I don't believe it was ever confirmed as Winston. The original image posted on twitter that showed the character had been titled WinstonFight.jpg (I'm a bit too lazy to look up the source) and thus people had assumed the character's name was that. It could also have been that the fight was taking place IN Winston, which is a small town near Atlanta. However, since no name has been confirmed, it seems the most easy to refer to him as Winston rather than that-dude-in-the-image-titled-WinstonFight.jpg-from-that-one-twitter-post.
I'm kinda inclined to agree with the idea that he's someone with decent intentions who's trying to stop Clementine from running off so he could talk to her and/or stop her from hurting herself. I mean, he pretty much yanks her away from the edge of the cliff at the last minute and if he'd wanted to hurt her it seems more likely that he would've done something along the lines of hitting her whilst here he's just trying to restrain her by holding her arms in place. I could be wrong, but it's my personal theory.

I have all the trust in the world that telltale could make a scene with sexual violence and not make it stupid or some guy grabs Clem and unzips her coat and she kills him and then it is over.
Heavy rain and beyond two souls both had sexual like violence I think beyond two souls is a far better example in the beyond two souls you play as Jodie who's about 16 in the chapter "like other girls" ( she has a supernatural werid thingy) she goes to a bar and some older guy is kind of hitting on her. Then puts her up on the pool table and the other guy grabs Jodie's arms and pushes her down. That is as worse as it gets because then you stop it. In other chapters later in her life if you want to have you know with another guy you remember what happened to you at the bar and you can't.
I think that telltale could do sexual violence and have it haunt clementine in later chapters. I don't think she should be raped or naked (ew no ) Jodie wasn't naked she was fully clothed. That could of been sexual assault we don't know. The world that clementine survives in is fucked up and we have to be prepared anything can happen.
I don't really see how I mean this takes place in the zombie outbreak where people are going crazy they are running into the streets and getting killed. They've already inferred rape before with Jolene and Danielle. Jolene was most likely raped as she calls the bandits "raping monsters" and Travis saw his classmate raped by the bandits. Beyond two souls takes place in our time and they did not infer it before they did it. And they still made it feel in place so I think it wouldn't be a bit easier for telltale to do the same.

I doubt it. The Walking Dead's purpose is to break taboos. Also, they could make it so no matter what you do, Clem doesn't get raped. Perhaps if you fuck up when Winston's holding you down by the river, Cabinman comes along and tries to shoot him.

that's what i was thinking but since people actually join without finishing the game, i just put it out there

How do we know his name is Winston?
Telltale mentioned it
Look at @Zurrdroid 's comment at the bottom lol
The Hat Bandits...

I must be one of the people that call him that-dude-in-the-image-titled-WinstonFight.jpg-from-that-one-twitter-post then. :P
In the comics version of TWD at one point Carl almost got molested, Rick intervened before that could happen though. I think he was referring to that.
How dare they !
That's one of em
Why don't you just read em there great
Telltale is unpredictable
It's possible Winston is helping her or trying too..

I think that, even if executed well, that would just feel really out of place. But, that's just my opinion.
yeah i think i will read them, thanks!
These hat people from the woods are worse than the Save-Lots Bandits. One second you'll have your favorite hat on, next minute it's gone.

Whatever telltale is gonna make with this scene, I believe that they will do it right.
:O what did they do to her hat?!
They...wore it. shudders
I just saw something in the intro to 400 Days..
I'm not saying this is Clem's hat, but... it's got a D on it...
The Hat Bandits!

oooh i thought it was something about season 2!
HE GOT THE D.
