"One of the guys we were with before"

edited January 2014 in The Walking Dead

In the episode 2 trailer, Clementine asks the group who the person at the door was.

Carlos says "One of the guys we were with before."

Now I don't know if anyone else picked this up, but Carlos is hinting that the door-knocker is ONE of MULTIPLE people they used to be with. So they didn't just kick Carver out, they were seemingly a group with the other characters we've seen (allegedly named Troy, Johnny, Mathew and Walter).

I only just noticed that today. I was too busy thinking about whether the guy who knocked was in fact Carver (or Heisenberg) that I didn't realise Carlos was making reference to multiple people.

EDIT: Vivec has notified me that Pete says that Carver is a man in the kitchen scene, so this following bit is false:

Also they never reference Carver being a man, so they could be a woman or even a name for the group that the cabin group split from. Nick says 'Think about it - you're Carver, what do you do?" He doesn't actually say Carver is one person and it could be used in reference to a group.

Comments

  • Judging by the group meeting the cabin group has while Clementine is looking for supplies to fix her arm, the Cabin group is kind of on the run from the other guys, so that could be true.

maybe the guys who got kicked out of the group got pissed and trying now to kill or at least making survival hard for the others

  • Carver is a man. Pete says in kitchen scene:"He is not the type that let things lie"

  • Must've missed that on my playthrough, thanks for the info.

  • well im pretty sure that in the slide for ep. 2, the guy with the binoculars has been confirmed to be Carver. In that slide, he is wearing the same camo jacket as the door-knocker in the preview for ep. 2 at the end of ep.1.

not jumping to any conclusions, but im pretty sure it is Carver...

having said all that, "one of the guys we were with before" could mean that they kicked him out, or that he left on his own accord, and truly, there is no way to tell if he could have meant more than one person.

  • I doubt Carver would show up alone when the Cabin group could simply drag him inside and then kick his head in. If anything the Camo-Guy is probably Carver's right hand man or something. I mean, his face just screams 'lackey' to me:

Maybe he's reluctantly a member of Carver's group. He may have wanted to stay with the Cabin group but he had more ties to Carver and his people or he did something stupid and got left behind with them.

  • We don't actually know if he's the father of her kid, it's just heavily implied.

Thats Beccas kids real father, and the one who knocks on the door. I would think he got a lot to do with group falling apart.
