That's not Racism, Racism is calling another race a name, or saying your race is better than theirs. Just because Lee is black and he dies doe… moresn't mean that's Racism....that would mean any character that died could be Racism, because you can be racist to any race, not just black people.
Because Kenny wasn't that pivotal in Clementine's story. His arc consisted on his emotional trauma over the death of his family and the obsess… moreion of finding that boat so that it wasn't all in vain.
When I say Lee played a role I'm talking a paternal role and that of a strong, emotional conclusion. A character dying is not racist.
Because a death just for the sake of having Clementine witness a death wasn't the point! You played last season, we had those all over the place. Also, Clementine might have liked Kenny, but his death wouldn't have had the same meaning and impact on her like Lee's did.

Unlike most movies or games were it would be cheap or fall under "the black guy always dies first or in general" routine, here it is not the c… morease. The events leading up to Lee getting bit and dying were all unforeseen and proof that even he wasn't invincible. He died in a sad, (tearful too) honest and non stereotypical way. He was well written and well received, and I know plenty of people wanting him as character of the year in some circles, and some even said he is/was one of the best characters ever created.
Know what would of been racist? Had they made him a stereotypical convict that spoke ignorantly and acting how some (or maybe even more) of Hollywood portrays black characters in films or television shows. He was a normal, educated, caring, strong man who made mistakes and owned up to them. He didn't abandoned Clem like some deadbeat, and he didn't have any mannerisms that made his character seem cliched. He was the exact opposite of a… [view original content]

Don't use racism as a reason/excuse, because that is so far from the truth it's almost laughable. (not being insulting to you so don't take it as such) Look at what they could of done with Lee as a character and thank Telltale for making a strong non white character. One who is still great even after his sad/tragic death. A lot of developers and films could learn something from this.

Nah I seriously doubt it. Telltale knows everyone is quite attached to Clem, and killing her off would only cause major backlash. There are many ways to create drama without Clem's death. And it would be too similar to Season 1, like they're just following a formula. I expect serious shit to happen, but Clem will survive.
On a more serious note, I could see this game going for another 1-2 seasons after this--whether we're still playing her or not--with Clementine ending up bitten and dying somehow when she's in her 40's or 50's. And she would be considered one of the survivors. You just can't die of old age in that world anymore. Personally I'm at peace with it, as long as some characters(ones we like) survive at least one of any given season, and the others are given good deaths.
Robert Kirkman has said that Rick will eventually die at the end of the comic series.

Well he was the protagonist in the Walking Dead. That guarantees we would eventually have seen his death. He was also the only black man in the entire game.
And I'm gonna have to disagree with what "a lot" of people here feel about Kenny's death and its impact on Clementine. That's just false.
Everyone dies. It's God's plan.

I hope they don't kill Clementine off. I followed her thru the whole first season and want a walking dead character to have some sort of happy ending instead of always glorifying the violent nature of the series. She by far is my favorite character and I want to see what kind of woman she grows up to be like.
shes a great character but clem is overrated too. people feels she the best because she a small girl not because the writing or acting but yes thats good, but its the protagonist kid
Don't pin all her appeal on her age. It's a factor to many of us, yeah, but it's insulting to what her character has become over the course of the series.

Black men die because their the strongest and make better decisions in horror movies and games.. Whites always be stupid and go towards the killer or creature. Then slip on invisible rocks then crawl away slowly asking ,''WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS!!!???? Blacks only win in their horror movies Lol. I'm Mixed by the way lol
To witness Clementines permanent death (not non canon deaths) would be awful as she is such a great character, And i think lots of people would be angry at Telltale and it could cause backlash for them, When they do end her story i think it should be ambiguous.
I think we'll quickly find via game over screens that she is in fact not 100% safe. I mean, you say that, but only because a majority of fans don't want her to die, and kids have died in games before. As far as season 2 goes, I don't think we'll see her die, but she should be allowed to grow up. If they do work on a season 3 and she's 20-30-something, I guarantee we'll see her die.
But it makes you think, why is that usually the case? Is it maybe because we see ourselves as the villain, even if the protagonist did nothing recent to provoke the monster in the movie?
Listen to Dan. He smart.

Although I'd REALLY love this idea, it'd be hard to pull off...how do you create a happy ending in the TWD universe for Clem? Clem finding a secure community (like Tavia's)? We've seen communities crumble before the dead but who knows?. Find a cure? I don't think Kirkman would appreciate that. Happy death? No, it ain't gonna be happy. Although I still believe Telltale can pull this off, considering the talent they have and the growing fanbase supporting them. Let's just see what's under their sleeves until this season reaches its conclusion.

Don't think Clementine will be killed off, I mean it's possible, but not to likely... At least not in this season... TTG seems to be very keen on not being predictable. My theory...she's going to start to loose her mind as it closes in on episode 5 maybe end the season with her going batshit? Who knows...I see the choices in dialog changing and getting more and more psychotic as episodes progress. Think about it, fall in love with the little girl, protect her as lee, watch lee die, then play as her with an already intense emotional attachment to her, and then experience her go insane..maybe you even have to be in control of how nuts she goes...who knows maybe I'm nuts...
I always saw Clem as biracial being a good thing. You usually have one or the other in most media forms (black white Asian etc) but never really and mixed races. So here it shows that all types of people are being represented. Sure she could of been all African American ( as opposed to half) but Telltale saw her as the character you have before you. Shouldn't you be happy that Lee turned out as he did and not a stereotype? Shouldn't you be glad that in a world were mixing races is frowned upon by some, that Telltale is pretty much giving them the middle finger and showing that they exist?
Let me turn the question back to you: why are you looking for problems that aren't there? I'm a black man myself and I was very pleased how he was represented. He was a teacher ( a good one from the looks of it) he was intelligent, caring, loyal, looked after a child he had no attachments to at first, and put himself in harms way to make sure she was safe and prepared for the badness in the world. Clem was represented amazingly too. She had a good head on her shoulders and was smart as well. She had a great sense of morality and wanted to be a good person and do what's right.
Had Lee, been a stereotype he would of had to "learn to be a good man" instead of already being one ( when it came to Clem heck I'd say in general) he would of been the comic relief or the other typical stereotype role. He wasn't though was he?
Don't be that guy looking for racism that isn't there, you're better than that/ SHOULD BE better than that.
We somewhat discover Clem is immune and therefore cannot turn into a walker (not sure if immune fits the meta-universe, still...).
She ends up killed by another survivor out of greed for her loot or something similar.
Half the fanbase crawls into a corner to cry while the other half spend the rest of the day watching kitten videos desperately trying to get through, in vain.
Killing clem would serve no purpose in my opinion, in my opinion Lee died as he rushed to save clem and that was nice however
A. Killing the protaganist would be preditcable
B. Having a non changeable canon death would be lame (what I really I want is changeable endings, even if clem dies in most of them. If she can survive in some thats fine.
However problem is if she survives people always wanna know what happens next, This is why most games end with.. and then they died otherwise people wanna a sequel.
I hope not. And not just because I'm kinda bonded with the character. It was shocking with Lee, but it was also understandable. His role was to act as a guardian to Clementine, prepare her for the dangers of the apocalyptic world and then let her move on. I always felt that their parting was inevitable. In the last episode of the first season, the moment he was bitten, I had no doubts of Lee's fate. So in the end, I was heartbroken, but not shocked. If they do the same for Clementine though, it would be a different story for me. I know that in The Walking Dead Universe everyone is expendable, but it wouldn't have the same effect for the second time, and knowing that I'll lose every protagonist in each new season would just kill my interest in the game. I know it's the journey that matters and not the ending, but it's just how I feel. I'd like to seeher become the survivor she's supposed to be.
Comments
you cant be racist to all races
everyone keep saying kenny means just as much to her as lee, so why not have kenny die so clem would become badass?
Lee is one of the best protagonist I have seen in a game. His death was memorable. For me, this disregards any racist claims towards his death.
nah just stop killing them off first all then time
Technically, you can.
Because a death just for the sake of having Clementine witness a death wasn't the point! You played last season, we had those all over the place. Also, Clementine might have liked Kenny, but his death wouldn't have had the same meaning and impact on her like Lee's did.
yea i know but alot of people here feel kenny death would help her just as much as lee. thats why i said shy cant kenny die then
Carl still can't find his way back to get in the house.
This! Peace out, I'm done with racism for today.

Yeah, there's racist terms for everyone
Lol, that works, as also I realized that's how Lee and Clem is.. Lee dies and Clem goes off on her own... and Carl still cant find the House...still.

He said he would still continue it if Rick died, which he most likely follow Carl.
You're so smart, answer this. Why didn't telltale have lee take care of a black girl?
I hope clem dies abruptly not like lee. being shot in the brain or devoured to save someone would be ideal.

Oh ok. My bad. He did say that Rick would die "eventually", which I took to mean a long time/several volumes.
Why didn't I post that...
Her dad is black.
There's a difference between feeling like you have to protect a kid because it's a kid, and wanting to protect a kid because it's an awesome kid.
There's Amy from the game "Amy". And then there's Clementine. >drops mic<
