Well, the theory was out the day after the ep. 1 release...
the fact is that the director messed up the Ginger Guy character making it too evident (it steps into you just before the killing, and then he appears everywhere).
Thats the problem with this episodic format, The episodes take so long to come out that you are risking people finding out whats gonna happen … morein the story and now you are in a position where if you don't change it the fans are gonna look at it as too obvious
Obvious.
Did you imagine a company called "Telltale" that failed to put an engaging tale because everyone knows the killer from day one?
They also have a reputation to defend.
You may be right, maybe they got something on the camera too? But still, it still feels..... I don't know, weird? Hence the slide for ep 3 cha… morenged completely TT certainly didn't do this before. I just hope this isn't some sort of new tactic from them, as someone above said. I certainly don't want this to happen with TWD as well.
Whether they did or not, I don't take the previews for the next episode as gospel. Obviously, as they're putting those previews together, the next episode isn't finished yet. Hell--movie trailers often feature things that never even make it to the final cut of the film (maybe were never even intended to), so I get it. Scenes will inevitably get moved around or outright dropped if somebody comes up with a better idea.
Does it really matter all that much if the episode fully matches the preview or not? I want them to simply delivery on a good game and story.
I think more than a few of us expect at least some of what's implied to be delivered. If Telltale pushes the identity of the "I thought you were dead" person into the next episode, I'm afraid that's not good storytelling. It's just getting a rise out of your own fanbase.
Does it really matter all that much if the episode fully matches the preview or not? I want them to simply delivery on a good game and story. … moreI think the jury is still out on TWAU, this episoide was clearly changed and Telltale sorta used this episode to change directions but I think at the end of the day if the story they've come up with going forward is a good one, does it really matter if you got to yell at Crane or not like in the preview? I'd rather an interesting story, over something lame and predictable just because they want to match the preview cut scenes.
Let me get this straight, you say they trolled us with fake trailers? When did they do that? The preview was from 4 months ago, before they changed everything. The last trailer we got showed everything just as it is in the episode. So what grounds do you have to complain? If you want to complain about the episode itself, just do so, but claiming that they fed us fake trailers is straight out BS.
Because it does, If you are okay with Telltale trolling you with fake trailers and screenshots thats your business but don't judge people who are pissed about it, This game ain't free so all he people who bought has the right to complain
Yes, they definitely changed some things from episode 2-3. You can tell by the ep 3 preview screen. You can tell by the events in ep 2 not quite aligning to the preview we were presented. The thing is, and I don't know why this wasn't brought up before in this thread, that the bluebeard preview screen and 5th episode screens haven't changed. Us finding out about the murderer was supposed to take place in this episode, I think. But from the information I perceived from the other preview screens, there's something much bigger going on. Bluebeard has a big connection to all this, and the whole "stop laughing at me" thing? Yeah Ichabod had an accomplice. In summary, they didn't change the WHOLE story, only part of it to keep things fresh.
Seems like younare getting into an argument without even knowing whats going on,No one here is complaining about the episode being bad this thread is about the difference in thd content from what they showed in the trailer to what actuàlly happens, Whats BS is you coming here denying this when I even gave examples how this has nothing to do with the trailer

He still drives the taxi, so not much has changed there. And really, there's three episodes to go so there's still plenty of room to come back to why he was lurking aorund.
Same here. Also people often forget that the "Next Time On The...." is not always the episode that comes after. As u said the only hint of Bigby full transformation is the cover art of Episode 5:Cry Wolf. (Sorry for bringing this up but,The boy who cried wolf a.k.a Cryer lol thats a small connection).Anyway they only changed Ep3 because i guess they wanted to make the killer investigation abit short because people were starting to guess and were very close to guess that it was Crane or atleast he had part to it.so i belive the next 3 episodes will focus on hunting him then throwing him to the witching well and find who killed Faith and more about Prince Lawerence hopefully.
Well, it would have been admitting that the director messed all up.
I think the ginger guy is the key to all our suspicious.
And they dire… morected him very bad in the first episode, overexposing him if he was the killer - and it's very probably.
How to make the tension ramping if you know already the killer from ep. 1?
That's why they changed everything.
It's bad if they had to change their plans, I'd like to know the original story, not the derivative one.
I mean, I think the Jesus christ bigby, is that you thing where he tranfroms is supposed to happen more than once, so seeing that earlier and in the preview for ep 5 isn't a big deal. Also, I really didn't mind that Ichabod was revealed. I was actually hit hard by that at the end of the episode. So, yeah the whole story was changed a bit, but not made entirely different. I like this direction. Hell, one good theory is that detective brannigan and lawrence do show up again, and that's totally plausible. they probably just wanted to push it further down the plot line.

I got a theory that Snow was meant to be dead, but as it is a prequel to the comic series they realized that couldn't be. So they made this whole "Lily is glamoured to look like Snow" scenario to get around that stuff up.
The Lily thing doesn't fit, she was killed only last night but had been reported missing for a few days and Holly even mentioned that she doesn't keep in touch much. Also Holly knew her sisters line of work so her missing a few days would hardly be a cause for concern.
TJ finding the body was too convenient and the memory wipe spell too simplistic to avoid the mundy investigation.
I definitely think the long delay was due to the whole series being re-written.
I think that the fact that prince Lawrence isn't there is more important. Remember there is an odd blade and fresh blood at his apartment. Lawrence did the suicide way before and has a dry dark blood on him. It was hinted that Faith could have been killed by a magical blade. That and the fresh blood was a pretty certain clue that Faith was actually killed in that flat and Lawrence might have seen it because he replays that his memories are not clear anymore. He was either a witness or somehow even connected to the killings. He said he did something in his suicide letter and I'm sure he wasn't talking about the suicide itself.
While I would like to believe Lawrence is a big part of the story, The fact that the majority of the people couldn't save him goes against that, And for him to not even show up in Episode 2 doesn't help either

I think they would have known about the Snow situation before making a fables game, I dont think they would make a game about all this characters without knowing their backgrounds

I don't think he was suppose to play a big role himself but in this new episode we got no answers to what did he did exactly and why he commited or tried to commit a suicide. Also there was no indication that Faith could have been killed in his apartment while it was quit obvious in ep1. Dead or alive he was part of the whole murder case same as faith and their got completely sidetracked in ep2 and almost never mentioned. This was my biggest problem with ep2. I hope we will get some answers to that in coming episodes trough.

It's not so much that the trailer was wrong - I mean, these things can be expected in an episode series like this. However, the fact that practically nothing in the trailer actually happened in the episode (plus the title card of episode 3 was changed, and even one of the names of the chapter Achievements doesn't make sense in context) signifies a major reworking of the plot. Coupled with the unprecedented four month wait, plus the relative brevity and unpolished nature of the episode we finally got, I feel there is cause for concern.
The episode was still good, I don't think anyone's saying it was bad. It's just the quality does not reflect the delay, and falls short of the exceptional quality of Episode 1.

That theory is a bit ridiculous. There's no way they would have written the true death of one of the main characters of the franchise they were adapting (a prequel, no less!) and not realised that it would be problematic. Do you think they have the IQ of a toaster?

They might be doing a breaking bad type thing where they show a little bit more of that scene in every preview and then we finally see it all in the final episode. It seems like there were heavy rewrites but i doubt they scrapped the entire episode
Thats a good point, But the thing is Telltale always shows you the preview for next episode only so its hard to belive they just randomly decided to start doing that

Same here i knew snow wouldn't stay dead because of the comics but I was brutal at the start of the episode to crane and tweedle dee because i was sick of their shit.
Damn, I hadn't noticed the change to the third slide. Things were certainly cut out from the episode. The confrontation with Crane in the witc… morehing well, which I assume would've happened after "Revelations"; the detective's (Brennigan, was it?) role seems to be lessened based on the change to the slide, etc.
I also got the feeling Snow was supposed to stay "dead" until the third episode, or at least the end of this one, I don't know. This episode seems to emphasize choice asking the question "How far will you go to get answers?" I knew Snow would somehow live, but at the time, her murder was what drove the violent actions of my otherwise civil Bigby. I wanted answers.
I really hope whatever changes were made were for the best.
Hmmm... I feel like even if we assumed something about a character, that wouldn't be reason enough to rewrite something. It would be rewarding for players to investigate on their own time and be rewarded by finding out the ginger guy is relevant to the story. Plus, even if he is, he could be a red herring or just another link in the investigation.
I don't think that guy was the killer but he was gonna play a big part in the story somehow so I agree with you, They did it because people made such a big deal out of him that they were forced to change the course of the story

Im sure they won't make the same mistakes twice, They are too smart for that

Guess I'm the only one that thinks the "Jesus Christ, Bigby... Is that you?" scene is actually a teaser for Episode 5. Oh well.
Don't Worry Its Okay

Obviously Lawrence is gonna show up, I'll slap Telltale if they just made him disappear ( Like that ginger guy)
