I think The Last of Us pretty much has the title wrapped up this year. It's pretty similar from a setting, tone, and strong story telling standpoint ... but is also much stronger in the actual gameplay department. No way it beats it out.

I guess that's true. By the time Season 2 actually finishes, they will have already announced the 2013 winner. So yeah, Season 2 will be going up against all the upcoming 2014 games.

And yeah,it definitely won't happen.Sure,it was great in 2012,but it just can't compete anymore with any of the awesome titles coming this year.

Haha I hadn't even heard that. Seems like every couple weeks someone announces a GOTY award. I can't ever keep track of which one is the official award. Plus, I'm actually a little more of a movie guy, so I'm used to yearly awards not starting until sometime in January and ending with the Academy Awards in late February - early March.

Its weird how i think about these things.. When i finished the last of us i thought it was the best story i have ever played.. but when season 2 trailer came out and i replayed season 1 and played season 2 episode one of the walking dead i favour clementine and lee more now.. The walking dead just feels like a more personal story.
I think the emotional Impact, the Episodic technique, and support of numerous Youtubers helped TWD get so highly valued. But just now, just looking at what's come from the end of last year and the beginning of this year, I don't think TWD S2 would win with what it has now. I'd actually give my vote to The Wolf Among Us. (I do have a strong love for noir and mysteries.)
