Appreciation/thoughts of/about the characters
So, random thought like that: what is your appreciation and thoughts of/about the (main) characters of this season? I know it isn't really a precise question, but I'm curious to so who people like and who people don't like.
Here's a little list to help you:
Clementine
Christa
Pete
Nick
Alvin
Rebecca
Carlos
Sarah
Luke
As for me, here are my... amazing appreciation levels (wow!):
Clementine: Do we seriously need to precise anything about her? She's amazing, and now more and more badass. I love this character since Season 1, and I think she's amazingly written.
Christa: I saw that some people didn't like her very much, but I really appreciate her. She's the last "guardian" of Clementine from Season 1, and the fact that we don't know if she's alive or not is horrible (in a good way).
Pete: He's interesting. He kinda reacts a little bit like Lee, so it's weird to talk to him as Clementine. Personally, I saved him at the end of Episode 1 by replaying the end, even if I had saved Nick at first. (but it's simply because I wanted both of them to live)
Nick: Can't feel mad ofter his character: he's aggressive, but in the same way as Kenny was. I like the family tension between him and Pete, it brings a new aspect in the game (yet not necessarily essential, it sure it interesting to witness as Clem).
Alvin: Wow, this character. At first, he looked kinda random. But then I went to knock on the window of his bedroom to seek help on a second playtrough, and damn: he amazingly gentle. It was my "bitch-Clementine" playtrough and I threatened him as much as possible, but yet he gave be bandages... and a juice box! Seriously? I like "weak" characters like that... they are not really weak, in fact.
Rebecca: I hate her. I know well help her have her baby on the third episode (looks like it) and I will make everything ok for her just to make her fell as bad as possible. (but I think having a character 100% against you is good for the story so... yup.)
Carlos: Hello Hershel #2. Everything is said.
Sarah: I like this young girl, she seems innocent... and so Clementine will be a perfect mentor for her. I seriously hope she won't die until the end, I really can imagine an ending with the two girls alone yet together against the world. Like best friends.
Luke: Goddamnit. I really really really like this character, so that means he's going to die. I don't want that. For once, Telltale, don't kill a "secondary character", give him the same destiny Molly had. SA#$?@QGAG43q542 Damn it. IT'S PREDICTABLE. DON'T BE PREDICTABLE TELLTALE (using reverse psychology here... I hope it will work. :'D)
Comments
To be honest, you have, mostly, the same views as me. So I'll save time by just listing the views that aren't the same as yours:
Christa: I like how she's been hardened by the loss of Omid, and even though she is a bit short-tempered towards Clem, we can see she still cares about her, as she constantly tells the scavengers hassling her that she's alone, and we know full-well she isn't.
Pete: Feels like a kind of father figure to the rest of the group, I chose to save him. I don't go back and change choices in these games, because in real life, you can't. I just live with my mistakes. It feels much more believable that way.
Alvin: I took rags, so I never spoke to Alvin, but he seems very friendly and a gentle person.
Carlos: A bit in denial that Sarah has to grow up at some point, but he means well. Looking forward to seeing him develop.
Sarah: Very wary of her. I said we can be friends, but I said I can't promise.
Luke: YOU HEARD HIM TELLTALE. DON'T. BE. PREDICTABLE. XD
Yeah, Luke is a good guy. But, that won't stop Telltale from pulling a Carley on us again.
That Carley thing. Damn it.
It felt like a heart-attack.
For Pete, I made an exception. I usually play like you, counting my choices as irrevocable ones, but this time I saw the result of the opposite decision and regretted my choice too much. Yet my initial choice was apparently in the (small) majority.
As for Sarah, I promised since I would try to save her anyway... so for me it isn't such a big deal. And Clementine really needs a friend, poor girl.
OOOOOOH, BUT I'M SUUUUUUUURE TELLTALE WILL KILL HIM. OH NO. DON'T KILL HIM. WE'LL BE SAD AND STUFF. x'D
I totally agree with your opinion.
I really hope Alvin won't die in the next episode, I wanna see him stand up to his wife, man up a little.
I really hope he won't die. But with his sympathetic attitude, he's in the front line. :I
Yeah, the nice guys always die...
The Walking Dead Game, killing bromances and romances since 2012.
Zombies. Lots of zombies.
And cool characters, and bad characters, and adults, and children, and babies, and enemies, and allies, and animals, and...
This game should be called The Dead Dead.
Great post sir/ma'am.
Hmmmmm.
Clem: Well Clem is Clem, nuff said.
Pete: I liked him almost instantly, I hope he doesn't die but who knows. He is a bit like the groups 'Dale' it seems. Plus listening to him talking about Nick really revealed a lot about him, really hoping to see more.
Nick: Started off hating him, just because of his attitude and his itchy trigger finger. I changed my mind when he came in and apologized and told why he was cautious around someone with a potential bite.
Alvin: Didn't interact with him on my main playthrough, which I'm not gonna change. I will however go back and play on a different save slot and see what I think, he seems nice though, if a bit pragmatic.
Rebecca: I fucking hate this bitch (which is the point I think) who knows right now where it will lead but after playing Ep 1 I hope it ends with her baby strangling her with the umbilical cord.
Carlos: Really dude? Was it your first day on the job when the dead started walking? Fucking moron.
Sarah: Don't really know what Carlos thinks is "wrong" with her. Perhaps just her innocence. Regardless it could be interesting for Clem to teach her how to survive, perhaps after Carlos gets bitten by a dog, then a walker (So he can finally tell the difference)
Luke: Seems a bit like a replacement for Lee, which is something I don't want. Too early to tell.
Oops, totally forgot
I generally don't feel much for the characters so far and I don't like the badass Clem either.
Nick seems to be some kind of crossbreed between Ben and Kenny, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him putting the group in danger sooner or later.
And I don't know why, but for some reason I have the feeling that the game will end with Luke dying because of - or for - Clementine (maybe by saving her, similar to Lee).
I could be totally wrong though.
Slave slot. :'D
Damn, nice catch. Thanks for that, I should start proof-reading my rants.
For Christa, I think she's still close to Clementine. I thought I first she blamed Clem, but thinking about it, I think she just feels that clem is a little bit of a burden: since Clem is here, Christa can't die, so she has to keep struggling for her life.
My thoughts? Clem is the ultimate badass of badasses. She could beat all the other characters even with one arm torn to shreds by the dog (Ok well maybe not that much) but she is still a badass! lol
Oh damn, if you tap on the window Alvin gives you bandages and a juice box?! I like him a little more now. #TeamAlvin
kill luke , they killed lee
stop making all the black characters mean and sassy
As for the others, I don't have very strong opinions on them in any way, so I didn't put them here.
it will never be a new lee, if so dumb, should not have killed lee if your just going to replace him
You mad?
Not you again.
Nope. Actually, it's quite funny, hehe.
Dude, can you please stop calling everybody racists? Seriously, if we hated Lee, nobody here would of played the Walking Dead Game in the first place.
Don't worry, I handle trolls like these every day.
Noooooo, don't feed the troll! He/she's going to eat you!
I agree with this 100%. I this game to pieces and I was pretty impressed with the diversity included in Season One. I liked how the characters had yin-yang personality traits. S2E1 is kind of a sausage fest with two mean black females thrown in the mix. You can either have the girl in the bathroom or snarky black Rebecca, but having both of them plus Christa as the only women just adds up to lazy stereotyping. I personally think Carlos should have been a Carla anyway.

O man, why did this post three times? Bah.
