  • To be honest I had no problem with Duck. I felt sad when he died. He's just a kid who's entertaining. I don't know why people hate on him even if he was annoying. It would have been cool to see Duck and Clem together in season two :(

  • Dumber than a bag of hammers, lol

  • a little but a didint hate him hes just like all the other kids his age

  • How can someone hate Dick Grayson?

I personally had NO reason to hate Duck, he was just dumb. What made Duck unique was he was either gonna annoy you by being a nuisance or be adorable since he was one of the few good things left in the world (Duck's child-like qualities like Clem and his enthusiasm).

And yeah it would have been interesting if Duck lived through S1, we would have seen how he would have been if he grew up.

I really liked duck...he never lost his spirit poor kid

I'd leave them all to die just to save Ben, you mah boy Ben, gonna take care of ye'.

  • He's a kid but he's the type of kid no one but his parents and relatives actually love. But in real life, most children aren't understanding, smart and obedient like Clementine. Most of them are much more like Duck.

  • didn't mind him that much, he was just the normal annoying kid that you'd expect. I just found Lee's dealing with him the funniest, especially when he cuts off Duck when he finds the chalk

  • I thought he was pretty well characterised. They didn't make him over-the-top annoying like the vast majority of kids in films/games. They just made him act like a relatively stupid kid would act.

  • First time I played the game I didn't like him, but he didn't bother me the second time.

  • Im sorry it was a stupid discussion. Personally i would rather have Ben Then Duck. Clem and Ben had so much in common They both didn't get to see their parents before and they were miss judged they were both scared and kinda alone (at the start untill Clem and Lee came close) sorry I just wish Ben was still in the game... Maybe A ben DLC of what it was like for him before they found him in the forest?

Duck acted like your typical kid who watches too many cartoons and reads too many comic books. He was a nice contrast to Clementine who was a timid girl who clung tightly to Lee's side for much of the game. I didn't hate him, he was just energetic and enthusiastic about super heroes and the like. He still didn't deserve what he got, and you have to have a heart of ice, whether you hated him or not, to feel nothing from the train onward.

  • You are the first person who has ever said this. Ever.

I'd leave them all to die just to save Ben, you mah boy Ben, gonna take care of ye'.

  • I hated Duck solely because of his voice actor. The same reason I hated Mark, and Clemmy via Season 2. Though his death was sadder than any other occurrence in the game.

I liked Duck. And besides, he was more useful then Ben.

  • Never understood all the hate on Duck either.

  • He helped Lee more in 5 minutes than Ben did in four episodes.

  • True, but the acting is much worse in 2.

  • Really? Give me a reason that monotone is a good choice? Depression? Well then why wasn't she depressed in the pit stop?

  • Wasn't he more of a Jason Todd?

  • Hate is always a strong word and isn't usually used correctly. A better word, in my opinion, would be annoy. Duck annoyed the hell out of me but I never hated him. You were supposed to think his character was to.. excited, it gave him depth. People would react differently to a situation like this and it was interesting to see someone it seemingly didn't even scathe. I wanted to hit him a lot, but I was extremely sad when he died. :(

  • Id really like someone to explain to me why people hate Duck so much. He's just a sweet, if not so bright 9 year old kid. He does seem to be a magnet for trouble but its not anything he did on purpose. He was just doomed and i felt bad for him. All those Lets Plays where people were cheering his death just disgusted me.

  • I hated Duck. I know he's a kid but he is just dumb. I thought he was intolerably annoying. Don't get me wrong, I loved his spirit and the part where you high five him is a cool scene but overall he was a heavy liability to the group.

  • Two years and various tragedies into the zombie apocalypse has changed her. Wasnt this already touched on in one your topics?

  • Yes, sir Crawford.

  • In what way? He didnt last long enough to be a liability to anyone but himself. And as has been pointed out, he figured out something Lee wouldnt have been able to on his own. He's smarter than even his own father gave him credit for. I think he just needed someone to believe in him.

  • I wasn't very fond of him at first, but like many, I was won over by his Batman and Robin spiel in Episode 3.

  • I liked it...

I mean, I didn't exactly recognize her voice as monotone, or "depressed." It just sounds older to me.. which makes sense.. considering she's about two years older..

  • I think Shawn believed in him.

Duck: "I want to build a fence!"

Shawn: "Yeah? Well, I need a good foreman. You can sit on the tractor and yell at me whenever I take a water break."

    Duck: "On the tractor? Cool!"

You know how the rest goes. Just saying.

  • you know what's weird though? Duck's supposed to be this excited, hyper-active kid right? But he's so silent when they need him to be silent. He wasn't freaking out at the drugstore when they thought he was bitten, he wasn't freaking out when Lee and Kenny brought in two people, one with no leg, and he was fairly quiet after being bitten. I mean, you could chalk the latter up to the fact that he's very sick, but still.. I think that Duck is actually a smart and brave kid.

  • I really don't understand why people would hate Duck, he was awesome. And he stayed silent when others needed him to be silent. I think he was actually a fairly smart kid in that regards.

  • Yeah, I know that everyone who hates him points that out, like he did it on purpose. Shawn might have made it if Kenny hadnt run off with Duck in his arms instead of helping him. Just saying.
