Do my decisions last season carry over?

I was expecting to see each previous save slot with an option to continue. I played through the game three times. First with how I would make decisions, Second with Lee being really hard on Clem to toughen her up, then third for Lee just being a jerk. I wanted to see how each different type of play style would affect Clem but it doesn't look to be that case. Am I missing something here or are we all really just starting with a clean slate, all starting at the same beginning in Season two?

    Start a new game and S2 will say that it's searching for S1 save games.

    Ok, thank you! Guess I jumped the gun. Just wanted to make sure everything was right before starting.
