Telltale, Make Decision Matter!
I laughed when the season started with "The story line depends on your choices from Season 1 and 400 days." I really did. In Season 1, the choices did NOT matter. Whatever you choose it ended the same exact way. This season I have MUCH higher expectations. Not only cause Season 1 won game of the year nomination but because The Walking Dead series in general is one of the most watched shows in TV history.
Wouldn't it be so much more rewarding if every story was a little unique and the ending was different in some sense? It would not only give the game A LOT of replay value but also make the forums more interesting and just make a better game. I know this involved a lot of effort on the telltale team but doing this would really create a unique and different game.
They have the perfect opportunity already with the choice of Pete or Nick. For the players who chose Pete, keep him alive telltale! Have him in the story and make a difference instead of just killing him so every players on the same page.
Look I love this game, and I couldn't look away from the TV the entire hour it took me to play Episode 1 but its laughable to claim that choices actually matter when they don't… or at least have not yet.
Comments
Well TTG said that they have branching story paths in S2 so i hope that means that our choices will actually change things.
really ? Nice. If you chose Nick, Pete dies right? If you chose Pete (like I did) you see him clearly getting ready to cut off his leg in the trailer to epi. 2. Hopefully he lives.
i reckon it'll be the same as season 1 yes more 'differences' but the end will be the same.
also if you save Pete, nick escapes.
Well on first glance no (and dont get me wrong I would love bigger effects of choices) but Clem had tons of little comments that change based on season 1,
Like what she said lee taught her etc.
