Perhaps, but it is not a forgone conclusion. Another possibility is that Clem is separated from Omid and Christa (I am assuming she is alive for the sake of argument), and the over arcing goal of the season is for Clem to stay alive long enough to find them.
In this case, it allows the player to have some hope that Omid and Christa are still alive, but still leave uncertainty as to their fate and if Clem will survive long enough to find them. That is a lot better than merely killing them off as it adds more tension to the story and more emotional investment for the player.
For all we know Clementine has changed drastically from Season 1. If anyone has played The Last of Us on PS3 (Spoilers Follow) Ellie, one of the main characters, was playable for a section of the game. She was very capable of handling herself (Killing especially) and in my opinion that was the best part of the game. Maybe Clementine has become more of an Ellie character.

I seen a tweet from Job Stauffer on twitter sayong how they are putting the finishing touches on the episode and another one saying how he just finished a playthrough of the first episode,it has to be coming soon,also when I saw the picture I almost cried tears of joy seeing Omid with Clem.
I wonder who will take care of who... Omid will take care of her or she will watch out for him? I honestly can't say. The most predictable scenario states that Omid will protect her, but I don't know, Clem have a really strong personality...
