The Red Haired Man is NOT the killer!
I've played the game three times now, and I'm pretty sure that the Red Haired Men is not the killer.
(SPOILERS AHEAD!)
I don't know if someone brought it up before, but here's what I think (and what will happen in the next four eps). In the first episode, Bigby says that Faith was killed with a weapon that has Magic attached to it - and, as we find out later, Woodsman's axe was blessed by druids. But he's NOT a killer - even though some people may think he is. Here's where Dee and Dum come into play - Dee says that he is a private investigator for someone and has a few questions for the Woodsman - I believe he's telling the truth and that he's working for Faith's pimp! Think about it - one of his girls is dead and he wants to find out who killed her, so he hires two investigators to follow two obvious leads - that's why they were searching Woodsman's apartment (for the axe) and Prince Lawrence's apartment (pimp might have thought that he was jealous of faith and probably killed her with some magical object). OK, but what about the Red Haired Man? Of course, he was at the crime scene, but also in many places which were SOMEHOW investigated by Bigby. Question - how would he know where to look for him?
Here's my theory (based not just upon the gamplay, but also previews of the episodes in main menu and the comics) - someone is trying to take over Fabletown, so he starts with the murder of Faith - because, obviously, the first three investigation paths are husband, pimp and the last client (with Woodsman being the easiest to frame, since he might be in the possession of murder weapon). Bigby, for all his willingness to be better, is easy to be provoked - the Red Haired Man is hired by someone to follow him and make sure he disobeys Fabletown's law (so Bigby can be removed from his position; besides, this person - judging from the game files - is The Boy Who Cried Wolf, so his name is fitting to the situation). It doesn't work out, so the murderer targets Snow, as this may easily push Bigby off the edge. My guess is that Bluebeard is orchestrating this, even though he is not a killer (he is seen in episode three or four as taking Snow's or Crane's positions) - he doesn't want to get his hands dirty, just like in comics, where he is always indirectly involved in something. I think that later on Bigby will be implicated somehow for the murders and become fugitive, so he will have to find the killer on his own (but unable to take down Bluebeard, as he is fine in the comics) to clear his name. Snow will probably be ressurected somehow. This will also explain why her attitude became colder in the comics (because she was 'killed' by a Fable after all, so she won't be that nice anymore) and Bigby's obsession to arrest Bluebeard anytime, without any real reason.
What do you think?
EDIT: IF it turns out that Bigby will be accused, his enemies may have a strong evidence - after all, how hard is it to tear off someone's head if you already tore off Gren's arm?

That is some solid work there. I think you might be very close to the answer we've been looking for.
i just started to read comics so correct me if i'm wrong
but is it possible to cut someones head (like pig or cat (nonfable)) and put a glamour on it so that it looks like a Snows head?
I don't remember if something like that happened in the comics (or if it's even possible) and glamour wears off over time. But, who knows? Maybe that's what happened in the game. Though this would mean that Snow is held hostage somewhere, and I think it's her body in the trailer for episode 2.
The anticipation is killing me! Thank God for the episode next week
Holy crap man. That's an awesome theory, it has all the twist and turns that we would expect from a telltale game.
You clever mother fuc*er
So I've been told. Thanks
Good job Dude, Well thought Theory? Deserves a like !
...you know what? Now that I think of it (after seeing the trailer for episode 2), Bigby may not become accused of these crimes. One of the scenes from the video shows his interrogation by Mundy Police (after being apprehended at the end of ep. 1). So, after Bluebeard seizes Snow's/Crane's position, he may simply get rid of Bigby for the simple fact that he attracted too much attention to the Fables and exile him, effectively taking down all obstacles on his way to power.
Seriously, I hope we won't be waiting too much for the following episodes, the suspense is killing me
Wow, this is one pretty brilliant theory. It would actually be a good reasoning behind the ginger guy's locations. I've always had a suspicion that Telltale were trying to throw-off our scent by making us pay attention to this guy and his weird locations. But if he really ISN'T the killer that would make for exciting future episodes.
But on the subject of the fact that the ginger guy was in the taxi car with Bigby and Snow, I thought it was possible, POSSIBLE that he may have been there to eavesdrop on our conversation. And whoever you said killed Faith, he would use that information against you later on, or pass it to another person. Who knows though, but I have a feeling that all of your dialogue and actions will have bad consequences. Even small ones like when you told Bufkin to fuck off. He may have been outside the office trying to eavesdrop.
^This. Probably, someone who sent the ginger wanted to make sure how far the investigation is already - and to accuse Bigby in the future, as he was the last person who saw Snow alive.
Bigby can't be accused, he's the main character.
He can because of his past..
Even if fables aren't suppose to talk about past or point some out ..they might do it because they are afraid of him depending on how you handle him in scenes
so it'll be like the walking dead again? where someone know your doings and judge you?
Not exactly... but someone will probably use prejudices against Wolf to falsely accuse him - it will work very well because almost nobody in Fabletown likes Bigby, so it's easy to believe that he became evil again.
I'll have to agree with you here. When I first made my theory I did not accuse Cryer of being the killer , but just being involved in the crimes. A lot of people misunderstood that. Well I guess it's my fault too , the thread shouldn't have been titled "The Killer" when it's not really about the killer.
Those last thoughts are quoted from my thread , but not many people read this :
Now I honestly really like your theory and hope that by the end of the season we all manage to solve the mystery together.
Oh... I guess I'm one of those people who didn't fully read your theory. Sorry
I wrote this post after reading numerous times that Red Head is the killer - these theories never really 'clicked' for me. But it's nice that I wasn't the only one who thought about that in this way I hope we'll be able to solve it together, just like you said, but at the same time I have this glimpse of hope that we're all wrong - I want Telltale to surprise us
If this turns out to be true, it might very well be Geppetto. In the comics, Baba Yaga, his envoy to Fabletown, is often disguised as Red Riding Hood. But in the game, it might be anyone else! It could make up for some mind-blowing interactions (Bigby thinking he's talking to someone when it's Baba Yaga in disguise).
Well done theory. I may sound stupid and all but what if the killer is appears in laters episodes?
*later
This isn't exactly related to your thread, Tom, but rather than make another thread about the killer . . . One thing I've not seen people really focus on is the blue fabric you find at the crime scene. It could be a red herring or something, but if we're to assume that it belongs to the killer, I've seen no-one wearing blue trousers (I'm assuming it's from trousers). Of course, someone could obviously change clothes, but . . . I'm personally thinking the killer might not have even been introduced yet.
Your theory seems quite good, by the way.
Well, I've been thinkining about this shred of jeans and - if the was no trail leading out of Woodlands, then the killer must have remained inside... although I'm still wondering if it isn't just another red herring, not related to the case at all. If it will turn out as a part of investigation, then it belongs to a character we're yet to meet.
The other thing is the third Tarot card from Crane's desk - it remains unexplained why Bigby picked it up and what it mean (unless I missed something). The first one was related to Bigby (power means his wolf form) the second was probably connected with Snow's death (dead woman falling from the tower - Snow's fall from grace?). It probably predicts what will happen in the second episode or later (a body with multiple swords in it - Another murder? Betrayal?).
Highly unlikely.
if you read Fables u know who it is most likely... everything points to Bluebeard.
