will their ever be any reference of the game in the comics or show?

edited January 2014 in The Walking Dead

I don't know, it just feels like it would be a good idea to just put some tiny detail into the show or comics you know? Nothing at all like Clem appearing as a character in the TV show, that could got badly. Michonne mentions searching for the governor earlier In MACON the motor inn can't be far from that (or what's left of it)
i dunno just feels like it would be a nice touch to have a small reference...What do you think?

  • I think it'd be nice, but I doubt Robert Kirkman would do that, unfortunately.

Well, maybe he could make references here and there...

  • that would be awesome if they had an episode centered around the motor inn. it couldn't be that hard to set up a 2 story L shaped building. though in some peoples playthroughs the balcony is broken so somebody would bitch... damn it! stupid minor details.

  • I think it would be 'what ever'.

  • It would be nice if Glenn told the group " I was once trapped in a pharmacy with a reporter, a nerd who spend the whole night looking out through the window, An asshole who had a heart attack for being a rascist, his daughter was a bitch

  • how would that even come up? wait got it. Maggie does something incredibly stupid and is beating herself up about it. Glenn trying to make her feel better tells her, Hey don't call yourself stupid, When this first started I was trapped in a pharmacy and this one reporter kept going on and on about how our radio didn't work. MAGGIE: ok? GLENN: well we saved this one guy and within 5 minutes he found out it was because it didn't have batteries, and when we finally found batteries the dumb bitch put them in backwards. Then to top it all off by time she quit playing the dumb broad role trying to be cute or whatever and we finally got the radio to work, we only heard the end of a broadcast of them being attacked. MAGGIE: damn she sounds dumber than this kid ben I used to go to school with DUN DUN DUN (epic over reference)

  • What I really want as a reference are Clem and Lee appearing as characters, but that might be too much. The next best thing would be to have Clem's hat and her radio appear on a table somewhere. Everybody who has played the game will be overjoyed :)

  • That ship has sailed, man :(.

  • It has been referenced I can't remember which episode but I think michionne mentioned Macon (same place twd the game takes place)

  • It could still happen in the tv show , hope is all we got left man !

  • I hope they do some kind of reference.. How awesome would it be if the group go to Macon and come across the Drugstore to search it and
alive inside started playing for a few seconds.. But i doubt it.. i think they should do a battery reference.

  • They could even appear as character's in the TV show since Telltale's is only canon to the comics. That means just like all the characters from Telltale could appear as alternate versions in the TV show, just like rick and everyone is an alternate version on the characters in the comics.

They might do some references in the comics, but characters appearing is very unlikely as Telltale's is canon to the comics, so if characters from Telltale's showed up in the comics, then that would mean that characters from the comics would have to appear in telltale's in the exact same way. However...

Al the characters from the TV show are alternate versions of the characters from the comics(with the exception of characters like Daryl and Beth who are original to the TV show), so that means that alternate versions of the Telltale characters could potentially show up in the show, which would be pretty okay I guess. Something like maybe before the group finds

    (Spoilers?)

Alexandria, they run into Lee(with one arm?), Clem, Kenny, Ben, Christa, and Omid. That would be pretty cool.

  • Daaaaaym indeed

    Daaaaaaym.

  • I don't know if they'd do it or how I'd feel about it. But if AMC chooses to introduce Lee and Clementine they have to do it REALLY well because it's a great risk and if it's not perfectly or near perfectly done, chances are the response will be negative.

I wouldn't mind hearing some chacercter (from the TV show or the comics) mention that they met them once or something like that. They wouldn't be putting their necks on the line or running the risk of portraying the characters in a way we don't like and they'd be "recogizing" the game.

  • I will admit, it would be a huge risk on their part, but they might do it. Think about it, they're actually moving faster than the comics, so eventually, they'll have to come up with their own story lines to prevent that from happening. When they get really close to overtaking the comics, they might take content from Telltale's so that they don't go past the comics.
