Perfect Teeth!

edited January 2014 in The Walking Dead

EVERYBODY in the game has perfect teeth lol! I'm a little jelly! I mean Clementine is a kid who most likely doesn't brush her teeth frequently, floss, get treatment etc. (then again she barely eats). Anyways not just her but all the characters do. Nice pearly white and straight as can be! haha don't you think so?

  • I noticed that too, lol. Clemy's teeth are ridiculously sharp too. The way she bit that guy's thumb made it bleed!

  • Lol yes!

  • lurkers take over the world and potentially puts Clementine at risk

    Is worried about teeth condition

    :)

But seriously, the game isn't going to accurately show the current hygiene of the characters.. I mean, think about everybody having crooked teeth or no teeth at all. That'd be just... weird.

  • Like in Breaking Bad Jesse teeth should have been horrible looking given that he used meth alot but they were perfect lucking, Vince Gilligan actually said that was his one regret from breaking bad :P

  • true but they could have made a few crooked teeth here and there

  • I'd assume she cuts it herself regularly or rather Christa cut it for her

  • She cuts it frequently based on what she determinately says to Luke about Lee.

"His name was Lee, he taught me how to survive. It's because of him I keep my hair short" :(

  • Maybe biters?

    Or Wanderers?

    Or Chompers?

Or Zombies... No, we can't call them zombies, we aren't allowed to.

By now, I would think she would be able to cut it herself.

  • In TWD universe, what do they use for toilet paper? Life would be hell if society ever collapsed like that when we lose all the conveniences we take for granted.

  • Thats what I thought too

  • They may use leaves or probably they spread their butt cheeks to minimize the smear. Oh god how do i get these images out of my head now.

They could have a supply of toothpaste and a toothbrush that they have looted from somewhere but we don't get to see it, I can only assume there is less tooth rotting due to the fact they are not eating as much processed food or sweet food with lots of sugar in it, They will also be drinking mostly water and not sodas and other sweet drinks so that could preserve their teeth for a while longer.

  • I was taught that the white ash from a camp fire is as good a substitute for toothpaste as anything else. I don't see it being unreasonable to have good teeth in a zombie apocalypse so long as you take care of them; most animals don't exactly use toothbrushes and you'd be amazed how white some of their teeth are.
Toilet paper would be a bummer though, it's not nice when you don't have it.
What about nasty rank clothes? Guessing no one here has ever worn the same stuff for longer than 7 days, at that point your clothes feel like the enemy trying to eat you. And before you think I'm some talented pc wielding hobo it's called hiking for 3 weeks with only what you bring so it's one change of clothes and food, no hunting allowed.

  • Probably because its a comic term. "Walker" wasn't used until the TV series. In the comics, Ricks group calls zombies that actively move around 'roamers' and ones who just sit and only move when people come by 'lurkers.' The Governor and the people of Woodbury called them 'biters.'

Basically it's because in TWD universe, zombies weren't a fictional creation so there is no universal name for them. Different people call them different things. Lees group called them walkers, but when he says that around Andy St John he says "that's what you call them? That's pretty good."

  • In the comics didn't Glenn call them zombies somewhere in the first 5 issues? I think it's just one of those superstitions that if zombie is said in a zombie apoc bad stuff happens. Realistically though I think all the names for them is to show the personality or character of whoever names them and to mainly avoid any over geeking in the tv series or comics about the nature of zombies, it'd be awkward.

  • I read that in ancient Rome they used a sponge soaked in salt water, on the end of a stick on public restrooms that is.

Supposedly some cultures also wiped themselves with their left hand, then either using water or dirt to clean it again.

I suppose it's possible to find a lot of paper/rags in the early months of the apocalypse at least. Not sure it's really feasible to keep washing the same rags though. Using leaves might be preferable.

  • Same happens in the comics. We need to ask Kirkman, not Telltale. Telltale develops the history based on Kirkman's comics. :D

What if they looted a large supply of vitamins and calcium supplements :P I think it could be possible for some people to grow vegetables and catch fish which might be slightly healthier than living off only meat or things that grow in the forest.

  • Bicarbonate of Soda is a natural whitener. You can sprinkle it on toothpaste, or use it just on its own. It's cheap and easily available. Maybe they laid down stocks of it? xD

  • I love how the reasoning in the Skybound/Telltale universe for why they don't call them zombies is that it sounds silly. I'm not kidding, that is actually what Rick says in Volume 3. "I guess we've been calling them zombies, though it took us a while to say it with a straight face."

Also Lee calls them zombies once. "You've got your family to look out for, and Doug's not good around zombies."

The AMC universe reasoning is that the old Romero movies that made the word zombie popular never existed. I believe Kirkman said this in an interview or on Talking Dead.

  • How do you know she doesn't brush??!! She might, she has a bottle of water and possibly toothpaste..

  • They really only call them zombies up until about book 3-5 because in book 3, Rick comments on how calling them zombies sounds kind of silly.
