Season 2 Story Theory
After witnessing the trailer as well as some screenshots for the Walking Dead Season 2, I came up with a rough idea for the storyline. This is based on what I saw and also what I would like to see.
The general story is that after many months, the three remaining survivors (Clem, Omid, and a fully pregnant Christa) have been surviving in the countryside from the walkers, but need medical help for Christa's baby. Along the way, they stop at Gil's Pit Stop from 400 days and find evidence of a settlement. They either meet the remaining survivor(s) from 400 days or find other evidence that suggests a community of people. Hoping to find a doctor, they head for the settlement. Unfortunately, something happens that causes Clem to get separated from Omid and Christa and now has to survive on her own with the help of some new friends (or enemies).
Sometime throughout the story, one of the St. Johns (provided you let one of them live) join with some other cannibalistic friends to get revenge for the destruction of their farm, and begin to target Clem and her friends. This will explain the origin of the cannibal family from the comics that hunt and eat Dale's leg.
Some comic characters I would like to see include an early version of Negan before becoming a sadistic tyrant, a younger more vulnerable version of Michonne just before she gained her two "pet" walkers, Morgan, and considering the wish to encorporate TV characters, a comic version of Daryl or Merle Dixon.
What do you guys think should be in Season 2?

I heard someone say it was 2 years later ?
I'd like to see Kenny and Lilly
I'd like to see the governor appear at some point.
I on the other hand hope there won't be any connecting with comics or TV show (directly).Keep TWD like TWD.
Issue with tying things too closely to the comic such as the cannibals that ate Dale's leg and the St. John's is that it can result in it becoming non-canon with a minor alteration. Lily was intended to be the same one from the comics but due to the novels (if I recall), that ended up changed. Hershel and Glen are still from the comic but even Hershel was changed due to his children changing. Game Hershel only has us see one son and no mention any others while comic Hershel did have more children. TV Hershel was also different since he had his two daughters and a step-son. Believe all of his children in the comic were his.
Ultimately, it's just easier to keep things separate with maybe mentions of the comic or perhaps the same locations used such as Hershel's farm. Characters are just too iffy and easy to change.
With Daryl, as much as I want to see him, he'd just steal the show out from Clementine. He's too loved from the TV series to be demoted to sidekick even for half an episode only to poof afterward. People would get disappointed with how he's portrayed or his lack of screen time. Best that he's just left out. Maybe find a crossbow like his or something that you can use at one point, but I'd rather not see Daryl.
The Easter eggs for the comic are rather fun to find, I'm sure, but I'd rather they're just kept as subtle references such as characters mentioning locations, maybe a picture we can find, etc but leave other more solid references out just so canon isn't broken like it was with Lily and to a lesser extent Hershel. The game needs to stand on its own and not need the comic as a crutch to help explain things.
I like it better when TTG makes their own characters. The tend to make their characters more interesting. About the St. John thing, i think TT will confirm the fate of the brothers if you spared their life. Especially Andy, i liked that character.
Agreed. this would make a FANTASTIC story arc of some sort
I really don't want to see any comic or show characters in Season 2. At this point, the game can stand alone and I think it should. An occasional reference or cameo would be fine but I much prefer it when Telltale can create characters and do anything they want to them. If Negan or The Governor turns up we know they're going to survive. If the leader of Tavia's community is someone we've never seen before and turns out to be an evil tyrant then we might get a chance to kill him.
Clementine is possibly going to be injured, in a story relevant way.
Gentlemen, I am officially worried. We all remember how bad Lee had it starting out in his first episode.
Damn, I gotta start reading the comics!
That you do they are AMAZING
or her... I think and evil female character would be a nice twist. We only really had Brenda st john
Season 2 will start as a flashback from the car crash (in Clem's view)
That would be cool but i don't think it should start like that.
I'm going to paste what I said in a similar thread :
First I'd briefly cover how Clementine got out of Savannah and meet up with Omid & Christa. Then I'd do a slideshow of some pictures showing a few events that happened during their journey to Gil's stop (separated by staff credits and music for extra classy points). After that I'd have the "real" story starting by Omid and Clementine coming back from scavenging areas (that screenshot revealed a few days ago) asking her how Clem felt about everything that happened until now for recap purposes, explaining why and how they ended here in the process (Christa's pregnancy!! Hoping for that one).
As for the plot itself I'd say taking care of Christa with Omid. At one point later on, during a run for provisions having Clem seperated from Omid by a walker attack. The episode 1 could end with Clementine alone in the forest (you know, that screenshot where she looks at Lee's photo) or just barely saved by that white-bearded stranger we saw in the screenshots, carying Clem on her back, she loses consciousness and ... BAM
Episode 2 trailer. How's that sound ?
I think you are waaaay off.
I agree. It has enough clout now to stand on its own, for sure. But cameos are definitely fun.
I think that Negan or Governor could easily have a cameo, though.
I imagine that season 2 will be about getting to the group of survivors, or about being there just as things are messing up. The last episode, the last five minutes or so, we could see one of these two kind of gather a small group of people together and strike out on their own. That MIGHT be an interesting way to show one of them without the whole thing being about them. Having said that, I do think that people would be really disappointed, and that would set it up for season 3 to be more about that group. (Which, with the TV series, is already so over done lol.)
The voice on the radio sounded like a man, and I'm assuming he's the one in charge. But yes, a female antagonist would be pretty cool.
nope, it has been roughly 10 months.
