Possible Death for Rebecca?

On the slide for Episode 3 (In Harm's Way), you can see Clementine kneeling next to an incapacitated outline of what is obviously Rebecca, clearly needing help. It is uncertain if Rebecca dies here or not, and it is way too early to make that prediction, but it appears to me like she is dying in labor here, and to many others as well. I honestly hope this is not the case, as we have already seen something like this happen in the AMC TV series: Lori. Lori's death was one of the most hard-hitting and emotional scenes in the TV show for me, and her death-by-labor can simply not be replicated. We've already seen a few similarities between the TV show/comic and the game - such as, using the Walker guts to get out of Savannah. For the most part, though, Telltale has kept the game really original, and differs from the base storyline a lot. I really do hope this continues to be the case, and they do not kill Rebecca off in labor. That's just my two cents on the matter, and I'd like to put it out there.

I really don't see an indication of a near-death labor situation in the slide, it's however implied that it's a still of the moment she's gone into labor.
Perhaps not death by labor, but I don't see Rebecca as a character that will survive the entire season, I imagine she will play a role in the heavy emotional scarring plotpoint that's bound to happen during this season, possibly her dying one way or another while her child lives on, or maybe even vica versa (could possibly be worse).

  • As far as I know Carlos will die before Rebecca going into labor. I mean it will be too easy for a doctor to give birth to a child .So Carlos going to die predictable much .Then possible Clem will have to give birth to that child while in captivity (YOU CAN SEE THE BARS'S SHADOW IN THE SLIDE) meaning that other group will capture them and Rebecca will go into labor.I don't think she is going to die, possible just like Lori in the series .
Some hard shit is going to happen these 2 ep.

  • I completely forgot that Carlos was a doctor. I do acknowledge the bars there, so maybe their captivity is what's preventing Carlos from reaching Rebecca, thus leading to a Lori-like scenario?

  • Maybe they're caught by bandits who separate the men and women or something weird along those lines.

That sounds plausible, But i wonder if Sarah will also be involved if she is still alive at that point.

  • Carlos is a Doctor, but what type? Herschel was a vet.

  • Whatever kind of doctor he is, he's not a very good one if he can't tell the difference between a dog and walker bite. :P

  • You people forget that the game is inspired by TWD COMIC, which was made BEFORE TV show.

    Sorry for my bad English.

  • Well, it was more of a mauling than a bite. With how bad the wound was, it may have been hard to tell what bit her.

I can definitely see Telltale putting us into the position of having to help the birth of Rebecca's baby, especially since they've gone out of their way to make her the most unpleasant out of the entire new cast so far. Carlos could be killed or incapacitated, the rest of the group is MIA, and Clem is the only one who can guide Rebecca through delivery (the hidden subplot about the fate of Christa's baby from the missing 16 month period will also probably play a part in this scene - although I'm still miffed at Telltale for withholding that information from us just for the sake of goading the player along).

Clem could then have the choice of aiding Rebecca, or allowing her to suffer. That's all well and good, but personally I'm just depressed we still have at least two more episodes of Rebecca's hatefulness to endure.

  • Yes the comic was made before the show, but the comic goes parallel with the show. (i.e. Hershel and Glenn) It's a spin-off of sorts.

  • I was just thinking the same thing - I see what You're doing Telltale - wanna make me hate her (Whose baby is it, Rebecca? I think You should be nicer to me from now on :D), but why? Seing that thread, it hit me - ohhhh, You want me to make a very scaring and emotional choice, lik letting her die or letting her die but saving her baby or saving her and the baby but letting someone I like die (like the person we thought was dead but is back, just to let us decide about her/his fate) etc. And maybe a little flashback of how Clem was in a similiar situation with Christa during these 16 months that we know nothing about...or maybe they are just messing with our heads :)

I can definitely see Telltale putting us into the position of having to help the birth of Rebecca's baby, especially since they've gone out of

  • Who care's about Rebecca? I'm more worried about the baby...

I feel a Larry situation coming up.

  • Literally took the words out of my mouth. My thoughts exactly.

  • Maybe dropping her baby on her head

How so? Killing Rebecca with a salt-lick?

  • No no no, I mean Telltale is going to get us to hate her but we are going to have to make a moral choice for her/her baby, blah blah blah. You understand.

  • Just like Larry's.We hate him but will you help him or save him

  • Oh yeah the stab Rebecca option is awesome .But i don't blame her nasty attitude she is just pregos and dealing with hormones and the baby's different father. But comparing to Christa while she was pregos she was calmer .
