TwD 400 days later - Talia works for the governor?

edited December 2013 in The Walking Dead

Sorry if this have been covered but I just finished 400 days and all I could think is that Talia is innocently gathering people for The Governor's city. What do you guys think?

Comments

  • Maybe, although if it were the governor/someone like the governor I think they would just kill anyone who didn't join them. I'm just happy that my dream team (Vince, Wyatt, and Russell) is together at the camp. I hope we get to see the camp in season 2.

  • If its woodbury i'll really be dissapointed its been done before we dont need to see the same people again. Before or after the gov goes after ricks group or even an alternate universe gov everyone would know who he was, an element of mystery is needed.

Has anyone thought that Tavia might be another ambassador from the Hilltop Colony led by Gregory from the comics ? (http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/Hilltop_Colony SPOILERS in that link if you haven't read the comics)

I fear for Clementine if she has to meet Negan though .... But it could really be amazing, Negan is as wicked as the Governor so it could give pretty interesting outcomes.

What do you guys think ?

  • I don't think it will be Negan. It wouldn't be interesting knowing that the group will not stop him and either flee from him, die because of him, or submit to him.(Although if they flee early on and form their own survival group for the rest of the season, that could be interesting).

  • Hilltop and the Saviors are in Virginia though. Don't think Clementine and company would go there anyways.

  • I hope it isn't the Woodbury or the Governor but someone like the Governor.

  • For the plot sake i HOPE it is the governor and it somehow leads into his final hours and the attack on the prison. this would be EXCELLENT and pause-able. we could FIGHT rick and the survivors and then decide to stay and help kill them or leave.

  • Ostensibly working for the Governor in season 2? I'd squeal like a little girl at the prospect of that.

The only way it could be handled right, though, is if the Governor was a figure we interacted with only rarely - as changing his opinions would be impossible for canonical reasons.

  • Bro, you nailed! It would be awesome! I don't know what I would do, tho, 'cause Rick is really, REALLY annoying to me. On the other hand the Governor is hell on earth and since I'm playing Good Lee and Good people on 400 days, I would probably end up lining with Rick's crew.

  • ON a time table...

If we put 400 days and TwD (TV) side by side, what was happening on the TV Show on the moment Talia met the group? Governor was still rulling? Woodbury was still in one piece?

  • Wait, the game is canonical with the comics (although, canon is up for debate, seeing as Kirkman can't follow his own in the novels). I know TT said they'd try to implement a few elements from the TV show, but I don't think that'll mean having the game switch canons. Maybe something like adding in an alternate version of Daryll (which I support).

I see why they'd have to shift, though. The Survivors were in the prison for a year at most (attack included), and it has been at least a year and a half by the end of 400 days, more so by season 2.

    Hm. Conundrum.

Well, Virginia is situated in the North of Savannah, at the end of 400 Days Tavia says something like "I'm a scout for a growing settlement up north" and she DOES have a working car. It's a long shot but it definitely could be that in my opinion.

    So many questions.

Ah, didn't remember Tavia mentioning "up north." Yeah, she has a car, and they could drive up there I guess.
But can you really radio someone in another state? Or do you think the other scout she talked to has their own car and will eventually drive north?

    Yes, so many questions.

  • 1 year = 365 days (366 leap year)
    400 Days = 400 days (obviously)
    400 - 365 = 35
    1 month = 28-31 days
    18 months = 547.5 days
So 400 days is roughly 13 months and 1 week, not 18 months or a year and a half. If Season Two of the game occurs after 400 days, we're probably looking at 13 1/2 to 14 months in. If it's before 400 Days, then it could be at any point between around day 180 and 400. Season One ended like 6 months into the outbreak. Makes you wonder what Clementine was doing from the end of Season One to the start of Season Two. If she was on her own for a good 7 months, she certainly knows how to survive by the time Season Two starts. Certainly no doubt there that she'd be very capable.

Game is canon to the comics so the TV show can be ignored. As to where the comic lines up with the game, I have no idea. Don't read the comic personally so what I do know is from the wiki. I just watch the show and play the Telltale game. From what I know, though, the comic occurs over a faster time frame than the show does so by roughly a year into the story, the group would likely already out of the prison and onto the next area. Lori got pregnant with Judith early into the outbreak and they died not that long after Judith was born. So by the time Lori died, it's maybe a year into the story. If Season Two is after 400 days, Rick's group will most likely be out of the prison already and heading to Washington, DC.

I doubt we'll see anything referenced to the comic outside of maybe running into pictures or something. Perhaps the remains of the prison might be seen. Maybe we end up back at Hershel's farm for a short period just after Rick and his group leave the second time or just before they came back. We saw it in Episode 1 so it could potentially make a comeback like it did in the comic. I know the TV show has a reference to the game (Michonne pointing at Macon on a map), but I doubt the game will have a strict reference to the TV show. I'd love to see Daryl myself, but then I'd want him to become part of the main game cast and then he'd steal the show ... er, game.

If you really want to match it up to the TV show, the group would still be sorting out life at the prison, and yeah, Woodbury would still be around. Probably looking at roughly the time the Governor attacks the prison the first time at the end of season three.

Game really can't come out soon enough. Certainly will help tie me over until the show returns next year.

  • Let's hope it's a different group altogether. I would like to see the comics, games, and TV show go in different directions. It's neat if they ever cross over, but the zombie apocalypse is huge, people. Worldwide. Oooh. Just had an idea.

There are a million different stories in this City of the Dead. This one is mine. It all started that night she shambled into my office, looking like death warmed over.

    Zombie Noir!

  • Anybody who didn't join the assault are probably still there waiting for the governor to return.

  • During the "heading to DC" arc, Rick or Morgan mentions it's been a whole year since Rick left Cynthiana, KY when he returns to the town for the weapon supplies with Abraham.

  • it is mentioned but never seen again

  • I know it's a safe bet that something will go wrong with Tavia's community if we end up going there mid-season, but I'd honestly be a bit disappointed if the ambiguity of it was ruined by the clear forewarning of "Welcome to Woodbury." I want to learn things as they come.

  • Hell no! I would not like to see Govener again. He was totally annoying. But I look forward too see Kenny in Season 2. ;)

  • I imagine the head-tanks would surprise them. Hell, maybe even Omid can give a shout out to the Governor's comment how there's nothing good on TV by saying: ''nothing but brainless morons on TV these days''. Maybe even find the remains of the governor somewhere.

I reckon it would be quite interesting to see clem and the group discover Woodbury after everyone has left

  • Okay i'm not one of those people who complains but why does this have to go back to Kenny? People who are complaning abut this have a point this thread has literally nothing to do with him yet people keep bringing him up
