How do I know S2 has my saves?

edited December 2013 in The Walking Dead

I played S1 on Steam, 400 days from Telltale (read the saves fine), and now I've started up S2 via Steam but I'm not getting any kind of indication that it's got my saves? I know they're all there in the folder, but in Season 2 all of the save slots show as empty. How can you tell that the game has found your saves? And if it isn't, what can I do?!

  • When you start a new game, it'll tell you it'll try and load your S1 saves.

  • I'm not seeing anything like that. In My Documents I have 'The Walking Dead' which contains 75 .save files. When I first pressed play it showed some postcards (of what looked like the final post credits scene from S1) loaded for a second then goes to the start chapter screen, does that mean it's loaded my files or what? There doesn't appear to be any indication that it has, my save slots are all empty in Season 2.

  • You need to actually start a new game in Season 2, and then S2 will search for existing S1 saves on its own.

You don't need to find anything.

  • Ah! Got it - "Save file found" :) Appreciate the help. I didn't want to hit start and have it start a game which then get's synced to Steam Cloud etc without knowing it had imported all my stuff.

  • Okay, should I get All That Remains on PC, then get it on PS3 later with the rest, its only £3 but the experience on PS3 seems somewhat better in my opinion, but how do I know if it will lagg or not? I know there's requirements but I don't know how to check them, I can play Facade and SCP but Surgeon Simulator beta lags, so will my computer work? Its a shame, its worth £1000.

  • You can't get just the one episode on PC - it's the whole season or nothing.

And I'd say go for the PC version. Your system specs seem more than adequate. ;)

  • How do you know though? Is it because I can play Facade and SCP that you knew or what? But if I have to get the whole Season on there then no way, I guess PS3....

  • On Steam The season two cant find my season one saves. It says it's unable to find them even though I finished it days ago and even the dlc. This freaking sucks.

  • Just wanted to throw in that I am having the very same problem as well, wondering if anyone has found a solution for it yet.

  • I am also having the same issue, but haven't been able to get an answer yet.

I just make a thread in the support forum to help you guys with savegame import issues. Please post the requested information in there.

  • You guys remember the Season 1 episode selection screen? The season 2 game has the same menu, right after you click the "Begin" button or whatever for episode one, it will start searching for saves.

    Looks like this
