  • Season Two will probably be released the week after Spike's VGX on December 7th.

If this gets pushed into January with more "coming soon" I'm sure more people will start to lose trust in them. Lets hope that don't happen though, but on a happy note gonna predict maybe 3 weeks at max from today till release.

  • i agree with you 100 percent My guess it will be released in December according to Ign I am fed up with telltale I am to excited for this game Telltale get a actual release date stop telling us different release dates people are to excited for this game to start

  • It seems that there's just news coming VERY soon and not the actual game so I'm starting to think we won't see the first episode this year. If that's the case, then it's quite unusual for there to be such a gap in between seasons. I thought we would've been playing by October but I dunno. Oh well...Let's hope we find out something soon.

  • Wow... Yes the delay between TWDs1 ep 1 and 2 was awful.

The first press statement on TWD S1 called for a episodic game with new episodes released monthly. The second press release had that deleted and every 6 to 8 weeks on new episode releases.

Honestly though the very soon back in October was a awful mistake and they seriously need to address why TTG feels the need to mislead the fanbase. TTG missed a chance to be that next level gaming company IMO. I have pretty high standards though as no gaming company is what I consider next level in my mind.

If TTG could be more honest with their news it would benefit them. In October they should have said were in mid development of episode 1 and will be working hard on it. Don't expect a sizable update until the end of November early December....

BUT no.... TTG had to promote this "BIG NEWS" BS that was literally like 4 screen shots and a 5 second game play trailer of clementine.. That big news was just news nothing more nothing less......

were you not around for the initial season 1 ep2 2 month gap ?

  • From the great Eric Cartman: "Sir Kyle, pre-order doesn't mean shit, okay? When you pre-order a game, you're just committing to paying for something that some assholes in California haven't even finished working on yet. You know what you get for pre-ordering a game? A big dick in your mouth."

Yet some how this is how I feel with the slow drip of information and the big PREORDER sign that was flashed back in October from TellTaleGames.

That preorder option should have stayed in the bag until a launch trailer was close.

The thing that most bothers me is that Telltale don''t say anything to us about the game possibly have been delayed until next year, or the before Christmas have officially been moved to before the end of the year or not. Unless we still can trust in the Season Two FAQ. That Facebook post created alot of confusion, and they should fix that.

  • And you don't?

I think when it comes down to it that it would be refreshing to be given actual truthful news. NOT BS news with slogans like coming soon, soon, very soon, this fall, before Christmas, after Christmas, before New Years.

Just some darn factual news. Something like a "Still working on it. Had some problems that delayed the debut trailer that we wanted to post a few weeks after the teaser. Will provide a update once we are ready to submit for certification"

Anything real like that and TTG would be treating the fans right. Heck the fans would most likely be talking about how standup TTG is with giving out actual information. Instead it is a slap in the face to fans that a pre order sign was posted on a teaser trailer with the words "coming soon" back in October and we have heard nothing.

Just like Cartman says "pre-order doesn't mean shit, okay? When you pre-order a game, you're just committing to paying for something that some assholes in California haven't even finished working on yet. You know what you get for pre-ordering a game? A big dick in your mouth."

Thanks for the d!ck sandwich I guess.

I'll agree with that. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt when it comes to releasing it on time but that Facebook post did make it seem like they were trying to move the release window back. It didn't even say that the game was coming before the end of the year, only that news was coming before the end of the year.

As it stands, I still think that a mid-December release is most likely (17th maybe?). If there's a snag in development that would delay the game past Christmas, they should tell us sooner rather than later (especially since that's the assurance they gave their preorderers). Until they speak up, though, it's only fair to hold them to their previous word that the game will be released before the Christmas.

You know we have all been waiting for so long for this game. I've been around and played the first season back when the episodes where still coming out and have been eagerly awaiting Season 2. They give all these teases and say "Coming soon" and "SOON!" to those devoted enough to stick around. I'm honestly starting to not care anymore if it comes out or not now they say "Fall 2013" to "end of the year". Can't wait for the next week or two when we get the news of "next year" can't wait and I will care less and less starting to regret even pre-ording. They could at least give us something like oh I don't know "Hey guys we've sent the game in to Sony/Microsoft QA we can't make promises but the game is for sure coming in so and so rough estimate dates" but no to the loyal fans we have to sit back and wait for the game to be released in 2 days or so to actually get anything they don't care they've got their pre-order money..... It's okay Telltale I know it must be really hard to take a screenshot of a game every now and again no don't worry Telltale don't mind me I wouldn't want your employeese breaking their fingers trying to upload a few pictures online LOL.

  • I agree, They should at least give us a release date.

  • Did any of you ever consider they don't actually have an exact release date yet? And they are still haven't chosen and are choosing, no of course not. Because some of you need to have more patience in life and stop trying to rush them. Let them take there time and fix bugs, I don't want another invisible character and what not.

  • Here's my question fellas, is all this preorder business going on with Steam? I couldn't imagine it for PS3/Xbox since we could just download it.

  • I agree with you to a certain point, but you gotta understand that they're working on two games. And TellTale is not a HUGE company, so delays like these are to be expected. However, I too am getting fed up with this "coming VERY soon" nonsense we keep getting. An estimated release date would be nice, even if it wasn't 100% accurate. I personally think that they're going to release the second episode for TWAU before TWD S2.

  • This is seriously getting out of hand. But if it really is "very soon" then shouldn't we getting some actual info? Is the game still not submitted? That's BS. Enough of the soon shit. The first time they said soon was enough. But now they're continuing to say it as we are so starved for info and we see that all we got was a simple The Walking Dead: Season 2 is coming very soon, is starting to get to me. Days to weeks go by as we're getting nothing but soon.

I know Ep.5 was released a year ago, an 400 Days just a few months ago, but they said 2013 release and now that the fans and myself are starting to doubt a 2013 release knows you should actually put out real info. I know complaining and begging won't help, but this is really getting annoying that we get soon. We found new tweets, it's soon or re-tweets about some game co. saying "What's next for S2?" is annoying, repetitive, serious BS that i'm more than sure we've had enough of.

  • Or Episode 2 of TWAU....

The point I personally am trying to make is stop with the BS updates like coming soon, soon, very soon, fall 2013, before the end of the year, holiday season, ect, ect.

It is a slap to face for fans of the game. Just be honest about how the game is coming along. I don't even thing fans need a release date. Just the truth. Or news that is actual news.

What if the only actual news to give out is that the game's development is moving along just fine and there have been no bumps in the way to suggest that any delays will occur? In this case, would you prefer them to keep making these periodic updates that don't say much or would you prefer that they stop talking altogether?

If all you want them to do is tell you when the game has been submitted to Sony and Microsoft, in another thread, Vainamoinen offered a pretty good reason why that probably wouldn't and shouldn't happen:

Before TWD episode 2, this kind of 'announcement' was literally unheard of. Telltale didn't, EVER, tell people when their console builds had been sent in for approval. The reasons are plentiful. What if at the end of the approval process, the partners find that the build is insufficient and Telltale has a few things to amend? It wouldn't just be two weeks time then, and the worth of the information to the waiting fans next to nil. What DID happen mid 2012 when Telltale announced they've sent the final episode 2 builds to S&M and were 'waiting to hear back from their partners' was this: fans started trolling the official PSN and Xbox blog 'asking' for a release date in the same way you can see that shit right here. It looked not as if Telltale was informing their fanbase, but instead as if they were shifting guilt for the delay to their partners. Seriously, not the best PR.

As a result, I do not expect this kind of announcement to repeat anytime soon in the TWD franchise, ESPECIALLY not as the community impatience is peaking and overreactions are to be expected. And in fact I would advise Telltale to in no case do that again.

  • Nope I'm all good in the hood!

    And you don't?

  • I don't care when it's submitted. If they want to keep that confidential then cool. My thought process is do not offer a preorder option unless your ready to give some information.

I would embrace updates of the game development. Even if it was just business as usual. TTG could make a 60 second weekly youtube video on game development. Any game TWAU, TWD, any of their other games. That single employee position would get them embraced in the fan community.

  • Then they should tell us they sent it in already for approval LOL.

  • All I know is our company IT deployment team just came back to the home office. That was our last deployment trip out this year. Too many employees request leave starting this week until the end of the year. Just about all the employees here are taking between 10 and 20 days leave that has been stock piled all year. Most US companies make employees take use or lose leave before dec 31 because the hours will not carry over.

Bottom line this game should have been finished, submitted to 3rd part vendors, and certified already even if TTG was waiting until day X to release the game.

This time of the year is very hard to get employees invested in work. Most everyone is worried about visiting Santa, find out what gifts to buy for who, finding the best deals, who is making what for the holiday meals, where the meals will be, holliday cards, ect ect.

Any project manager will tell you the very worst time for employee production is now until mid January.

  • @thejoe

Did you preorder that sandwich bro?

"Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun."

  • They did give out some information. They offered the pre-order after the reveal trailer, in which they announced who the main protagonist was and showed off several screenshots of the game. This isn't a brand new IP with vastly different game mechanics. Anyone who would pre-order the game has presumably already played Season 1 and should therefore know what the game is going to be like. What other information could they can give out about the game without spoiling some aspect of it?

And as for your suggestion of these 60-second videos, what exactly would you want to be in them? This being a game based around its narrative, giving away details about "game development" would require giving out details about the story. Outside of that, all you'd get is stuff like "I spent 2 hours trying to figure out how to make a zombie face look more decrepit." Not exactly thrilling news.

  • Yeah I mean come on dude they hardly show us anything and then go tease us constantly. At the very least they could give us a few new screenshots every now and again (even if they are concept) and say something like "Hey guys we sent the game in to Sony/Microsoft QA we can't promise anything because at the end of the day it's up to them but the game SHOULD be out during so and so rough estimate dates".

  • Sorry if I but in but CiscoKidd81 has a point. Why start selling a product that's not even finished? I think the problem is that TTG are complacent that many gamers will still get the game because on how the gamers responded to it last year, which I think is a bad idea.
