The Walkers
You know, I have been thinking about the walkers for awhile. We all think that they're just normal zombies who are dumb and move slow but what if the walkers are actually alive inside? Like the people who became walkers are alive inside but they can't control their bodies because of the infection and all they can do is watch as their dead bodies eat people.
But this is just a theory so don't bash me.

I said this was just a theory. I din't say that this is actually true. Just wanted to hear other people's opinions.
meh... even if this was true posting HERE is a bad thing to do. tell tale can do NOTHING to change the whole zombie thing. only kirkman can do that
It isn't cannon, but the show's take on the infection was that whatever causes reanimation only activates the most basic functions of the brain. What you were is gone. You are left a husk that walks and has the instinct to eat.
Sounds like the zombies from Half-Life 2.
When you die you fall into a very deep sleep you don't wake up from. After that your brain cells are slowly dying off together with every bit of information in them (personality+knowledge) and what's left is a hollow corpse. The zombie virus that brings you back to life presumably only activates the brainstem and makes you feel hungry. That zombies are only interested in living "flesh" has probably to do with how the virus maintains the basic vital functions without the need of oxygen since flesh contains many proteins.
I always wondered this whilst playing, As I thought about I saw Lee as more A hero, Like he was freeing those who were suffering, If there really was somebody alive in there they wouldn't want any of this, and having missing limbs and dirty wounds must sting like hell.
That question's been asked a lot actually. Herschel in The Walking Dead, and Sam in The Last of Us. But everyone else always answers No. They are not alive anymore.
