If Danny St. John shows up alive in S2...
...I just might ask for a full refund.
This glitch is bugging the hell out of me. If I'd known it was absolutely mandatory to murder both St. John brothers, I'd have done so, if only to ensure continuity between S1 and S2. But I don't feel much like redoing the game from episode 2 all over again.
If the MASS EFFECT 3 debacle proved anything, it's that players want to see their choices matter. When a flashback reel indicates some choices may be actively ignored for the sake of where the writers want to see the story go as opposed to the player, I can't help but worry.

G-ddamit, he won't appear in Season 2 because the story is completely linear and anyone who dies either way always dies. And how is he supposed to get away from the farm with a leg like this? It's obvious that the zombies will eat him if you do not kill him by yourself.
dude.
for some people they didn't kill danny in their game and it shows him being killed in the s2 recap. for some they killed him and they showed him being spared.
I spared him and it showed him being spared.
it's a fucking bug, get over the issue.
Also, my ME3 choices did matter, or at least they mattered just as much as the choices I made in The Walking Dead. It's like people don't understand how hard it would be to make 16 different stories for "CHOICES MUST MATATATATA"
Uh...no, because it was a major character development in the first season (why else would Telltale choose that particular scene for the opening flashback?), and it's a tad frustrating for a glitch to alter that development.
If the bug is confined to the flashback reel alone, fine. I'm happy to "get over it". But as I said in the thread title, if the glitch crops up in the story itself, THEN we'll have problems.
as far as we know, it's confined to the cutscene
the character is most likely dead and not coming back in the story, and the most that I can see coming out of it is Clem saying something about Lee, like "He was ruthless," or "He tried to abide by morals," or something better.
I killed him and my cutscene showed him dead... as far as the "I thought you were dead" is it really so hard to believe that it might be and entirely different person based on your previous decisions?? well all know that TT is capable of blowing the minds right out of its gamers heads... and TWD is truly a masterpiece!
I guess we'll only know for sure when we get there!!
I really doubt Danny survived either way (Andy I really think could still be alive and that is why they showed it). He was in a bear trap and walkers had almost reached the barn doors already. Not to mention Lilly may have killed him.
I would think the "I thought you were dead" line applies to Christa, or maybe Kenny from S1 since it doesn't actually show his death and you do find the drawing of Him in Clems backpack early on.
Impossible, I killed both of them and clementine watched.
Cry me a river.
Get a life, troll-boy.
Literally the amount of times I have seen the ST. Johns brother or the bathroom robber mentioned on here it is proof we have literally run out of things to talk about. It is 110% neither.
I have to agree with Morgan. Seeing that really bugged me too, as it was the point where my Lee started to become darker and more pragmatic after I killed Danny. It was a real turning point in Lee's development in my game, and I don't want this glitch to mess that up somehow.
Th way the glitch works is: if you killed both Danny and Andy it shows you killing Danny. If you killed only Danny or only Andy and not both it shows you sparing Danny. If you killed neither it shows you sparing Danny.
cry me a river.
I killed them both without hesitating, it showed that in the season 2 opener.
They are dead, kthxbai.
It might not be a glitch. Notice how the choice regarding the brothers in Ep.2 only says "Did you kill the Brothers", not "did you kill a brother". The choice only cares if you killed both. It doesn't matter if you killed one of them since the choice only cares if you killed both. Thus, the scene we saw.
If that's what they were trying to get across, they should have showed BOTH brothers fates. If you killed Danny but not Andy, then they should have had you killing Danny, but not Andy, and whatever other combinations of that scene that can come about. As it is, the only choice of those two that looks important is if Danny was spared or not.
Ah, that makes sense since the choices were lumped together in the stats screen as "Killed both St. John brothers?" My guess is that there won't be any specific consequences here. It might just make Clementine a little more dark if you did kill both brothers.
I wonder if season 2 will provide that "mark what happened to your legs" moment.
I just did not get excited playing episode 1 and then it was over.
Oh, I'm the troll because I enjoyed the episode and I'm not constantly complaining about it? I'm starting to doubt you even what what the term "troll" means.
That's my line! lol
Thanks, we know that episode 1 wasn't up to your standards. No need to mention it in every thread.
