Am I the only one who's okay with waiting?

edited December 2013 in The Walking Dead

Okay first ,,, dont kill me

But I'm okay with the waiting. I know its a bit of a hassle but all games require some waiting for the game to release particularly with episodic games as people have a desire to finish the product however raging about it and hating on other projects dosn't make the game come out any faster (as a lot of people are doing). I didnt pre order the game as I knew it would irritate me to pay for something I couldnt have now.

The game is still on track to be released before Christmas which is the release date they have had since the game was announced. People seem to be getting mad over the fact there is no release date but also that they havnt released when they said they would (which clash completely) plus people are also complaining there was no word at an event where no news was even promised.

It's still only a year since season 1 was released and I'm pretty happy we are getting season 2 this soon and if I have to wait some more for a great product I don't mind.

So yeah sorry for the long post but I just felt that I'm okay to wait and I noticed loads of people are getting really angry , so does anyone actually agree with me or am I alone here?
:/

  • I just want to know what's going on with the Vita release and hate that they keep making promises and getting our hopes up, while ignoring the issue. Waiting is one thing, but don't tell me I can play it before Christmas if that won't be the case. I also don't want to have this one spoiled for me by us getting it later than everyone else, because spoilers are rampant around here.

I agree to be honest. As far as TWD is concerned TellTale is still in time for their previsions, they said fall 2013 OK, then they said before Christmas, it's still OK. I really don't see what's the big deal, sure the lack of communication is a bit unnerving but I personally have seen worse, much worse than that. So long as they respect their deadline there is nothing you can really reproach them.

And this is coming from someone who's waiting for a certain MMO called Blade&Soul to release in EU/NA (waiting since 2007) and NCSoft didn't give any news since December 2012, they even recently deleted the facebook page about it... So yeah, I've seen much worse than this. It's understandable, TWD was an excellent game and everyone wants to play it so they keep hoping for things (news at VGX when no one ever said there'd be for instance) and then get angry because they didn't get anything.

TWAU fans however have all the rights in the world to be angry at TellTale at the moment, keep faith friends!

  • No you aren't the only one, though we are few and far between. It's like everyone complaining about waiting has only just started playing games the last year, and have not seen what rushing games can do(case in point Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 3) rushing games is not in anyway good. If Telltale want to take another 6 months then I'm 100% fine with that if the game is great. Where as if they rushed it and released it 6 months ago(like a lot of fans on this board seem to want) then I'm 100% sure the game would have failed to live up to expectations set.

  • No rage here. I'm certainly very excited and anxious to play, but my life or my hobbies don't revolve around it.

  • Im with you. I just cant work up the energy to get that angry knowing we're going to get The Walking Dead sometime within the next week or so and Wolf probably not that long after. We're going to get our games sooner rather than later.

  • Yeah patience is a skill only a few people have. ;)

  • Ya waiting is fine, we know they're not fantastic at deadlines, but they are fantastic at making a great story. I understand people get frustrated when deadlines pass but TTG is a company and they're working hard to do everything they can.

  • But... who says we wont be playing it before Christmas? If we go past Christmas I agree people can get pissed off but we havnt yet and nothing suggests we will.

  • But nothing confirms we will, either. Even if we do get it on Vita before then, there will be a part of me that is mad, because Telltale didn't bother to tell us one way or the other.

  • I do find the huffing and puffing about this issue strange. Once I budgeted the pre-order I was content to sit back. I'm interested enough to come to this board and discuss the game, since I avoided finishing it because I found it emotionally wrenching and now can safely discuss the whole game. But the amount of grousing and bellyaching over the release date, vae mihi.

  • The disgruntled are usually the more verbose.
People are more likely to speak up and complain about something than to compliment something.

I'm also okay with waiting. :)
