I don't think they were wearing the same jacket, although similar, Russell's jacket did not have the school logo which Ben had in his jacket (w/c was the SM)
Well Ben's jacket said S/M which is probably the high school football team jacket. Rus jacket was normal because he was in high school. Maybe Rus will mention Ben in the story

It's possible that he changed to a different jacket in over 140 days in the apocalypse. Per say, in the end of 400 days, they all have different clothes.
