I don't mean to add to this long list of responses, but... I am.
It's actually unrealistic for everyone to be moping around all the time. I… more mean, it's been two years at this point. Everyone who's still alive should be able to deal with this shit by now. Granted, it was weird in season one, now it makes sense to include humor. If people didn't have some way of coping, then they'd all commit suicide.
People really dont like nothing but grimness all the time. Thats a problem a lot of people had with the comics. It just would not let up on the tragedy.
If I don't feel absolutely terrible and depressed after playing this game, its not worth my money.
I'm thinking 275 percent more depressing is actually needed now.
That would be a pretty terrible idea. Endlessly layering on the dark and depressing without any moments of levity or lightness doesn't lead to… more a sadder experience. It leads to apathy. It leads to no one bothering to create a bond with any characters because they know those characters are just going to do nothing but suffer and die.
Its awful writing to take that approach and I suspect and hope Telltale doesn't have such awful writers.
I'm going to let it slide for the first episode, but the choice near the end of the episode of which character you want to save, felt like it … morewas put there because they almost wanted people to care. Thing is, I have no emotional attachment to either character as there was no development and so why should I care if either of them die? Humour would have helped the episode a long a little bit me thinks, and also given you a chance to remotely like the character.
Oh you will... There'll be bright bits though, to guide you to the darkest spot. Like your eyes. Over thirty minutes, they adjust to the dark, making the dark, not so dark. If someone shines a light in your eyes, though, the thirty minutes are reset. You want your eyes to be as unadjusted as possible when the ending comes.

So like have you meet a nice friendly dog only to have him try to violently eat you moments later?
Or meeting a young girl close to your age that wants to be best friends with you only to....
hmm I see what your saying. But no Omid. No slapstick, I need dark, gritty and emotionally crushing.

Omid wasn't slapstick. There was no slapstick the whole game. Slapstick would be Kenny slapping Lee across the face, Lee kicking Kenny in the nuts, and Omid coming in, breaking them up by poking both their eyes. All the while, they move and react exaggeratedly.

Yes, more light, heartwarming and funny moments would be a good thing. Don't get me wrong, I "like" it when they rip my heart out and give me depressions by playing. And it sure shouldn't be a comedy game or sth like that.
But a story can't be just dark. A few more light moments would do the setting a great service. The dark themes would just lose their power, otherwise.

That's it! I just remember the H.
Some goofy antics between Clementine and Alvin would be nice.
we need the story to end with the world imploding on itself thats the only way to stop the walkers man.
Since Omid is dead, i dont think there can be any fun moments.
Man i miss Omid
How do you deal with flesh-eating monsters surrounding you every minute? Its a wonder they're coping as well as they are.

Me too. I liked Omid from the start. The world is a little dimmer without him.
By laughing at your daily life. Laughing at your old one. At least someone would do that.

Would have really helped having a dialogue trip in the cabin before setting out to fish the next day. My only major negative outlook on the episode.

Agreed.
Although he kinda deserved what he got after letting Clem go into that building all by herself.
Lee would've been pissed.
