that might help you too.

Yeah, I noticed a little after as well. For what it’s worth, I can probably split off more of the old posts into more mini threads. Not that I’m sure if it helped any or not?

All of the Trails games will finally be available in English! It took 21 years, but we're finally caught up to the Japanese releases!

  • How it feels being a Tales from the Borderlands fan in a New Tales from the Borderlands world

  • Been a while since I've been here. Along with life shit getting in the way, I've been occupied playing through the Halo series for the first time. Just finished the last of the Bungie games, Halo Reach.

I've always heard about how such an amazing series Halo is, praised for its gameplay, universe, and story...at least the Bungie games. I guess the 343 games get some flack, but I'll be seeing for myself shortly.

As for these games, consisting of the original Halo Trinity, Halo 3 ODST, and Halo Reach, I can definitely see why a lot of people are so thoroughly invested in this series. While I don't feel like it's resonating with me in the same way it has with others, I will agree that there is a lot of lore bits and worldbuilding hidden in the finer details that does maybe require playing it again, which I do intend to. For gameplay, while the games don't make drastic changes to the standard formula between entries, it is a blast for the most part. The original was bogged down by levels and maps that were dry and repetitive, a problem that drastically improved with each entry. I keep hearing that Bungie was under a lot of pressure and crunch when making these games, and it's definitely evident in the finished products (looking at you Halo 2 ending). That being said, much like how I feel about Mass Effect, it's very impressive what the developers were able to accomplish in such a short amount of time. And I know that I'm not the first person to say this, but Cortana is just amazing, she is easily the best thing about these games. Everything from her personality to her relationship with Master Chief is just phenomenal and the heart of this series.

Overall, I have enjoyed myself going through these games, and it's got me interested in the universe to make me want to see and go through some of the supplemental materials. My overall rankings of the games I've played:

    1. Halo 3 ODST: I went into this with no expectations, being as it was a spinoff taking place between 2 and 3 and didn't primarily focus on Master Chief or Cortana. But holy fuck did this game surprise me. Easily my favorite of the games so far. Exploring the city at night in the aftermath of the Covenant invasion, learning about what happened to your squad, it has an almost noir feel in the atmosphere and music that brought something new and interesting to the series.
    2. Halo 2: I get the benefit of the remake version as part of the Master Chief collection, so I got it with all of the graphical and technical improvements. That being said...holy fuck is this a beautiful game to look at during the cutscenes. Everything from the original is improved from the gameplay to the story to the characters. Plus, Keith David, who plays The Arbiter, is always a massive win. But I swear to God, you ever blue ball me like that again with that ending, I will make you pay!
    3. Halo 3: From what I understand, Halo 3 is basically just Halo 2.5. They weren't able to finish the last part of Halo 2 on time, so they released 2 and basically made a whole game out of what was left. It does feel like that at times, but the stuff in the game itself is still entertaining and works. While it doesn't have that same spark (heh, get it, spark) as Halo 2, I do think it is a worthy conclusion and a satisfying ending to the trilogy. But it is definitely jarring to go from Halo 2 remake cutscenes, to Halo 3 cutscenes.
    4. Halo Reach: Some consider this the best game in the Halo series. From a gameplay perspective, yes I do agree. Like I said, they never deviated too much from the formula, but why overhaul what isn't broken. Instead the games have always just gave marginal improvements, but the ones offered here (fucking jetpacks and space battle level) do elevate it. That being said, with it being a prequel, you kind of know how the story is going to play out, so I didn't feel as invested in the characters and story as other entries. It did enough, but I won't really remember these characters after too long. Still good, but just not great like I was hoping.
    5. Halo Combat Evolved: The original game. It's definitely dated and its missions and maps are very repetitive (to the point where sometimes I just plain ran through areas to keep things moving). But it laid the foundation for what would come, and its legacy is cemented. Nothing impressive by today's standards, but an important piece in gaming history for what came after.

  • How do you feel about the official names and translation? I don't know all the details about the fan-translation but I do find it annoying how fans complain about the changes, ignoring the fact that it's called FAN-translation for a reason.

Glad you liked Investigations 2! That's my personal favorite game in the series, and it sucked that it didn't have an official English translation until last year. But I'm so glad it's available to everyone now.

A lot of the official names are great, I did like quite a lot of the fan ones, in particular I will miss Isaac Dover (Artie Frost), just because the delayed hit of "Iced Over" is really funny. But in general, there's no contest, the official names are generally well thought out and unique, you're not really going to see a name like "Fifi Laguarde" come out of most fan ideas.

  • Remember when we thought they were gonna release it LAST YEAR 😭

  • I especially think Eddie Fender is the best one, even the voice. Even if I grew up with the fan-translation, I still would have preferred it over Raymond Shields. That name to me sounds more like a Final Fantasy character. Not only does the new pun name suit his character, he also looks like someone that would be named Eddie.

WHOA DID ANYONE ELSE JUST SEE THE WOLF 2 UPDATE? I was NOT expecting the reveal that Wolf 2 was actually an April Fools joke the whole time but bravo Telltale, I WILL buy The Expanse Season 2!

  • Blind SniperBlind Sniper Moderator

On a non April Fools’ note - I’m stoked for the Switch 2 Direct tomorrow. Fingers crossed its around Xbox Series S or PS4 Pro levels of power (be it raw, or after AI upscaling)!

Alright so it's not just me that thought The Duskbloods was Bloodborne 2 right 💀

Legitimately a great Direct with a strong lineup, ports that don't look like a blurry mess, Gamecube games (INCLUDING FUCKING POKEMON XD: GALE OF DARKNESS AND COLOSSEUM), solid hardware, and performance but JESUS the pricing for the games really took the wind out of their sails.

  • I did consider buying a Switch 2 until the prices convinced me otherwise. The physical copies AREN'T EVEN physical because they give you a box with a download code. So basically, none of Switch 2 games are ownable.

That's actually a bit of a misconception, most Switch 2 games have cartridges, they even showed them off in the Direct. Hell, even Cyberpunk 2077 managed to fit on a 64 GB cartridge.

  • Yay, the website is back??

It's been super buggy for me the last week, either error codes or pages that are basically blank, but omg I can finally access a thread and stay logged in and hopefully this comment posts??
    Woohoo? 🥺❤️

  • Well, it still doesn't change they selfishly increased the prices, let alone never even discounting. It will cause discouragement for the parenthood.

An animated anthology Predator movie has been revealed and it looks fuckin' awesome

I am once again thanking Spider-Verse and Arcane for breaking the mold in animation.

Also ngl the art style reminds me a lot of the Game of Thrones game, especially the viking parts.

  • I actually had a dream that wolf 2 released next month and the entire game was doing nothing but walking around the city as bigby, never doing anything other than walking, and it got insanely high review scores

  • It's very off and on sadly :(

Fuck the fact that it's going to streaming. I don't understand why they insist on making new Predator films only for streaming. Are they really scared of box-office flop after Predator 2018?

This movie would have been so epic to see on the big screen, same with Prey. I wonder why 3 anthology stories in one film though. It could result in a rushed plot. But I love that we get to see different periods like feudal japan, world war 2 and vikings.

I'm a voice actress, for fun, as it doesn't pay enough to even report on taxes. I don't get the job that often due to there always being a sea of auditions. The only ones I ever picked up were the ones with a low non-union pay rate, as those are the ones with the lowest amount of auditions (plus I'm not eligible for the SAG-AFTRA jobs since I don't have a union card).

So I've never really been able to audition for anything I really wanted to do, but I just received an invitation to audition for one of my favorite indie clothing companies for an ad that will run on social media. It's no money maker as it's set at a $50 flat rate, but I really hope I get the job.

It'd be fun to hear my voice in the wild, since the YouTube algorithm does give me ads from this company from time to time.

  • With Prey it absolutely was the right call considering it released at the tail end of the pandemic, it would not have made any money. Plus it did incredibly well on streaming. Unfortunately animation isn't doing too hot right now in theatres outside of a couple outliers, and with Killer of Killers being as violent as it is, it'd probably do even worse so I get why they again didn't take the risk. At least Predator: Badlands is confirmed to be getting a theatrical release.

  • Hi everyone! As today is Palm Sunday (a week before Easter) I just want to say that Jesus died for our sins on the cross at Calvary and rose again so we could have hope of entering Heaven.

Romans 5:8 says ‘ But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.’

I would encourage you to visit your local church next Sunday to learn more (I would personally recommend Baptist churches).

I hope you all have a great week!

  • For those of you who follow Skunkape, they are releasing the Season 3 Remaster Soundtrack, which was an endeavor 15 years in the making. (Basically, this soundtrack finally being released is like the classic Telltale fandom’s version of Poogers getting his Rhys socks)

  • In light of the pagan origins of Easter, I would like to encourage more people to spend some time in beautiful natural environment, perhaps on a verdant meadow or near a forest brook where the birds sing. Beats a stuffy old church any day!

An Oblivion remake has been leaked with a number of images, and is expected to have a surprise release next week. They were found on the developers website (which they have since removed) so it's as legit as it can get lol.

Spoilered the images cause they're big.

It's over for me when this releases, I won't be seeing the light of day for a while.

  • Happy Easter! And 4/20. Man, those eggs in the basket are a little funny looking...
