MY Amid The Ruins Slide Theory!!

THEORY: "Amid The Ruins" episode 4

This is a theory i have in mind for episode 4 only because it looks so intense. Remember when you go into Sarah's room and you can have a choice to pinky swear her, you can say yes or no. At first, you have a choice in the dialogue (I am going to write ONLY WHAT CLEMENTINE says if you don't accept friendship) that says "We're not friends ; we just met." and "its hard to have friends you can trust" and "I'm worried about saying I'll be your friend and then having to do something not friendly." and "fine, but i warned you." What does all this mean? I think that Clementine will have to do something to Sarah. Either kill her form a bite, or choosing between 2 people. etc. I think that Clementine is spearing war paint/ blood on her face as a symbol of friendship that she never had but lost with Sarah or friendship she had and lost with Sarah or simply sign of bravery. The thing she is smearing on her face may represent Sarah's blood. Maybe she does something crazy like has to kill some of the group depending on the " I thought you were dead." person in episode 2. Like think about it...why would Telltale even have those dialogue choices if nothing was gonna happen. The choices could of either been a simple "yes" or "no". Anyways, thanks so much for reading!

  • You might be looking in to it a bit too much. I think something will happen to sarah and your friendship will affect it but i don't think it has to do with the slide. The slide is most likely representing her rising from her fallen group members after an attack which will likely be in episode 3. Interesting theory though! :)

  • It makes sense given the dialogue that something will happen to Sarah. I have a feeling though episode 4 will be about Wellington being ruins, hence the name "Amid The Ruins". My thoughts are that Episodes 2 & 3 will be about the group heading for Wellington to escape this Carver fellow while facing some problems along the way. Once at this Wellington place (which I'm guessing is Tavia's group) they find the dead have taken over.

Hopefully I'm wrong though cause that's just Crawford all over again.

  • I agree except for the fact that tavia's group is overrun. i hope they get there meet the people from 400 days that went with her and have a battle between them and carvers group (maybe the 400 days characters that stayed at the camp will join carver or something). It just wouldn't make sense for us to know about tavia's group and look forward to it and then finding them all dead.

  • that would be cool, I never considered where those characters that stayed behind would end up. I assumed they would just not turn up again. But if there was a battle and some went with Tavia while others stayed behind, the ensuing dialogue between opposing 400 days character would be rather entertaining.

  • That's an interesting take on that scene. I actually accepted the pinky swear because I figured I could use that to my advantage at some point. I thought giving a pinky swear instilled trust and that in a later episode, depending on if you accepted her friendship, she will go one way or the other on a decision based on accepting or denying the pinky swear friendship. Her dad made it seem like she's a bit nuts though, so who knows how that will play out in the long run.

  • The stuff she's smearing on her face is called WAR PAINT. I don't know why you think it symbolizes anything, and it definitely not Sarah's blood. I don't think that Sarah and the "Amid the Ruins" slide have anything to do with each other. By the way, there's is something interesting in the slide... cough Eddie's alive cough.

  • I think we all knew Sarah was dead from the first time we saw her.

  • where can she possibly get war pain though?

  • Some kind of abandoned store, I don't know. It could be blood, but it's definitely not Sarah's, or a human's for that matter. I don't think they would see a dead human being and think, "I'm going to wipe their blood on my face, herp-a-derp".

  • Unless it's to become invisible to walkers, like in s1 episode 5.

  • That is possible. It could be a walker's, or an animal's, or it's just war paint. But it's definitely not Sarah's blood.

Theoretically, if Sarah is the only corpse nearby and Clem needs to do some stealth mission quickly, it could be Sarah's blood.

    Extremely unlikely, but still possible.
