Or start by the camp fire and have both Omid and Christa there and when Winston and the group are attacking them, you would have the choice between saving Omid or Christa. Then one or the other runs away presumably to be seen later in the season.
Just a pre-emptive thank you for keeping spoilers out of the thread title and for tagging your post.
You've NO idea how pleasant it is to s… moreee the first thread discussing this follow the rules to the letter.
Anyway. Yeah, it's... it's mean. There'll be plenty of character development with new people, but this just felt... Un-necessary.
Omid unconfirmed, get unhype for Omid. I didn't think it was so much lazy as it was a episode starting gut punch but I understand how everyone here feels, I loved Omid.
Actually yeah, there is no way to prevent him from dieing? That was the very first thing I thought after seeing that scene. As they simply slapped us with Omid's death,I thought it was a consequence of not giving her the hat or something similar.
Bad writing ? Hardly when are you people gonna learn this is the walking dead its not a happy sappy freaking fairy tell or teeny bopper drama … moreits a dark and gritty drama.Characters are gonna die and the last i seen and heard this season about clementine not omid or krista its about a little girl trying to survive.
I saw it coming as soon as he opened the door. I was like, "JUST GRAB THE GUN! HURRY! Oh no... the door! GO GO GO- NOOO! Dangit woman, when I get that gun Clemmy's getting- Oh hello Christa, I suppose- Oww? Well then... Nice shot?" So sad... TBH I'd rather have Omid alive than Christa, but from the looks of it neither of them made it
Aye,but gap between EP1 and EP2 was 3 months, and everything was pretty much explaind. In S2 though, the gap was 16 months, and nothing was explained.16 months is like 3 Season 1's...what the hell happened during that time?Who have they met,who did they lose,etc.,etc.,etc.We never get to see what exactly happened to Christa's baby, why did Christa lose all the hope all of a sudden, and what happened that cause Clem's character to change to much.
The bits about skipping without telling you the whole story was very similar to the jump between S1E1 and S1E2 though, where the raid on the A… moreir Force base was just skipped and we were forced to tell ourselves the story, because there was no reason to tell us when making us fill in the gaps ourselves was more interesting.
Aye,got the mouse indicator disappear too....also,not sure if anyone else encountered that, but while entering Sarah's room,Nick base model was standing there the entire time, with Clem moving through it in conversations.
So true Araron! I agree with all 10. Also I had to restart at one point in the game because my mouse indicator disappeared and couldn't sele… morect a dialogue option. I liked the dialogue selection options from Season 1 when clicking on 1-4 was also available.
OMG what a stupid thread -_-
Did you ever read a Walking Dead comic book in your fucking life ???
EVERYONE DIES, THERE IS NO HAPPY END, THAT'S THE POINT OF THE WHOLE FUCKING THING................
A character not acting how you want them to act or acting in what you think the most rational way doesn't make it unrealistic. People dying easily preventable deaths are also not unrealistic
Anyway the girl had a gun pointed right at Clem if Omid jumped on her the gun might have gone off and hit Clementine or even himself. He was moving slowly in an effort to try take care of the situation as safely as he could. He just forgot to close the door quietly behind him which was a mistake just as reasonable as Clem not carrying her gun into the stall while looking for the bottle
That's a pretty good point but I look at it like this, at the end of season 1, we all wanted Clem to get to Omid and Christa (well most). We (or I) thought it would be a sure with the three. So when Omid was killed, it was a message that there aren't many "happy endings" we would like to happen but rather a punch in the gut that things will get worse. Those are my thoughts on Omid getting killed so early in the episode.
I think the problem is it feels a bit lazy. If they're just going to kill off every season's cast (aside from Clem), then it feels like so muc… moreh of the development was utterly pointless. There doesn't feel feel like there's any continuity between them aside from Clem.
"WELP, That's Season 1's survivors. Enjoy them? Well, you're not seeing them anymore! Now on with the next batch!"
I figured Bromid/Christa were screwed the minute we saw trailers of Clem alone in the woods, but also clips of those two. I'm not saying don't kill them off later, but they really should have stuck with them, or meet up with them later.
I think that's why I think they killed Omid he was generally kinder, humorous and more liked then Christa. For some reason I cant see a bitter and cold version of Omid, he brings some much light that its hard to see him in the dark.
The character development isn't pointless. If they hadn't developed Omid nobody would care that he's dead. Killing off underdeveloped characters that nobody cares about would be pointless. Developing a character and then killing them is what gives the death meaning, makes us feel, and in the end makes for a better story. Dark tales such as TWD aren't for the faint of heart or for those that must have the hero win.
I agree. It's not like I ever cared for Omid or Christa that much (assuming the later is also dead) but it feels pointless to just kill everyone. What's with that? It felt like they wanted to start from scratch and just clean up the two loose ends from season 1 right off the bat. I understand it's a zombie apocalypse but if you're going to just kill everyone there's not much point in playing. Especially if it's as rushed and forced as that was; like I said it felt like they decided to start with a clean slate and take out what was left from season 1.
While I don't agree with the idea that this is bad writing, I do agree with the "clean slate" notion. It is common form for video games that have sequels (but is found in other forms of media as well). Simply put, when you have a sequel, you don't want to have new players feel like they are missing something. If characters have too much of a connected backstory from the previous game, then new players may feel detached and will not develop the interest or attachment to characters needed for an emotional story. In other words, the new player will discover along with the protagonist they are controlling, and in a sense, feel connected as if the avatar is merely an extension of the player's will.
Having Omid die, especially way he did, was cruel. It was unexpected and completely pointless. But that, of course, is the whole point. The Walking Dead, be it comic, TV show, or game, is a harsh, uncaring world that is always at the edge of disaster and despair, no matter how bright and care-free things feel at the moment. Omid's death introduces new players to this reality, and reminds returning players to this unrelenting fact by slapping them in the face.

I'm guessing Telltale just wanted to open the second season on a nasty note. If that's what they wanted to do, it's their right, but...yeah, seeing a familiar character get slaughtered for the sake of shock value is always highly suspect. At this rate, I'm almost positive Kenny will show up as a drooling paedophile hermit with a basement packed with naked, starving children in a later episode.

Its the walking dead. It'll get worse. Just the way Robert Kirkman intends it to.
So what's going to happen in the next episode? Frogs… more? Boils? Locusts?
This is exactly why Kirkman is an awful writer. Even Shakespeare knew he had to add some levity and comic relief in his tragedies.
Comments
I agree, just hope christa not dead too.
that shot to the chest was unecessary, and fuk that skinny bitch scavenger
The whole thread's spoiler tagged, I don't think I need another one.
clementine learned a hard lesson, by not doing what Omid told her to do (keeping her things on her) and my jaw totally hit the floor
Omid unconfirmed, get unhype for Omid. I didn't think it was so much lazy as it was a episode starting gut punch but I understand how everyone here feels, I loved Omid.
Probably a miscarriage.
yeah, i was laughing when caught myself at the thought "haha, there can be only one..Omid! >:D"
Actually yeah, there is no way to prevent him from dieing? That was the very first thing I thought after seeing that scene. As they simply slapped us with Omid's death,I thought it was a consequence of not giving her the hat or something similar.
The problem isn't that he dies, its how and how soon he died.
Ikr? Thank goodness Crista shot her w/out hesitation...bcoz no one f***s with Omid and lives...

I will quote myself from a previous post: "The problem isn't that the character dies, its how and how soon he died."
It was never explained, and to make it worse, even though they already had one,Telltale went on and introduced a brand new pregnant character.
Did i miss something because the fate of Christas unborn baby was never elaborated on, i was made to asume that it didn't survive. Was that the point?
I think the beginning was just a way to combine the two seasons and get rid rid of omid and christa.
What if they made an update to 400 Days.. that made one of the 'watchdogs' Omid?
The feels on the bus go round and round... round and round.. round and round...

christa did not die
Hey TJ your post is pointless
hhmmm just figured you should have since we have other users here still using spoiler tags as well. but your right maybe not.
why not

The fact that the needle was so big compared to what a doctor would use. Yes it would hurt like hell :O

So it's bad that they delivered something unexpected?...
What point is there to kill any character? Would you rather not have the same feelings from Season 1 and have all the characters live?
Its the walking dead. It'll get worse. Just the way Robert Kirkman intends it to.
This is the walking dead examples like lee and now omid proves that just about anyone can die now am more worried about clem now more then ever :''(

hope we get a real ending for christa

Do you read the comic book?
Same shit.
R.I.P in peace, that one black guy that gets executed by the governor (I believe that to be spoiler free enough).
There is enough of that in the comic book in my opinion.
The only death that was kind of unnecesary in the comic book was Glenn's.
why, Rob, just why?
'cause it's how TWD works. He can't abstain from fornula.
