Question About The Steam Update

edited January 2014 in The Wolf Among Us

I was playing Little Inferno this evening when I noticed Steam did an automatic update for The Wolf Among Us. It was only 4 MB in size, so I knew it had nothing to do with a new episode.

I loaded the game anyway to see what the update was, and it looks like the Player Choices has changed to show something different. Gone are the records of if you told Beast about Beauty, who your top suspect is, and a few other big ones. A new record features Crane's image with the question of if you defended Snow White during your initial encounter with Crane at the Business Office.

Does anyone have any insight as to why these changes? I was hoping to track how good of a detective I am since it was clear the choices were going to be record as to how the case would develope. Now, it just feels rather... unimportant.

  • My guess: Telltale decided to tell the story differently, so they changed what variables would be important. That may also be why the episode too 4 months to make. They scrapped some of the old scenes in favor of new ones.

  • I recall they actually changed the choices at least several weeks back. I don't think this in particular is anything new.

  • So the case of who is beheading various Fables is probably going to take a back seat to the whole "Bigby needs to get his Wolf Mode under control" plot?

  • I wouldn't think they would go that far. If they had changed the plot, I would say to expect small and minimal changes for the most part.

  • So a line or two about if you defended Snow was given a priority of importance rather than who you think the murderer is? I guess we'll find out during the talk with Crane once episode 2 is out.
