Alvin - New Lee for Clementine?

edited December 2013 in The Walking Dead

Somewhere throughout the episodes, I kinda want Alvin to help Clementine throughout the journey because his personality & friendly attitude reminds me of Lee Everett.

This game is the first game out of thousands that I've played throughout my life that I feel super emotionally attached to the characters and it feels as if Clem sees Alvin as her Lee back in Season 1. Anybody else think so?

  • Yeah I guess you could say that, but anything can happen at anytime so I'm assuming the worst.

  • Well the window scene shows alvin is actually a good person to clementine but his bitch wife doesnt help.. I think Luke is the closest to Clementine though.. He makes an effort to reach out.. give her food.. have a conversation etc.

  • Luke is pretty awesome, but I like Alvin more. If he wasn't held back from his b**tchy wife, he would've done all he can to help Clem.

  • no,he's quite a pussy,and lee's not.although he may seems nice & compassionate,I don't really rely on him

He might try and reach out in the coming episodes...as long as her bitch wife ain't there. And yeah, Lee isn't a coward who kneels before anyone when he's threatened so no, Alvin will never be compared or be as great as Lee was

I somewhat agree with you on Alvin being a bit too afraid. Probably just scared of his own wife, that's all. I mean, who isn't? xD
But like you said, "Anything can happen at anytime."

He'll probably be morphed into a badass like Lee if given the opportunity.

    Edit
From what I remember, Alvin was afraid Clem was gonna tell on him was because maybe he doesn't want her getting hurt. Who knows what that b*tch of a wife would do to Clem if she knows what she was up to or something.

  • Maybe so, this IS Telltale right? They can literally do ANYTHING with the characters at hand. So it could happen and when it does come to that point...damn...

  • Eh, I'd say due to his beta behaviour in regards to his wife he's most likely going to fill the role of comedy relief for next episode or so.

  • I dunno. Alvin seems to be pretty preocupied with his pregnant wife. I also did not have the impression, that he would be a good replacement for Lee, but we will see how his character and relationship with Clementine develops.

Pete would have been a better choice, but he got bit.

  • When he finds out the kid isn't his.. you watch.. he will have all this pent up anger because his wive has the nerve to treat him like shit when the kid isn't even his. We will probably have to convince him or we will just have to deliver the baby ourselves.

I doubt anyone could replace Lee in Clementine's eyes as he was the next best thing as a parent to her, Alvin could possibly sacrifice himself to save Clam and his wife and baby but its hard to tell at the moment.

  • I didn't exactly say Alvin can replace Lee because Lee is irreplaceable lol. He's more of a father figure like Lee if the wife allows him to take care of Clem.

Maybe she will see him as more of a uncle of something :P

  • Yeah, Alvin doesn't seem like the type to last long enough to survive all 5 episodes

  • If anybody could be Clem's new guardian, it would be Luke. I can tell Alvin wants to help, but it seems like he's scared of his wife. Maybe if his wife wasn't a bitch and didn't boss him around, perhaps I would agree with you.

  • Luke is too nice. I think something is going on with him...

  • Nah he just kinda felt pity for Clem considering almost everyone was an a**hole to her
But...Luke's nice guy behavior was similar to Kenny in Episode 1 Season 1: he was a friendly guy when you first meet him, offers you a ride to Macon even if you let duck die in the tractor, saves you at the drug store, and even acts like your bro at the motel. The only horrible thing he did was letting Shawn die.
So it could be the same for Luke until the next episode arrives and people will start hating him for some reason

  • Yeah it could be Luke based on how he apparently cares for Clem

  • No way, that guy is not nearly the man Lee is. He's so browbeaten and weak. Id rather Clem stuck with Luke and Pete if she's going to have anyone.

  • My nickname for Alvin is "Fat Lee" and is it just me, or does it sound like he has Lee's voice actor as well?

  • i hope nick or luke would be clem's new guardian . since pete is bit by zombie at the end of ep 1 , so i think he may die inn the second ep .

  • I think you only chose Alvin because he's black. You Americans are so predictable in you mannerisms.

He is nothing like Lee, but in one tiny detail. And yeah, you chose him because of that.

Yeah, Miss (or Mister for all I know) I am calling you slightly racist!

  • My nickname for Alvin is "chipmunk".

  • Alvin is a awesome character! He gave my Clementine apple juice and Clementine loves apples. :)

  • it will never be a new lee wtf is wrong with you people she loved lee to much

  • Dropping girls is cool.

I liked Luke, he really cares for Clem Clem. He was cool.

  • Kenny didn't have time to save Shawn. It's like the Doug/Carley thing. And besides, in Ep3 he deeply regrets not saving Shawn, saying it's all his fault.

  • I don't trust Luke. The way he flipped out when he saw Clem's bite raised a red flag to me. His attitude towards Clem changed so fast, it was like watching Kenny on crack. Anyone who's that high-strung in the midst of a zombie apocalypse should be regarded with extreme caution.

  • Who knows how Alvin will develop in future episodes. But for now, he seems too much of a whipped man to be of any real help.

  • It's different because Kenny was acting affable because they were only three days into the apocalypse and after 3 months the outbreak had changed him. While in Season 2, they're already almost 3 years into the apocalypse and Luke still a good guy. If almost 3 years into the apocalypse and losing loved ones didn't change Luke then I don't know what can.

Eh, Clem having a new guardian? Naah, no way. Lee was the man. And anyway, she may be an 11 year old girl, but she can handle herself. We saw that. IMO she needs a group, but not a guardian.

  • Omg, Alvin is just like lee! They both have cheating wives!

  • Parallels I noticed:

    Luke - Lee
    Nick- Ben
    Doctor- Larry
    Sarah - Duck
    Alvins Chick - Kenny

  • Those people are not similar at all.

  • Wouldn't you flip out if you noticed someone had a bite? He was surprised, I guess.

I'm not sure about anyone in the group so far, especially considering Pete warmed up to Clementine far too quickly. Luke took a bit longer, which is why I trust him slightly more.

I don't think the cabin group has had many actual incidents with walkers apart from the outbreak. It seems like they've been holed up the whole time, especially if you take Sarah into account. This might be why Luke is such a nice guy; he's happy to see a new, possibly friendly, face, and secondly he may not have changed much from the first days of the outbreak.

Alvin? He (Well, in my game though) didn't even said a word to Clementine..(or am i wrong)? It more looks like Luke is gonna be the one that's going to look after her...
