i cant enter coupon code on monkey island

hi i cant seem to redeem my coupon code in monkey island chapter 1 its telling me its invalid or i cannot use it with this order i got it while treasure hunting in the mini game it should work it's legit.

    If I remember correctly, the treasure hunt coupons expired at the end of 2009.
    Some were converted to much less valuable coupons and probably lost their value entirely by now.
