It's not available from the TTG store though, because they aren't offering physical items for the moment. They will be in the future though.

Not an official announcement as such, but TTG have said a few times that they'd bring back the Season 1 DVD to the store at some point. No dates I'm afraid, but they'll get there at some point. It might be a while though, they're probably going to be a bit busy over the next few months.
And yes, the DVD will work fine on US computers. There's no region-locking on PC, so that's not a concern.
Finally, if you really can't wait, then there's this version on Amazon.com that comes out on the 19th that you may wish to consider.
There isn't? Whenever I try to play foreign DVDs, I have to switch my PC's region, and you can only do that a certain number of times.
I'm a bit confused, though. Isn't the link you provided exactly what I was asking about-a physical PC copy of Season 1?
Is that true for game-DVDs and such? I only had to switch the region for movie-DVDs so far.
And also, the season one DVD was out months ago. That's how I started TWD (and than bought it again in the TT store after 400 days came out). And that has been a while ago. Although I'm from germany. So I don't know if in foreign countries, they are a bit quicker than in the U.S., when they translate it to make it available physically in stores. I don't even know if there is actually a translation on there on my DVD. I never cared, and therefore didnt look for it.
OK, I get what I said was a tad confusing so allow me to elaborate.
First, when it comes to PC games, there's no Region Locking. It's only Console Games or Video DVDs that use region locking. As far as I'm aware though, the Telltale DVDs don't have any region locking at all, so don't worry about that.
Secondly, there's actually two different types of DVD. One is by Telltale themselves, and is the one you only had to pay shipping on if you bought the game from them. The OTHER is one sold by general retailers, which is what I've been providing links to. I don't know if Telltale themselves publish these or not or if they contain the same things as the TTG DVDs, but these are the ones that are actually available to buy/pre-order at the moment.

Not at all - they're perfectly legal. It's just that because Telltale is a developer, they have to get other bigger companies to publish their games in actual stores. The job would be far too big for them.
For example, while you can buy Sam & Max online directly from Telltale, the retail version of each season that you can buy in stores were published by Jowood, Atari and Lace Mamba Global respectively (in the UK, at least).
So yeah, perfectly legit.
Has anyone here played these version and can vouch for them?
I have retail versions of Tales Of Monkey Island, Sam and Max 1-3, Back To The Future and the Walking Dead. Never had problems with any of them. All purchased in germany or amazon.de
