Question: NOT SPOILER FREE
If you *don't * share your food with the dog, does he still bite you? I don't have the game yet, and in most of the streams/lets plays out thus far everyone has fed the dog, or tried to. I saw the attack coming a mile away with what I know about abandoned animals in the wild and wouldn't have fed it. It seemed to me like a ploy, giving the offer. Most people would probably not be able to resist so I was wondering if going the 'cold' route would yield better results.

No it growls at clem keeping for herself and then goes for her. It dosnt seem to make much sense compared to her giving it some though. Honestly most people see a dog and go "OMG companion its a new disney film have some food cute doggy " . have to admit I did that you forget its still an animal thats hungry
I totally understand why people choose to feed the doggy. I really felt bad, but I just couldn't bring myself to feed him with Clem downright starving too. At first I really thought I made a horrible decision, getting Clem bit. Since it happens either way, I think I will usually let Clem eat, at least by not sharing Clem gets to have a good amount. It doesn't make any difference but I like to think not starving made those next few hours a little easier on her.
It's one of those choices that's hard to ignore. When you're in a video game you don't expect the seedier things about reality to be included. I'm sure everyone was holding on to hope. One way or another it forces character growth on Clem and the player.
