How do the recently turned bite pose a threat?

edited January 2014 in The Walking Dead

Kinda sketchy, but i will try to explain. As you all probably know, the reason you die quickly after walker bite is because loads of stuff like ecoli and bacteria are living on the decomposing body. But ifg that theory is correct, how could, let's say a walker which turned about 5 minutes ago, bite be a threat?
I mean there can't be bacteria and stuff growing that quickly to make you ill can they?
i was thinking in the case with that guy you cut the leg off of in episode 2, he turned real quick but if he had bitten lee, would lee have gotten ill?

  • This reminds me, TT never had anybody with a bite try and hide it and later turn into a zombie. Except for the one guy in season 1 where they were at the motel but i think they knew he was bitten.

  • Everyone is infected when they're alive as the virus is airborne, so when they die they come back as a walker. The bite is a threat as they probably carry some sort of sister virus that kills whoever they bite, which is triggered when they are zombified.

  • no one was bitten before Duck in the group.

    Well, bitten and survived.
