Question about the cancer survivors??

edited February 2014 in The Walking Dead

Vernon and the rest of the cancer survivors were all in Savannah right? In 400 Days, all the survivors apart from Vernon are at Gils pitstop, isn't that far away from Savannah like near Macon? If so then how or why did the survivors go there all the way from Savannah? Maybe they all made it to the water and something happened and drifted somewhere before making there way to the pitstop?

  • My personal opinion is that they took the train backwards. Maybe somebody like Clive knew how to drive it.

  • They took the boat, muffed it up, and wandered to Gil's Pitstop. That's my idea of how they ended up there at least.

  • With the boat i think. KENNYS BOAT fuckers crossed the line when they stole it.

  • Or Vernon stole the boat and the others didn't go with him. And he asked if you came to town on the train so when he their boat he wouldn't feel bad leaving them because they have a train

  • Vernon asked about the train because he saw the zombie herd following the railways. So he knew that Lees group led the herd to Savanah. I don't think Vernon would leave his group to cope with the walkers. But probably noone in the group knew how to use the boat abd they crashed somewhere.

  • I didn't think it was all of V's group except him.
I thought just some of his group were at the pitstop.

  • I think the whole boat plan failed. Savannah was overrun by walkers so maybe Vernon dies when they where trying to get the boat to the river front. Maybe Vernon's group where on their way to Atlanta after that to find help there but met up with Roman half way there.

  • Gils isn't near Macon. There is no mention of its precise location, so I think it is safe to assume it is closer to savannah than Macon.

It's somewhere between Macon and Savannah. It wasn't far away from the place where Carley/Doug died, which in turn isn't far away from the railroad. I don't know for certain, but I assume (based on narrative) that it took longer time to travel with train from there to Savannah than it took to drive with RV from Macon. So we can assume that it's closer to Macon.

  • Yea, they took a boat and sailed it on motherfucking land. Logic.

Gil's Pitstop hasn't exactly got a port connected to it.

  • why wouldn't Vernon and his group go north? or perahps a better question would be why take a boat inland? why would Christa, Omid and Clem decide to head back towards macon?
    it doesn't make any sense.

I'm not very familiar with Georgian geography, but I do know that there's a river which goes from Macon to Atlantic Ocean. Maybe the cancer survivors either sailed the coast and walked from there to inland or sailed the river. I don't know their motives as the only thing which was revealed was that the boat thing went wrong at some point.

However I do know that Christa and Clem were heading to Wellington, because they believe that it might be safer there and cold might affect to the walkers.

  • Perhaps when Vernon decided to steal the boat, the others disagreed and went their separate ways and ended up in Shel's group somehow.

  • Maybe Kenny caught up to them, then killed Vernon for betraying him and stealing the boat. As for the rest who knows, I think they're probably dead because they are not amongst the dead bodies on the riverbank where Roman is found. Roman was their leader at the gas station so without him they would probably perish as they were old and weak.

  • I think when water ended they moved on foot or find a car.

  • I don't know about that Kenny theory, but Gil's Pitstop was a deathtrap from where Shel and Becca barely survived when it was overrun (if you decide to stay with Roman). I assume that most of the other survivors there died (although I assumed that Roman would have perished there too, but in that case I was mistaken).
