  • I think it is because TWD is completly different. I wouldn't play any of the other games. I didn't like any Zombie themed games or movies and have never seen one before. But on a Broken Sword forum many people praised TWD as a great adventure so I gave it a try. And I really really loved it despite the zombies. I think that is why it is so popular. It appeals to a wider audience than the other games. Like to me who has played mostly adventures and stuff like The Sims before.

  • DID somebody said BIOSHOCK!!?have you still remember the ending of the infinite?OMG.it Was such a perfect ending.

Eh, not even as good as Bioshock though. Or Bastion, that game had a fantastic story.

  • because there are no zombies in the last of us...

Surprised no one put The Last of Us as a contender for one of the best zombie games in here.

  • Trust me I wish I could :P

  • I probably could, but I'm not watching a 36 minute video to do it :P

  • Oh, and which cliches are you talking about? The entire world of TWD is ripe with them :P

  • Why is this guy making a big deal about the racism in the game? XD

  • I'm not going to argue the technical definition of a zombie, the 'zombies' in TLOU have all the characteristics of a modern day zombie... so they are zombies (and it is a zombie game)

One thing i liked in The Last of Us was Joel's path to becoming ruthless and almost a pshycopath in the end of the game (killing a bunch of inocent doctors to save Ellie, torturing people) but the rest was all like '' my daughter is dead, now i met this girl and i feel connected to her beccause she reminds me of my daughter'' cliché and overrall just reminded me alot about the walking dead.

  • Well, not perfect, but yeah, it was pretty good. The ending to Bioshock 2 was better though.

I can tell you that it was good based off my own experience.

Also, I was specifically talking about Bioshock and Bioshock 2, which was both better than infinite in almost every way except characters.

And regardless, even Infinite is better than The Last of Us.

  • State of Decay, Resident Evil are all a joke compared to The Walking Dead.

  • Lets see. in the Last of the us , the infected are not dead. They are living people with a fungal infection. If your not dead your not a zombie. You dont have to shoot/stab them in the head to kill them, .....that"s not very zombie like .And you fight 2x more hunters/fireflies than you do infected people.

  • They try to bite you to spread the infection, when infected you lose all humanistic thinking, and the reason for the world being the way it is is because of these zombies so fighting more humans is irrelevant. It's a zombie game.

  • Yeah, that basically explained how I feel about Infinite in a nutshell, except perhaps it was a bit harsher. Honestly, they never should have made the Bioshock Series a shooter, it being something like the stuff Telltale does would have worked out much better.

In fact, I'd actually prefer to see Telltale do a Bioshock game than a Borderlands game...

  • i mean why walking dead? we have so many great zombie game like:state of decay resident evil dead rising but why most of the people chose the walking dead?

    Alt text

  • Only games with zombies I've played are
    The Walking Dead
    Resident Evil
Dead Island (makes my 3D card buzz)
    Plants & Zombies
    some DLCs of other games
various games with zombies as units
    :)

  • Still not sure more of those are cliches, I haven't ever seen them in more than one, perhaps two other titles... movies, books, and games all included. Cannibalism is the only one I would consider that might be cliche but I think it was shown to use in a much, much more interesting way than most other versions.

  • But I've played and read and saw a lot of zombie media? lol. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree :p

  • I think they have their place. They definitely don't make it feel like a dangerous world that's filled with actual people, kinda reminds me of Doc Savage (I think the book was called Doc Savage anyway).
