To be honest it can't be happy considering what Clem has already lost. But making her a survivor and leaving her with some kind of friends that she can call family (like Lee) in the end of the series it would be a happy ending for me.
I followed her thru the whole first season and want a walking dead character to have some sort of happy ending instead of always glorifying th… moree violent nature of the series.
Although I'd REALLY love this idea, it'd be hard to pull off...how do you create a happy ending in the TWD universe for Clem? Clem finding a secure community (like Tavia's)? We've seen communities crumble before the dead but who knows?. Find a cure? I don't think Kirkman would appreciate that. Happy death? No, it ain't gonna be happy. Although I still believe Telltale can pull this off, considering the talent they have and the growing fanbase supporting them. Let's just see what's under their sleeves until this season reaches its conclusion.
I really hope they don't kill Clem off. I understand the whole Kirkman no-one is safe, life is tough and cruel , survival of the fittest etc... but I think it is also important not lose the importance of Hope within that framework of a tough world. Yes life is often cruel and will sock you in the mouth over and over again but the reason people keep living is because of hope and the occassional realisation of those hopes.
I have no doubt tell tale could right a meaningfull death for clementine but I HOPE that they don't choose that option I would love to see a powerfull an moving happy ending or at least partially happy ending for clementine. I think it would be easy to write a powerfull and moving death since they made such a loveable character but something happy would be something unusual for the genre and a real test of the abilities of their outstanding writers.
I know it can't be happy after those years of hardships and pain, but it would be such a waste since Lee taught Clem to hope and cling to that since its the only thing no one can take from her (in my playthrough at least) that everything will be back the way it was, just not sure when. That sort of build-up would have been for nothing. It has to be a happy ending or at least thats what most of us want. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of when Clem finally belongs in a group she can call her family (at least kind of family that isn't gonna die all of a sudden), it may be enough of a ending but it feels...lacking somehow
But on the other hand Telltale could probably push that idea a little further away so they can continue for the next season

How is Lee dying racism? Is it because he's black? He was the most badass group member in all of Season 1 (even BEFORE his death), so how exactly is that racist? White, black, or anything else, it doesn't matter in the apocalypse. Everyone dies eventually, and if Telltale had had Lee survive solely because "Well, we didn't want to seem racist by killing him off", that would be a poor justification in The Walking Dead, where anyone can die at any time.
because i hate racism. when i see it i call it out. i love the game and pre order the full season 2. why did lee have to play that role, why couldn't kenny play that role
I believe in telltale, they wont kill Clementine. A lot of people want her in a 3rd season (me 2). I cant see Clem dying, I would cry so much, that I would fell into depression. Pls telltale dont kill her. ((
Think it would be kinda weird to kill off the main character at the end of this season and have us play as someone new at the beginning of next season, again. I think she'll be around for season 3 and maaaaybe even 4. But who knows with these guys writing the story and we all know anyone can die at anytime.
Thing is in season 1 you had Lee and Clem and you liked both characters and when Lee died you were sad but you still had Clem. If Clem dies I'm not sure a character can replace her. Playing an adult won't be be as good, season 1 had you playing as an adult but you also had Clem to protect. You feel bad for Clem and want her to survive, you won't feel the same feelings/emotions as playing a adult.
they made clem lighted because they thought others would not care about her if she had dark skin. why do people act like they dont see it? look at the racism Rue from the hunger games got, funny thing is she looks alot like clem but have darker skin look her up
I always saw Clem as biracial being a good thing. You usually have one or the other in most media forms (black white Asian etc) but never real… morely and mixed races. So here it shows that all types of people are being represented. Sure she could of been all African American ( as opposed to half) but Telltale saw her as the character you have before you. Shouldn't you be happy that Lee turned out as he did and not a stereotype? Shouldn't you be glad that in a world were mixing races is frowned upon by some, that Telltale is pretty much giving them the middle finger and showing that they exist?
Let me turn the question back to you: why are you looking for problems that aren't there? I'm a black man myself and I was very pleased how he was represented. He was a teacher ( a good one from the looks of it) he was intelligent, caring, loyal, looked after a child he had no attachments to at first, and put himself in harms way to make sure she was safe an… [view original content]
Wouldn't it be racist if black people got special treatment? I think it would be. They are treated as normal human beings in the game, just as they should be. After all, over 90% of the people die in the first season, but there is nothing racist in that and yet 1 black guy dies and it's all of a sudden racist? That doesn't make sense.

I would like to see Clem in another season so I hope they don't kill her off. However if Telltale wants to kill her off (WHY? ) I think it should be a really hard moral choice that you have to make, maybe something like, does Clem choose to save lots of people but sacrifice her own life to do it because she would get surrounded by walkers or does she run and save herself? That way if would give the players a hard choice, do they let Clem die but make her final acts heroic or do they keep her alive because they can't let go? I don't know just an idea.
Everyone dies at some point or another, it's life.
If we put this into "realistic" survival terms Clementine is still a weak and vulnerable target for both zombies and humans, if she wasn't the main character she would've probably died after she got separated from Lee and his group, it's all about survival of the fittest.
I agree, I think it can be possible with writing a new story after Clem, but IMO it can be very difficult to construct another character that attracts players with the same emotional appeal as Clem.

There's a difference between feeling like you have to protect a kid because it's a kid, and wanting to protect a kid because it's an awesome kid.
There's Amy from the game "Amy". And then there's Clementine. >drops mic<
Everyone does die and I am not saying she should be immortal. But it's one thing to die from natural causes and another to get killed in the process, the first you complete your life the best you could and in the other you are cut before you can reach the maximum of your life. I am not saying she should be an old lady when she dies, what I was implying is that we don't need to see her die per se. Just make her reach the fullest capability of her character and then switch to a new one and if they have some other plans for her we will return back, you know? If they don't have any other plans it will be fictioned in our brains how she lives the rest of her life in this world and how she dies.
It's one thing to kill a main character for the sake of the plot (like Game of Thrones) and a whole other to kill it just to make a point that your game is sad and it should have a tearful ending experience. It seems to me (correct me if I am wrong) that most gaming studios aim for the tragic end for the protagonist (if they don't plan sequels) so that they can have a bigger "Wow" factor from people. It just saddens me that you have to aim always at that.

It would be interesting to see Clem develop into a few more seasons, but depending on the outcome of this season and future ones; she will either feel weaker or stronger mentally and that can really affect her character.
More detailed info below
so whose the racist now wanting the white man to die for no apparent reason but because the African American character dies for the goodness of a little girl i cant see unselfishness as a racist act ever. and Kenny definitely did not mean as much to Clem as lee and if you think that im sorry.
interesting insight, never thought of that. You could say that Clem doesn't really have a specific role right now apart from being the main protagonist. She still doesn't seem like she can survive on her own, and I think if she survives this Season in good shape she will start to become a more independent survivor in the next one, especially since we now know TellTale are willing to use huge time jumps to move the plot along. Great character, just hope TellTale do a magnificent job with her regardless of whatever they end up doing...
I hope not. And not just because I'm kinda bonded with the character. It was shocking with Lee, but it was also understandable. His role was t… moreo act as a guardian to Clementine, prepare her for the dangers of the apocalyptic world and then let her move on. I always felt that their parting was inevitable. In the last episode of the first season, the moment he was bitten, I had no doubts of Lee's fate. So in the end, I was heartbroken, but not shocked. If they do the same for Clementine though, it would be a different story for me. I know that in The Walking Dead Universe everyone is expendable, but it wouldn't have the same effect for the second time, and knowing that I'll lose every protagonist in each new season would just kill my interest in the game. I know it's the journey that matters and not the ending, but it's just how I feel. I'd like to seeher become the survivor she's supposed to be.
Black men die because their the strongest and make better decisions in horror movies and games.. Whites always be stupid and go towards the ki… moreller or creature. Then slip on invisible rocks then crawl away slowly asking ,''WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS!!!???? Blacks only win in their horror movies Lol. I'm Mixed by the way lol
can see how they might try to finish the game without finishing the story: Let Clem go through a load of crap and come out of it on top, then find herself a group and perhaps a new settlement which is actually safe and up and running, then leave players to think of their own endings for her. Think that's the best "good" ending for this type of genre
Basically I was stating it is not impossible for her to develop into a Kenny type character (whereas he became unstable and likely losing hope.) However, there is also the possibility that she will have a greater understanding on why things happen as well as a significant amount hope by the end of the season on what she has to do in order to survive. If that is the case she would likely continue on for an additional season.

Hm, there's a thought. Maybe how we see her in season 4 will be affected by the choices we've made in all three seasons prior--dead, or dead and walking...?

That is too typical, don't you think?

Death in Season 2? Not going to happen.

Clementine is African-American. So, no your opinion is false.

What if Lee was white? Would killing off a white Lee be considered racism too?
lol
Um dude, many characters died, not only Lee. If only Lee died and the other characters lived then yeah it would of been racism but it wasn't.
This is one of the dumbest fuckin' comments I've ever read. Hell, it might even be slightly racist.
Everyone dies at some point or another, it's life.

Blasted Amy! I had forgotten about her.
Y'know, you might be racist for thinking about this.

no but more people would cry.
im not trying to upset anyone, just wanted to say what i saw.

she was a multiracial girl as it kinda looked but she may have very well been fully African American so your point is shit.
maybe she will and i guess that racist too huh.
lol this is funny stereotype of the white people.

i dont think kenny mean more to her then lee but alot on here feel that way. thats why i asked why couldn't kenny die for her and lee live
I wasn't talking about just S02. In general.
i dont think they will kill her off for hopes of a season three but something will happen something only telltale could make happen the evil basterds
I am pretty sure she won´t die in this season
