i love how no matter who you choose to save as Lee, you effectively do nothing.
You try to save Shawn: Shawn dies, Kenny grabs Duck away from zombies
You try to save Duck: You punch a zombie in the face/try to grab Duck from the zombies, you step back, Kenny grabs Duck away from zombies (with the help of Lee), Shawn dies
wish there was an option that when you go to save Duck, and Kenny runs up and you get the prompt to help Kenny, that there would also be the option to try and help Shawn.
Yeah, I know that everyone who hates him points that out, like he did it on purpose. Shawn might have made it if Kenny hadnt run off with Duck in his arms instead of helping him. Just saying.
you know what's weird though? Duck's supposed to be this excited, hyper-active kid right? But he's so silent when they need him to be silent. … moreHe wasn't freaking out at the drugstore when they thought he was bitten, he wasn't freaking out when Lee and Kenny brought in two people, one with no leg, and he was fairly quiet after being bitten. I mean, you could chalk the latter up to the fact that he's very sick, but still.. I think that Duck is actually a smart and brave kid.
No, if he did it on purpose, that would have made him a threat. He did it by accident. That makes him a liability, which is what I thought we were discussing.
I also don't really "hate" him. I just though he was annoying and that his character had about as much depth as a kiddie pool.

Well, you can't call him dumb, because he doesn't actually act dumb or stupid at all. There's never a moment where Duck actually does anything stupid. He's just hyperactive. Ranting on about fictional stories and characters that you love isn't stupid.
Sure, maybe he doesn't fully realize the scale of the zombie apocalypse, but ignorance =/= stupidity.
I love the ignorance =/= stupidity idea you said, way to many people confuse the two! That is pretty much what it boils down to, he just isn't informed on the magnitude of the situation. Although the contrary could be said that he has the inability to learn the magnitude of the situation which would make him stupid. Chalk that up to point of view I guess.
Well, you can't call him dumb, because he doesn't actually act dumb or stupid at all. There's never a moment where Duck actually does anything… more stupid. He's just hyperactive. Ranting on about fictional stories and characters that you love isn't stupid.

But she'd been with Lee for a long time as well. If she was still grieving for Omid 16 months later, then she'd probably still be grieving for Lee about, what, 4-6 months later?
I never posted a topic about this, and I said my opinion, and people started berating me about a small quip at Clementine. I defended my opinion like any normal person would, though, looking back on it, that response to the Big Lebowski meme was a bit dickish.
Also, about the two years point, that's true, but Christa insinuated that they hadn't seen much of anyone since Omid's death. Considering how late into pregnancy she was, I wonder why Clem would still be agonizing about the baby... And that's really all I could come up with about why she'd be so changed.
Yeah, I tried looking at it from that angle, but come on. People who are older, and getting deeper voices still have emotions. She doesn't even really emphasize when emphasizing words, she just draws them out longer.
I liked it...
I mean, I didn't exactly recognize her voice as monotone, or "depressed." It just sounds older to me.. which makes sense.. considering she's about two years older..
Okay, someone posted a similar complaint about how they didnt think Melissa Hutchinson's acting was good this season because of Clementine's flat voice, which I responded to so sorry, I thought that was you. Christa has the same kind of flat affect to her voice so it could be any number of things in that two years that has just weighed down on them. It could just be the fact that they're near starving all the time. Im just saying that two years into these horrible conditions would change anyone but we can only speculate since, thank god, we've never experienced a world ending apocalypse.

She'd probably been doing her best to be look forward with the two though. She didn't exactly sound like she was enjoying herself anyway. There was normality though. With only Christa to talk to and her bitterness and lack of trust with anyone else Clem seemed depressed
It's all good, man. Anyways, Christa makes sense, because she probably knew Omid for years on years, and she clearly loved him quite a bit. Plus, in my eyes, she blamed Clem for Omid's death, and came across as bitter. She still had more emotion than Clem. Plus, about the starvation thing, what about right before saving Nick or Pete? She was still monotone.

listen to the tones in his voice, the way he speaks. When Duck grows up, that's how he's gonna sound. "Welcome to the family, kid." And, "Daddy says it's called a 'salt lick.'" are perfect examples of this.
Hopefully she'll perk up when she's more friendly with new characters (If she ever is since S2 isn't big on any comedy right now) or if characters from S1 come back

Could be the thing that changes her Meets person from S1 (Hopefully) In Ep2 and it perks her up for the next eps. This would be inspiring since she's seemingly way less hopeful after Lee and Omid

Its the way she speaks now. I dont know how you want her to sound, She's not a peppy 8 year old anymore. She's just been through a lot and before she met Nick and Pete she was fighting off the trauma of being bitten by a dog and having to kill it (or leave it if you make that choice). All these experiences have changed her. Thats all I can say about it. Her many terrible experiences have changed her over the years and her voice is reflecting the hardship and weariness she feels. I think its appropriate. Maybe you will get used to it when we get to the next episode.

Im sorry it was a stupid discussion. Personally i would rather have Ben Then Duck. Clem and Ben had so much in common They both didn't get to … moresee their parents before and they were miss judged they were both scared and kinda alone (at the start untill Clem and Lee came close) sorry I just wish Ben was still in the game... Maybe A ben DLC of what it was like for him before they found him in the forest?
Being prone to making mistakes makes you a liability. The thing with Shawn is the only concrete example we were shown but it seems pretty clear from how Lee, Lilly, and even his own parents try to keep him away from anything they find to be remotely important that he has a tendency to fuck up whatever he gets his hand on.
As for Clementine. Well...kind of. I love her to death but until she learned how to shoot a gun, she was a bit of a liability. She didn't know how to protect herself, she had to be attended to and cared for, and she was too trusting and naive for her own good. However, she did tend to crawl through spaces and get the group out of jams so that arguably balances things out.
I want her to sound... Like any character in the game other than Duck and Mark, really. Every character had amazing emotion in their voice. Sometimes it was subtle, but never this subtle. Sometimes emotions got across more through faces than the voice, but it worked for those characters, and even then, their voices still had a hint of emotion. Also, what would she have seen? Christa hinted at them not really seeing much of any other people. Other than that, what could bother Clem? Getting nabbed by walkers? Which happened before the 16 months? Seeing a dead puppy? But she'd seen a dead Lee before, too, so that wouldn't really attribute to it.... Explain, please.

Maybe he has a tendency to break stuff as little kids sometimes do. He's 9. I didnt put much stock into that. His parents think he's stupid so they probably just treat him like that as a matter of course and the other adults picked up on it and treat him the same way. You can only control other people so much, even kids so, you cant stop people making mistakes even when they mean well.

How can I explain when I dont know anymore than you do what happened in those 16 months? It could be nothing in particular, just the strain of their circumstances weighing on her. I dont know what it is you're hearing or not hearing that is bothering you because my perspective is different. For instance, I had no problem with Duck or Mark's voice acting, lol. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

I agree. Maybe not the smartest, but knowing when you need to shut up is a great attribute.

In the words of Kenny, "Hopin' ain't worth a damn!"

Making mistakes makes you a liability? Then everyone is, including miss Clementine.
True but Omid and Christa were like her hope after Lee. Now they aren't so much. 16 months with depressed and bitter Christa could change Clem lots
Mark's voice is hot dawg
It's because of PewDiePie.
But it was clear that she liked Lee far more than Omid and Christa. And she looked sadder in Lee's death.
She'd probably been doing her best to be look forward with the two though. She didn't exactly sound like she was enjoying herself anyway. There was normality though. With only Christa to talk to and her bitterness and lack of trust with anyone else Clem seemed depressed

He's basically a grown up Duck. That is not hot.
Idk ;/ I listen to my Mark cassettes lots and I don't hear the similarities ;/ I could be distracted by his badassery though. I suppose
Hopefully she'll perk up when she's more friendly with new characters (If she ever is since S2 isn't big on any comedy right now) or if characters from S1 come back

He stepped up in episode 3, I actually started to grow in him. At the end of the day, he was just a little kid.
She sounded like she did at any dull points with Lee.
She sounded the same monotone way all throughout the episode 2 preview. God, I hope they see this and fix it.
Could be the thing that changes her Meets person from S1 (Hopefully) In Ep2 and it perks her up for the next eps. This would be inspiring since she's seemingly way less hopeful after Lee and Omid
Dear God, I hope so. I don't want to hate Season 2, Clementine just made me feel this way.

I'm kind of hoping that they'll do more DLCs for some of the other characters. Perhaps a Molly DLC(Since she stayed in Savannah)

*sigh
Fine. Man, I just can't stand that monotone. Justifiable or not, it sucks to have a hero who sounds as excited as a gecko.
I know this doesn't apply to everyone but i swear most people hate duck just because pewdiepie does..
Nah, some people just didn't like you hatin' on duck (that includes me)
Nah Jason Todd is the boy in the Attic
