Ever wish you could just slap Christa?
Everyone's already had a go at Kenny and Lily, but has Christa started to grate on your nerves in other playthroughs? Her self-righteous attitude and holier-than-thou cracks about my poor survivor skills really started to rub me the wrong way, to the point where I wish the game had let me ditch Christa and her boytoy while they were trying to hop on the train.
*"What the hell is wrong with you?! Is this how you protect your people?!"
"Nope. I just don't like you."*

I don't think I had much issue with Christa in my playthroughs, but I can see how some people could be put off by her introduction. She comes across a bit cold and lectures you about Clementine right after meeting you, but in a way, it sort of made sense with the idea of a future mother meeting a kid after so long and seeing her put into danger (unavoidable or not).
To be honest, neither Omid and Christa left a huge impression on me at first. After the chaos of losing half of the group I just sorta saw them as the "replacements." But I did warm up to them more in Episode 5, right before making them Clem's Godparents (kind of).
To be fair people not warming to Christa and Omid was the point ... People finaly learned that in this world you work with people, you fight together but you take a long time to really care about people as at any moment someone could die. The amount of loss made people feel like Lee and not really want to care about anyone else for fear of getting hurt
Oh and the OP i kind of feel I wanted to slap each of the characters at some point, particularly all of them towards the end of Ep2 for being so dumb.
No, but I would have liked to punch her. She did nothing but insult Lee or Kenny everytime she opened her mouth. I did everything to get rid of her, but she wouldn't stop giving me unwanted 'help'. I would have chose to punch her in the face by the end if given the choice, because I felt harrassed by her after doing everything I could to get away from her. I used silence as my last response and assumed she died on that roof. Christa and Omid are forced on you and are who the game is trying to make you choose to take care of Clementine with horrible writing. Even if you choose Kenny you tell them instead of him lol.
I never had any problems with Christa. Maybe I'm just too forgiving, but I didn't feel any urge to slap a woman just because she had a bit of an attitude.
How can you justify slapping a pregnant woman with "I just don't like you"?
Are you a caveman?
I never had anymore problem with her than I did with Lilly or Kenny. In fact, she's one of my favorite characters. Maybe its because she reminds me of my mom...
I liked Christa. She always said what she was thinking straight into your face. Yeah, she used to be bitchy at times but it was clear that she was just worried about everybody's well-being, especially Clem's. Her intentions were always good, the only situation I remember being pissed was her attitude when I helped her first and she was mad about it. Hello?! I couldn't help both and when it comes to serious situations you always give help to women and children first.
I mostly agree with you, except which seems better to save- a healthy woman, or a man with a badly injured leg? Now, keep in mind that at the time you couldn't have known she was pregnant...
Why does the fact she's a recently pregnant woman change anything?
The question is how can you justify slapping ANYONE with 'I just don't like you'?
It's one of those no win situations. No matter who you help she/he thinks that you should have helped her/his partner instead of her/him. Luckily no matter who you help, it doesn't affect to your relations with them. Although there is option not to help anyone, which probably does have some effect.
I had no problem with either Christa or Omid. Both seemed to be relatively reasonable characters compared to some other members of the party, who constantly whined about everything.
Maybe I haven't made myself clear: I meant the train situation when you have to choose between Christa and Omid. By that time I didn't know about her pregnancy, that's right, but AFAIR it wasn't clear that Omid hurt his leg so bad, so I chose the woman.
God power keeps my pimp hand strong.
He had just been shoved off an overhead and onto a train, which he smacked right off of. He was also limping very, very badly.
Yeah, it was no contest. 'Women and children first' doesn't apply when the woman is completely healthy and the man's physical condition means he could expect to find walking, let alone running to catch a moving train, an almost impossible feat.
I do wish that early on I had a chance to tell her where to stick her overtly judgemental attitude. A little, "If you don't like how I'm teaching this little girl, you and your boyfriend can feel free to hit the ol' dusty trail" would have been nice.
Abso-fuckin-lutely.
I think the fact that she is a pregnant woman makes it even worse.
Unfortunately for you (despite Kenny's assumptions) Lee isn't "urban". So it would be out of character for him to show her some corner boy attitude.
That doesn't justify being a bitch because she is pregnant. I didn't tell her to get pregnant so she would fuck and annoy the hell out of us, if I had the choice to push her off the rooftop of the hospital in EP5, I would have done it.
I personally didn't trusted Christa the first time I saw her and Omid. There was something off about her because of her obcession with Clem. But after a while I realized that's just her personality... I liked Christa, i mean, I prefered omid because he was funny, but I also liked Christa, she was just agressive in her attitude but I'm like that too. Specially during an appocalypse, where you have to shield yourself from everything and everyone

Didn't like her at first, then she grew on me.
I liked her but she was moody because of the baby. They all were human and had their flaws.
Seriously, that sounds a lot like the sort of thing Becca might say.
Im not going to say that I wanted to slap her but she did come off a little bit strong and a bit too judgmental for someone we just met. I grew to like her more as the game went on and I always liked Omid.
Christa got better as the game went along, but at first I wanted to slap her across the face. Mind you I don't condone violence against women. I just wouldn't be putting up with her attitude during a zombie apocalypse.
Why is it inherently worse?
It's not like he's slapping her uterus.
Becca wouldn't say anything that bad.
You would of been a dick for doing that.
Her bitchy attitude was grating on me as soon as I met her, and the way she all but told me that I wasn't taking care of Clem correctly, despite having kept her alive for months, just kept making me want to ditch her. Of course, once Lee got bitten and needed to find Clem, I was willing to forget about that stuff and give her another chance because she immediately volunteered to come. I never really became attached to her, not like I was to Kenny, Carley, or the others from the original group, but given enough time I might have been able to like her, She's not BAD, she's just bitchy.
Really? I wouldn't put it past her. She probably won't ever actually do it but I can see her making that sort of threat to come off as tough and hardcore.
Oh man, it just occurred to me how much I would enjoy having Christa meet Becca and calling her out on all her bullshit.
Okay let me to you all some stuff because quite frankly I cannot tolerate these kinds of responses to any characters, which is why I generally stay away from discussions centered around Lilly, Carley, or Kenny for instance.
So first off, just gonna explain a thing about pregnancy. Basically as soon as you got a babe growing inside you, hormones are all over the place. So yeah, there's going to be mood swings, and there's going to be anger. It doesn't matter how far along she is, it's gonna happen.
Second, she says a very important thing (at some point, forgive me for lack of pinpointing) about how Omid and her are surviving because they are two. They've probably dealt with groups before, and they were probably very negative experiences. We know next to nothing about these guys, and yeah, they were hardasses at first but you kind of have to be. You can't just go trusting everyone you meet, being nice to them and smiling. They'll stab you in the back (figuratively or literally) and screw you over. Take all your stuff? Yeah, if you're lucky. And who's to say that didn't happen to them? You HAVE to be careful, absolutely HAVE to.
Lee and Clem survived in the shack not because either of them were skilled, but because of pure luck. If it were Omid and Christa, EITHER of them, they would have known to check every corner before doing anything risky like splitting up. They're seasoned survivors, and it's sad to say but Lee's whole group kind of consisted of rookies, even by the end.
Christa is a really strong, really kindhearted woman. And even in the very beginning, she really wasn't too bad. She was tense, and extremely wary of strangers. Seeing this group had a happy healthy child with them was what convinced her to give them a chance. (She's a lot like Molly in that sense) She took to talking with Clementine and getting to know her. When you talk to her she's sassy with you. She gets mad at you in the shack ONLY because you and Clementine could have died. That's not being moody, that's being concerned over people you barely know.
She doesn't even yell at you in the train out of anger, it's out of panic and fear of losing the one she loves. She yells at you in the streets of Savannah because Omid injured his leg quite a bit, and it was kind of your fault whether or not you pushed him or not (because he'd push you instead).
Ah, anyway, I'd just like to emphasize that this is kind of another thing which people disliking a character for behaving realistically. I know it's hard to put yourself in an apocalyptic setting, but if you were there, you wouldn't be the friendliest either. So I'd just like to say, no, she's not really a bitch. But I would like to slap her.
Softly, and tenderly, slowly and with love. Because that is the only way to do it. Spread love, not hate, guys. ;;
EDIT: Accidentally double posted ;;
The only time I had a slight problem which was Lee's fault. Is the episode 3 at the tanker.
But she was at least understanding.
Omid is a good guy and does crack jokes at the most inappropriate times but that's why I like him.
These characters seem very realistic. Kenny I personally think being the most believable of the lot.
You're right. In the end it doesn't matter who you rescue, I just don't like being yelled at for helping. After that incident I liked her a lot, though.
-Becca, about the woman who taught her guitar
Is teaching someone guitar like a big deal?
Ok, I shall par you with
'......D:'
-Becca's face when the group decide to kill an absolute stranger
Eh, she's a teen. Loads of people try to appear bigger than they are when they are teens.
She could never actually go through with it, displayed by the look of horror when the group kills the man or the refusal to kill Stephanie herself.
She is a vulnerable girl who wants to seem tough.
She is not evil.
Well. Not yet.
It doesn't take much for that world to turn you into a monster and this is someone who's barely putting up a fight.
I think more correct way to say it is:
-Becca, about a woman who betrayed her friends and was willing to leave them behind without weapons and food.
That's almost certain death sentence during the zombie apocalypse, which is the reason why Shel killed Stef in my game.
