Im surprised how a lot of people picked Nick insted of Pete because.....

edited December 2013 in The Walking Dead

I mean that they BOTH said to go to Pete. Nick said: "Go to him,ill cover you" and Pete said: "get your asses here both of you" so OBVIOUSLY you go to Pete. I know he WILL PROBABLY die but either way Nick will be mad at you. If you go to Pete everyone stays alive. Its a win win. Please discuss your details here!

  • I picked Pete.

It was a dilemma at first. On the one hand, Pete's been bit and he'll either die or be a cripple. Now, he could get a prosthetic, but a cripple away from a doc with prosthetic making skills might as well die. So I thought ''Nick!'' due to how many zombies there were. Then, I figured: ''both his legs are fine, he's got plenty of ammo, he can run'' so I went to the guy who obviously needed more help which was Pete.

  • I was also expecting the same outcome that despite no matter who you save, it's the other that gets to be zombie's meal but noo.

  • Although has anyone by curiousity done nothing in the time of choosing or let the time run out!

  • Yeah me too. I chose Pete because everybody agreed that because he lost his foot (bitten) even if he dies its the best choice. Because if you choose Nick, Nick hates you and says that how could you not help him. So i rather have a friend at my side!

  • I picked Pete because he was the most in need and the first nice character we met. He saved us from walkers and trusts us completely about the dog bite so I felt I owed him. He also mentions having a cousin who lived from amputating a walker bite. Now in my game, Lee kept his arm so Clem wouldn't know any different but also, whose to say the reason Lee doesn't live (if he amputates his arm) is because he doesn't do it soon enough? Ofcourse I suspect Pete will die and that like in season 1, were just delaying their death but I like Pete, so I'll take that chance.

  • Yeah i agree. He was the ONLY ONE to trust you with the bite. Tell me guys: Who do you trust?

  • Honestly i just saw zombies and didnt hear either of them. I thought that if I went for Pete Nick would die and Pete didnt want nick to die I'm certain, plus Pete was bitten

I went with Pete. I'm surprised how many people didn't actually pay attention to the situation. As you mentioned, Nick had the best chance of survival without help, so the best chance of saving both of them was going for Pete. The bite can figure into the decision of course, but I have seen people on here actually complain that Nick possibly survives if you save Pete as if everything should be that black and white all the time.

  • I initially saved Nick first, however I replayed the game and saved Pete because Nick has a chance to survive where Pete does not. Interested to see what happens with Pete next episode.

  • I thought it was a Carly/ Doug situation. But so it appears that if you chose Pete, Nick AND Pete survive. Either way i trust the guy that helps me no the guy that almost shot my foot off!

  • I picked pete because he is older, has more life experience and wisdom. And i didnt accept Nick's apology, so thats a reason to pick pete too

  • Did anyone try not to pick helping anyone?

  • Can you do that? Haven't tried myself but maybe Clementine will make her own mind up if you don't choose anything? Not sure.

Did anyone try not to pick helping anyone?

  • I saw a bitten man, and a non- bitten man. I picked the non-bitten man.

  • I picked Pete because I wasn't sure if he actually got bitten. I didn't take into account what either of them were saying, I remember that much. I guess part of me remembered how Pete gave me the benefit of the doubt when a dog bit me, maybe I should give him the benefit of the doubt now.

I immediately regretted saving him, but then I went and replayed it on another save slot, and found out Pete dies if you don't save him. So, I made the enter choice! Yay (I hope).

To anyone from telltale, my hat goes of to you for making a good decision there. That was not an easy call. If it was flat Pete or Nick, almost everyone would go with Pete.

  • I was surprised too. Choosing Pete is obviously the more moral choice. My Lee taught Clem to help the weak and look out for others, not to let them be devoured by walkers. Nick seems to get out safely but Pete will die if you don't help him. Pete went out of his way to save me when I was bitten (albeit by a dog, though they couldn't be sure of that) when he could have just left me to the walkers. I repaid the favor by saving him from becoming walker kibble and not leaving him to such a terrible fate as he had done for me.

  • Yeah you can if you let the time run out but i havent actually tried it yet

  • Now, I want to say that I picked Pete because he needed the help and because he gave me the benefit of the doubt when it looked I like I had been bitten and so it's only fair for me to return the favor...

But honestly, I just looked over at Nick and thought "Those are way too many zombies for me to handle..."

  • That's as good a reason as any when you're making a choice during the Zombie Apocalypse. I went with Pete because he was injured and gave me the benefit of the doubt earlier. I don't even think I SAW all the zombies Nick was fighting off until after I'd saved Pete. But hey, he managed to get away, didn't he?

  • I picked to run towards Nick because I didn't see any safety for Clem going to someone who was bitten, was out of ammo and less able to defend himself or her.

I know he seemed to be a nice and trust worthy guy and all that but I'm looking out for the safety of myself first and foremost.

  • I chose nick because I thought he was a bad shot, and because out of the two, he is the one caring about the other. I don't know,..if pete had practically been like a father to him, he would have been worried about Nick a bit?

  • Jandro, I had the same feeling... Like I said, no matter who I save, the other always dies like in Season 1.

  • I picked Nick because I panicked, I saw that Pete was bitten and ran straight to Nick, if I knew that Nick had ammo and Pete didn't the first time around I would have probably gone to Pete, but like I said I panicked.

  • I picked Nick, although it was less because Pete was bitten and more because I think Pete would wanted Nick to survive so I'm going to do my best to make sure that happens. Still, he was a cool old man. Rest in Peace, old timer.

  • Everything just happened so Fast. I had to make a decision

Agreed. Uncle Pete doesn't deserve to die, he earned my respect for not being a dick when he saw Clem's dog bite. He does mention that amputation worked for his cousin, so obviously it could work for him too. So yeah Uncle Pete all the way

Because I am a hypocritical asshole (leaving someone that got bitten to dead) and see no point endangering Clementine for someone that's going to die anyways. I was actually hoping Clementine would actually be given the option to run away after stealing a map of some sort.

  • I would have left both if I was given the option.

Pete would at least be able to continue vouching for me until he dies of the infection.

    <=== This ... Nuff said :D

  • I picked Nick because he might be a good Kenny 2.0. Nuff said.

  • I picked Pete without thinking a lot. Might have been a sudden intuition. On my second playthrough, when I realized that Nick would always live and Pete's survival depended on your choice, I knew I had made the right choice when first playing this.
