If Clem got bit

edited September 2013 in The Walking Dead

What if instead of lee getting bit, Clem got bit! You would have to choose to cut her arm of or not.
What would u guys choose? I'd probably have to cut her arm off.

  • This is a valid question c'mon post

  • I don't even want to think about what I'd have to do if that were the case. But common sense would be to try to do everything in my power to save her. If it's certain that taking her arm would do it. However, doing it on a child without anesthetic would probably scar me forever. I can imagine little Clementine screaming and moaning in horror. God, don't get me started!

  • Patience! ;) The forums are rather empty due to people migrating elsewhere over the last few days.

Action would have to be almost immediate, like in the show Hershel situation, for it to having any chance of working. I don't know if I'd have the nerve to take it off within the time-frame required. I'd like to think I could, however.

  • Chop her arm off. Failing that, I take her somewhere quiet and... well... make sure it goes peacefully. Not letting her turn into one of THEM, no matter what.

  • Ask her of her thoughts on it, and if she wanted to, I'd cut it off. If it doesn't work, like Rock said I'd keep her last moments happy, un-stressful, peaceful ones(to the best of my ability). Afterwards, I'd take her out so she wouldn't turn.

  • I hate imagining this, bleeeh.
I too, would have to ask her what she wanted. I imagine she would want to live, and she's a strong girl. I would have to knock her out, or something, I definitely couldn't handle doing that with her awake. Not an ideal situation at all but it's life and death and I'd do anything to keep poor Clem from turning.

I got hurt by just seeing Clementine hurt her finger in the drugstore. Honestly, I couldn't get myself to do it.

  • Yeah I take it back, I'd never let this happen in the first place. :P

  • I'd attempt to suck the poison out.
I don't think I'd have the guts to cut her arm off. D:

  • Nope. Not cutting it off, it won't help like what happend to Lee.

    No, it would work.

Lee waited far too long, hours, before cutting it off.

  • If Lee amputated his arm seconds after he got bitten, he would have made it.

  • Well speaking for myself, I'd say cutting the thing off is the obvious thing to do. I understand why you might not, but as much as it pains me or her, it's a matter of life and death. Yeah, it would wrench my guts, and It'd be hard to do, but none the less I'd do it, so she could live on. An arm's of no use anymore once you're dead, is it now?

As Dildor said - before that, knocking her out (as gently as possible) is a smart thing to do.

  • There really isn't going to be a lot of time to get her opinion and/or knock her out safely and then get the damn thing off. What was the turnaround for Hershel, about a minute? If that.

Like I said earlier, I hope I'd have the fortitude to just get in and hack it off in time. No faffing about. I just don't know how well I'd do. At least it would be somewhat physically easier cutting through a 9 year old's arm.

  • True... Just step on the arm to break it like a twig and then slice through. Much easier than Lee's procedure xD

  • Jesus Christ Marksman, that's brutal.

  • Brutal, true, but practical. I think I need a Mark$man around in the ZA. I just don't want to ever get bitten around him P

  • Well... I could just use a bone saw, but it'd be hard to find one. And it'd definitely better than stomping your head in when you die, ain't it? Hasn't it been agreed that moral and the 'right thing' are all in the eye of the beholder? Breaking the bone first would save a lot of valuable time cutting through the arm, save pain in the long-run, and keep the person from losing as much blood as normally. Why? Not like you're using that arm anyway :P If you're lucky, maybe the broken piece from the elbow will be sharp enough to pierce walkers haha.
(Hey, I'd love to work for the team! As long as none of you have salt licks, I'm fine :D And you sound like you'd rather die than get your arm painfully cut off. It's the old-fashioned way, you know?)

I'm still in doubt. Is death a better experiene than having her arm cut off while in full consciousness? Especially on a kid. If I couldn't find any anesthetics in medical form, I'd probably make her drink a gentle amount of alcohol. I mean, there are bottles lying around everywhere. It wouldn't take long to get her little body affected. As Sick Octopus mentioned, it'll probably only take a split second to get through a nine year old's arm with the right tools. Still, very cruel, but it's a matter of life and death.

  • I think cutting her arm off would have been beyond intense. really sick, I mean think how dreadful it would be. kinda like Sophia. (Thinking) If I could cut Lee's arm off I could do the same for Clem..maybe

  • LMAO

  • Clem was very mature for her age but I don't think any child would agree to having their arm chopped off. :P
