This is a very good observation, but isn't the Friday the 13th an unlucky day? So I am a bit skeptical on that release date. Although Steam probably just put a release date out there for the sake of a date, December 17th looks like a very plausible release date. Here's why:
On midnight of December 3rd Telltale said that they were putting the final touches to the first episode of the second season. It usually takes around two weeks for PSN, Xbox, and ESRB to approve, and the 17th is exactly 14 days away from that day.
Yesterday (December 4th) Stefanie Fogel said that she was going to interview Telltale a week from then, making the interview on the 11th. If we were to go by the 13th release then the interview would be of little use. An interview needs a week, or at least a couple of days for the majority of their audience to get time to view it and be pumped for the game.

The wait is driving me nuts, and I can't speak for everyone else, but I'm assuming it's driving them nuts too. Just let us have our fun with our theories and Kenny fans, we know where to check for announcements.

Eh, why is everyone so excited? She didn't say it would come out next week, she said her article will come out next week.
I'll genuinely chuckle if next week's news will consist of "Season 2 should be here soon." too.
If the release date have been leaked, on both IGN and Steam, I think Telltale would have confirmed the date by now as well. But they probably will early next week, along with a trailer.

I'm gonna go ahead and say we know its coming out first already, so shall I start a petition to release TWAU first and roll out a red carpet for those fans for joining us? No one is cutting in front of anyone, TTG is laying it out as intended.
Wow, thanks for something I didn't already hear. I didn't say it wouldn't, but what I am saying is, "Does it really matter?" It's coming out, … moreand we know this month. Whether you get it a week before, or a week after TWAU episode 2, we ARE getting it. To think such a game means that much one would want to cut in front of another in terms of games. Don't worry about it, I understand excitement. I'm checking almost everyday for the release, but it will come out lol. Let the other gamers have some enjoyment too, since Fables is an excellent franchise.

I doubt Steam would post a specific date like that, if it was going to land them in trouble. Telltale's going to have to bite the bullet on this one and make an official announcement very shortly.
