  • I agree, i liked him but once he attacked me I felt little for him. I put it out of its misery

Also do you not find out its called sam unless you check the tag? I've seen playthroughs and clem dosnt call it by name however if you check the tag she calls it sam constantly.

  • spoiler in the title... oh well i tried to remind people to be respectful

  • Yeah you have to check the tag, it's meant to give it more of an emotional bond right before they have you kill it.

  • I didn't check the tag but in a camera angle when he gets impaled you see the name on the collar anyway.

Maybe people find it sad because they lost a dog/animal themselves, even if it attacked. I know that it's how I feel, especially considering my dog was called the same, brought back something I hoped I'd never remember.

  • It just says the dog... thats not much of a spoiler or did someone change it?

  • The moment it became a threat, my bond with it was severed.

  • I thought it was one of the weaker parts of the episode personally. The dog character would have been better used if they had it bond with Clem, rather than turn on her. It also wasn't very realistic dog behavior.

  • Loads of dogs get REALLY aggressive when it comes to food often showing a complete mood swing and when you think how did that dog make it so far if it was so cutesy

  • The first thing I think of when seeing Clem got bitten:
"It won't be nice having rabies now!"

  • There are dogs that have food aggression issues, but dogs have a whole range of signals they go through before they attack. Rather than going straight from dropped food to mauling, the dog would have growled, showed teeth, raised its hackles, ect. It would have tried to claim the food and assert its dominance over Clem before attacking her. And even when dogs do attack, there is a whole range of behavior before you get to mauling. A dog might snap or give a warning bite for example.

The dog attack just didn't have the ring of believability in the way it played out. Now had it growled at her first, showed its teeth, snapped at her, and Clem still tried to claim the food...sure, maybe then I can see it playing out the way it did.

Ive had it happen to me when a dog is underfed sometimes instinct takes over. I still felt bad when it got impaled.

  • Hey I'm a huge animal person - I know you've gotta do what you've gotta do, but it doesn't make it any easier. I love dogs and I was hoping Sam would be a potential companion for Clem, so it was hard having to put him down. But I guess times were hard on Sam too and not like he knew to trust Clem. I just find it sad because animals don't know what they're doing, not to mention it was hard on Clem. It was clear she felt upset about having to see that too - Sam was so cute. :(

Man this game makes me have too many feels for fictional people. :p

  • I didn't want to kill him. I have a real soft spot for dogs. But in the end, I couldn't leave him there to suffer and felt the best thing to do was to put him out of his misery.
    Poor Sam.

  • Who's crying? Not me. I wanted to eat it.

  • I was surprised at the dog attack because I thought she'd have a buddy with her now. I even called it when she first heard him in the bushes I said "she's going to find a dog to be her companion." Once the dog attacked though I knew it was a setup for people to think she'd been bitten by a zombie. It really does setup the rest of the episode.
