S2 E1: Small, unnoticed things.

edited December 2013 in The Walking Dead

This thread is for all the small implements that you've found out about the episode through your play throughs. Here's something I found out:

If you ask Sarah what she's reading, Clem can be seen at the dinner table with the book right beside her. She must've been reading it too!

Is there anything interesting you all found out?

At the beginning, when Clem drops her water bottle under the cubicle.

If in season one, Lee tells Clem the smell is 'shit' and not 'manure' Clem will say "Oh, shit!" instead of "Oh, shoot!" when it falls under.

  • I haven't seen anyone post about this yet, but there's a bottle of Banang in the kitchen. I was wondering when Banang would appear this season. :P

    The Guurgles
I just replayed this and was laughing at that.

Also, the graffiti on the bathroom stalls in the very first scene always gets me:
    Tbone is da icest

    Were back

  • I noticed that at the lake when you were to inspect the bodies, you see Roman dead.

  • Clem also changes a lot of things in the talk with luke.

She looks kind of sad when there joking about stumps if Lee cut off his arm and also she says different things Lee taught her how to do.

  • I always wondered when I joked about the scar instead of a stump (as I didn't cut off Lee's arm) if Clem looks different compared to if Lee DID cut off his arm. That's pretty cool. :)

  • A interesting thing i found is that you go to the window to talk to Alvin and blackmail him, he will say "Motherfuc*er" and act rude to Clementine.

  • In which Clementine responds "Hey, language!" >:(

    Made me laugh.

I cut Lee's arm off and Clem still replied "definitely" when Luke said scars were better than stumps. Guess the save file didn't work or something.

  • You say something like "It would be bad if she knew I was talking to you"

What? how do you blackmail him?

  • Wow, that gives Alvin a bit more depth in his character than I've seen in my playthrough. Alvin and Rebecca's relationship must have been worse than I thought if Alvin reacted to Clementine's blackmail threat that badly.

You say something like "It would be bad if she knew I was talking to you"

  • I didn't even stumble across Alvin during my first playthrough, where he at and during which point am I able to talk to him?

  • Bannaaaaaang!

  • While your searching the house, you can come across a picture of a duck and Clementine will mutter "Duck..." and look down sadly.

  • when did that become a tradition for telltale anyways was it started in season 2 of sam and max or was it in season 1 as well?

    Bannaaaaaang!

  • When you have broken out of the shed he is visible through an open window talking to rebecca. You can listen to what they say and then knock to talk to him.

  • ..why would they have a picture of .. oh

a picture of A duck, not Duck the person.

  • He can also refuse to help you if you go the "sorry I bothered you" route.

  • It started in Season 2 Episode 4 of Sam & Max, then i think it started making cameo appearances in other games by Telltale, starting from Back to The Future The Game.

Nice find! Good to see that our S1 savegame at least has some influence on her behaviour/demeanor. I hope there will be much more like that in the next episode.

  • If you don't manage to hide when Rebecca is about to enter the toilet, Sarah interrupts her. This means that you won't have the "Whose baby is it" conversation with Rebecca.

  • What? I dont get it..

  • Clem still has the same water bottle that she dropped in the bathroom and concurrently caused Omid's death. It's the same water bottle that you choose to give to the bandit at the end of the episode.

  • Woah no way. I didn't even consider not hiding.

  • interesting i thought not hiding would lead to a game over. does something simaler happen if you stay there to long with the door on the first floor as well.

If you pinky swear with Sarah and become her friend, after you get all the stuff you can go back to her and have a small exchange where you ask for advice on where to stitch yourself up. If you don't pinky swear her, though, after she gives you the peroxide, she locks the door and tells you to "go away" if you interact with the door again.

  • You go into one of the bedrooms and take a piece of cloth.

I didn't cut Lee's arm off & Clem said that her friend/Lee cut his off when I told Luke that getting the scar was better than loosing my arm. So, it does seem like there are some save glitches.

  • When Clementine is in the toilet as Rebecca is about to enter you can hide in the cabinet or the shower. But if you chose not to hide at all, you won't get a "Game Over". Instead Sarah interrupts Rebecca and you never hear about the truth of the baby.

So this means that during the dinner conversation with Rebecca you don't have the option to say "Whose baby is it?".

  • Nah, you will notice that the people will glance or walk towards the door and Clementine will shut it.

    Not sure if this counts, but there were lots of little things that seemed like nods to the first season, like killing the walker tied to the tree reminded me of Clem killing the walker in the jewelry store with the baseball bat in episode 5, and killing the walker in the shed was like when Lee hammered the babysitter in episode 1. It broke my heart with how sensitive Clem was to stuff to do with Lee, like the talk at the table. Also if you tell Luke "I'm lost" when he and Pete first find Clem, he says "Well maybe we can find your friend if he's nearby." and Clem interrupts him quickly saying "I..." and then says quietly "I don't think she is..." Maybe I am just reading into it too much but I took that as her thinking about Lee and being sad he's not around. I know I was wishing Lee was with her in that scene when Clem was alone and hurt in the woods. :'{{{

Also the sewing up the arm scene reminded me of chopping off Lee's arm, especially if he went by himself.

edit for typo's & another scene I remembered

  • I remember that there was a Banang in the RV in episode 3, but was it located anywhere else in season 1 or 400 Days?
