All the GTA V Controversy
This is gonna take a while. I know it. Every GTA game cause a stir at release, but Grand Theft Auto V may just take the cake. So I'd like everyone to contribute and find ANYTHING noteworthy involving GTA V.

A lot of Elementary School kids in Ireland have said they're getting the game for Christmas, and the school principal sent a letter to all parents of kids at the school saying that the game was not appropriate for any Elementary School kid. Here I agree, but the school shouldn't have had to send that letter home. Parents should know that these games are for mature audiences and the school made the right choice. V may be the worst game of all, but I'm basing that on my country's rating system (I'm Australian). All the past GTA games have been MA15+, but V got R18+. One of the few times I'm agreeing with these people.
2: The Torture Scene
While I haven't played the mission in question, I know it's pretty much cause human rights activists to riot. http://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/81784753.html
Another one where I can understand the stir, and maybe Rockstar did go a bit overboard here.
Please add other stuff that you find!

What the children do outside of school is none of the school's business. Schools must report suspected abuse, but they shouldn't be telling parents how to raise their kids.
That said, any parent who buys this game for their kid should be named and shamed.
But schools shouldn't be doing it. Schools are getting too involved in things like what students are bringing for their lunches and what kinds of bags they're bringing their lunches in, etc. They need to mind their own damn business and worry about teaching English and math, something schools in Ireland and the US aren't doing such a great job at, in general.
While I agree with you in part, I think the school made the right call. They weren't actually telling them that they can't get GTA V for their kids, they were just advising them not to buy it. Honestly this is the only time where I agree with all the game haters. Yes, I play GTA V in Australia even though I'm underage, but the rules here aren't rules, more like guidelines. There are some kids who have the maturity to play these games from a younger age. In fact, I'm an example since I played GTA San Andreas when I was around 10, and it never affected me badly. But Elementary school kids shouldn't be playing any GTA game, let alone V. The school was right to advise parents not to buy it, but they still didn't say they can't buy it.
