  • I doubt they would give up the releasing one game at a time slowly. Simply because if they waited a year for the entire season to be over. They wouldn't get the instant cash from pre order. Once you pre order, it's money that slips right into their pocket. I do share the same concern when I saw they were hiring.

They're hiring for a ton of positions, I don't think they can handle the workload. I thought it was two teams working on the game. I assumed since they had a year on Wolf Among Us, it would be ready. I don't know if they would or could even admit that they simply can't release two games at once.

It's a giant shame, is this what game of thrones, or borderlands is expected to have slow releases, reduce game time. If that's the case. Then honestly. I would rather buy the season when they finish. This three month plus wait for an hour and thirty minute is just getting crazy.

  • Dude they're only working on two games. Telltale said before that they only work on two games at a time at most. They said right now they just have the license to make those games, they said they won't start working on them until after TWAU and TWD are done.

  • I don't get the complaint on less game time based on one game. I just played the TWAU and that took me almost three hours and took most let's players almost three hours as well. The Walking Dead seemed to be the only actual short episode so I really don't understand that logic based off one episode.

I don't know why TWAU is taking so long though, the achievements for all the episodes are up so that means the story is completely written which Telltale almost never does, typically they write as they go along. Also on their AMA on Reddit the implication was that they weren't working on episode 2 of TWAU but rather episode 3 and 4. My gut says they had an issue with something and couldn't wrap it up in time to get it out before The Walking Dead. I expect the TWAU will release early January and the episodes won't take long to come after that. Telltale finishing episodes in a month and releasing them has happened before, it happened with Back to the Future and with The Walking Dead's last episode. Both of those had an episode take only one month.

  • Its clear that they fucked up somewhere along the road. Last year they suddenly went big in mainstream and looks like they felt they need a change in company because of that. This is a mistake i think. They should develope one game at the time. I am sure some of the staff in multitasking which is NEVER good. With bigger budget and one game at the time they could deliver episodes faster and episodes that are better and longer. Maybe they could even make it with one episode a month.

  • What about Crista? I would be genuinely let down if it wasn't someone more surprising but we never seen her die either.

Agreed. It's probably Lilly or Kenny, but my money is on Lilly because it would be a worst case scenario for Clem and this season seems to be really dealing out the damage for her so far. (Still hoping for Kenny though, just to see a friendly face)

  • Telltale needs to try a little harder to speed up the release dates, it has become increasingly annoying since season 1 ofTWD . The wait between seasons was ridiculous and this bullshit delay on TWAU is making me want to punch Telltale in the face.Everybody wants the surprise to be Kenny but the character Clem sees will either be Lily or Christa because they will save the fate of Kenny for a later episode

  • This is completely insane to wait for the next episode for a long period! it should be released in a sufficient period of time

  • Remember, episode 1 was just as short. It'll get longer for now on. Episode 2 was very long, it took me and my brother almost 2-3 hours. You should've known this, you did say you played their games, you should already know that the first episode is short and really doesn't give you a gist of anything at all.

  • Telltale has multiple teams. The biggest two are the ones working on the games currently being released such as TWAU and TWD. They said previously that it's always the same amount of people on each game and one games development doesn't affect the other ones. Games such as Game of Thrones and Borderlands aren't being developed yet, they're in pre-production. They have tiny teams of about five people working on those where they get a rough story sketched out, characters, and what ever else they plan to do.

I don't get the complaint about shorter episodes. TWD episode 1 was about 100 minutes (According to my playthrough on Steam and it's not like I take my time or anything) and The Wolf Among Us took me almost three hours and yet people are complaining that the episodes are getting shorter based on one episode. That's a really weird complaint. For that complaint to be valid, there would need to be about three consecutive episodes of that length and they're not.

I think the reason The Walking Dead felt so short was the huge lack of filler. Episode 1 last season had this huge elaborate puzzle on finding Larry's pills that really padded the length out. This season didn't have that so it felt a lot shorter than last season which I think is the issue people are having.

That comment is very selfish, people back in tell tale are actual human beings with families and lives. Also, they're a very small company. Please have patience and be grateful they even made a season 2 to begin with.

People like YOU are the reason we cannot have nice things.

You think being unable to produce 2 hours of content in 30 days over Christmas holidays is being lazy? See, THIS is why we can't have nice things.

  • No they actually work on each episode from scratch. They typically work on two episodes at a time but they don't even start writing the story until they start production.

  • We either get the release/update today or it will be next week. I don't know about everyone else. After Wolf among Us, and Walking Dead are completed. I don't plan to buy the rest of their games, at least till their season is completed. Interesting, this year Witcher 3 and DA3 are supposed to come out this year. It's going be refreshing to play a game all at once, instead waiting...months for it be completed.

  • Update or release soon? We won't be getting news from TWD easily until February. Late January if you feel hopeful.

  • Troy. We don't know who Carver is..

    Carver?

  • I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say Feb 9th the night the show starts back up for the 2nd half of season 4.

  • It was upsetting though, this episode, while a very good one no doubt, was in my opinion the shortest episode to date. its possible im wrong, i have no data other than playing season 1 many times.. but each episode for season 1 was typically 2-2.5 hours long.. so while it was a good episode, i would be very surprised and disappointed if episode 2 is any shorter.

Episode 1 was 1 hour and 34 minutes long.

  • I definitely agree that telltale is a small group and that it is unfair to rush them.... however i am getting very upset with their false timelines.. season 1 specifically stated that there would be one episode per month.. and we all know how that went.. the wolf among us stated each episode for 4-6 weeks apart.. episode 1 came out about 12 weeks ago.. i am a very laid back and reasonable person.. and i love the story that telltale weaves together so i can forgive a wait twice as long as stated.. however it is becoming a common theme for them to overestimate and give false timelines and that is very upsetting for me.. especially now that we are to trust them with 4 series instead of just one or 2.. now dont get me wrong im very excited for their game of thrones adaptation, and interested to see what they can do with borderlands.. but i have lost alot of faith in their ability to produce each episode in a timely fashion.. ill be curious to see how long episode 2 for TWD takes to release.. and if TWAU's episode 2 is released soon..

  • i would like to agree with that, but they never release information, it seems, in conjunction with the show.. perhaps to avoid any confusion.. i half expected an episode 1 update or release date with the end of the first half of season 4.. but alas it was not to be.. other than getting my hopes up with many season 1 GOTY (or special edition, whatever they call it) commercials.

Uh-huh. Something tells me you're writing this poem from a somewhat biased perspective.

(Just for the record, I don't flat-out hate the new episode, but I do think some of the forced narrative actions - Clem leaving the gun in the bathroom, having to leave the shed to treat the dog bite - as well as the episode's short length, are big issues.)

Let's assume the official FAQ is right (lawl): 4-6 weeks between episodes. We are going on the second week in real time, but since TT's staff is reported to be on Holiday break, I'm assuming these past two weeks don't count. If we start counting from next Monday January 6, the four weeks minimum is reached early February (3-7), and the six weeks mid to late February (17-21). If that is correct, the total wait would be nine weeks since the premiere.

EDIT: Or... we become the new TWAU fandom :D.

  • Mid-February, I'd say.

Okay, so what would be the most REALISTIC date for episode 2? Beginning of March? Earlier? Later?
